1st/3rd quarter CTD after commercial (3 possible solutions)

Just to share, despite the possible band aid fix i stumbled upon, i still get nervous every 1st and 3rd since i dont know if this is really the solution... In my head im sayin "shit please don't let me waste a good game"... So far, since the day i used the memory allocation theory and the tool itself, I am already a good 2 months in my season... This is just sharing not selling the solution, still in a way, its like selling... haha

On a side note, it feels like nobody is fully protesting this bug like corporate letters and shit... Thats why i feel this sounds like an isolated case and never came up with the 2K devs... If it was really a big problem, the admins would be experiencing this too, right...? I say still we deserve some attention since this costs us money

I've only experienced it once and it was during a My Player game. I don't why CCC.exe would have anything to do with it since that is the Catalyst Control center for AMD video cards.

Then again, Pdub, nor should changing the priority or irrelevant memory allocation work.

Yes, the CCC.exe is for my video card. I just noticed that upping the priority of the card also improved the performance and gave my the best fps ever on my pc with this game. Just an added bonus.

No need for that. It should be enough to either use MemAlloc or just raise the priority of the game. You shouldn't be messing with the necessary stuff of your graphics card driver.

I know I've already brought this up and will probly be scolded for it but since the game has never froze with my internet turned off can we assume it has something to do with corrupted online game data? I mean isn't that a possibility. It freezes right when it starts utilizing online feature aspects of the game.

That's a good point. If it happens during nba today games and not association games, it might have to do with the internet connection.

Happens during Association games as well, and I know for a fact that the game doesn't try to re-sync anything while you're playing a game (I've watched its behavior with Keep My Mod).

I wish it was like that, but the game CTD'ed even with proper Online Data and no access to the internet. That was March 2, though.

Now with MemAlloc, I played 2 games without a crash, and I'm looking forward to testing it more.

NBA2k.exe is most important and as such must be set to high at all times. The CCC.exe is optional. It just works even better if the CCC.exe is set to high as well.

What do you mean? Was there another way to skip the commercial that I don't know? Aren't you always expected to wait for it to load before skipping it? I'm glad to know it works, finally a fix dammit.

I guess he was saying is he skips the commercials... But i have tested it even without skipping, it should work...

I mean the solution 1 really works man, but if you are a very excited and keep pressing skip after 1st quarter it will CTD. In my part I just wait the commercial to finish or wait for the team logo before pressing skip heheh

So if you don't skip and use MemAlloc it never crashes?

Tested Lagkit's theory and it did CTD... So i guess its just best to let the commercial run its course or wait for the logo's... Continuous pressing from the start of the commercial up to the point where it will skip will CTD the game... A fix is not a fix without its flaws

Anyway, sort of request leftos... is it possible to add a command line on the memalloc to run when u open up 2K12... I'm lazy... I know... Would be nice though...

Leftos, could you place a reminder on the first post that for my solution you must always set the priority to high every time you start NBA2k12.

Well my game crashed after 7 minute quarter with both the NBA2k and CCC set to high. I am going to try it without the CCC set to high.

UPDATE!
The game did not crash when it was only the NBA2k that was set to high. this bears more testing.

I'll check it out, see if I can add an option to run a program after MemAlloc allocates the memory via a command line argument.

I don't know if I was lucky or not but I tried this thing and so far I have no crushes. I have played 14 matches in arow without a CTD. I have memalloc on the background and set high priority the 2k12.exe. The funny thing is that at some matches it skips the ads after 1st and 3rd quarter... You know, when it's supposed to show a player. It skips all that and the 2nd (or 4th) quarter continues instantly.
