I have a question sort of which will lead to a request
Is there a value in where the sweat can be removed from the arms and it will just look plain? Basically no shine effect...?
Like when there is lighting on a specific tat that is color red, no shine will emanate from it... Its like ur just looking at the basic texture...
Is there a value for that?

is the old global compatible with the new one?
Wed Mar 07, 2012 11:15 pm
Yeah, old globals work post-patch. I have no idea what they actually changed in the new global.

i got a change earlier to look what they changed..they changed some of the values and the offsets to some are now different...anyways..i give up on nba 2k12 already when i read that the stats bugs isnt fix..im going back playing nba 2k11 now..good luck with this global editor leftos..

tatlopuyo, old globals seem to work fine. Even if they tried to change some lighting on their own, that doesn't mean we cannot keep using our old globals. If someone uses the Global Editor with the new global and sees corruption or has his game crash, I'll update the Global Editor with the correct offsets. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.
Too bad you're giving up on the game. I hope that Vlad and I can fix the team stats bug soon enough to get you back into the game.

its a good thing though they released a new global..atleast now we know where some of the lighting values are and what to change in the old global..ill still help on this global project from time to time...
Thu Mar 08, 2012 2:39 am
Good to know, tatlopuyo. None of this would be possible without your help.

@leftos - hey bro can you make a list of the changes that you noticed in the new global compare to the old?
Thu Mar 08, 2012 7:25 am
I haven't even paid attention to the new global, haven't checked it for changes. If someone else is willing to do that, be my guest. For now, I don't care as long as my 2.5 works.
Thu Mar 08, 2012 7:31 am
Doesn't work for me.
Thu Mar 08, 2012 7:33 am
With the post-patch global, you mean?
Thu Mar 08, 2012 8:06 am
Leftos,Yess
Thu Mar 08, 2012 8:44 am
I just copy-pasted the edited global i had before (Lefto's superglobal with sean's shadow hex values) and works ok. Haven't checked if the shadow effect changed visually though, can anyone confirm/deny?

Okay, then I need to update the tool for the post-patch globals. I'll get around to it soon enough. Until then, use pre-patch globals, they're compatible just fine.

Master, u r the best. Waiting for ur new version. And many friends of mine will support for u for ever. Come on!
By the way, if u change the light 2 to 1, it is like the new version.

The new global does seem to have changed the offsets for some lighting values, although its uncompressed size is exactly the same. That means that the inner structure has changed order for some reason. It could be that nothing else has changed, but I don't have the time to actually compare them that much.
What this means though, is that in a few hours I'll have the v0.4 ready which will be compatible with both 1.0 and 1.0.1 globals. I'm just looking for a signature that will tell the tool which version the global comes from.

i just wanna say thanks for this wonderful tool... i really liked it. but when i applied the official patch, the global isnt working anymore! im seeing a lot of colors on my screen, and its weird. any updates bout this sir?

Yeah, I'm bound to make a new version compatible with post-patch globals in the next few days. I'm just taking a break from modding for a while to relax.
For now, you can replace the post-patch global with one made from the retail one. It will still be compatible, and you'll be able to mess around with the lighting.
You can try, for example, any of the superglobals in the Releases thread.
