NBA 2k12 DVD Version on Steam?

Postby wtferrell on Wed Feb 29, 2012 12:04 pm

Hey guys, is there a way to take the NBA 2k12 DVD Version that I bought, and activate to use it on Steam so I don't have to keep the DVD in the drive? In my new notebook, I don't want to continuously have a DVD in the Bluray burner. Or can I download the Steam Version and use my DVD-Key as an activation? Thanks guys.

nope and nope, all you can do is run it as a non-steam game, which still requires the disc in the drive. or you can buy the game a second time on steam.

or you can buy the game a second time on Amazon for $10 right now, which also gives you $5 off MLB 2K12 http://www.amazon.com/2K-Games-40806NBA ... 005ODQC1O/
Opinions are my own.

Eh, unfortunately, the game isn't worth another $10 in my eyes with the lack of support for the PC. For those of us who bought it, and I've made mention to many of the devs, it's a slap in the face.

I'm buying MLB 2k12, already pre-ordered as well, but won't be paying again for a title that has had no support. Thanks Jao.

And... I just did it.

Gracious. I guess both of them for $30 isn't bad.

But if I've already used the key, can I still sell it? Will they be able to use the key?

Yeah, they'll have to use your 2K account to play online though. They can install it and do everything else without it though.

you could sell the amazon key you received with it, since you only need one....unless you activated that one too.

In case you didn't use the amazon key and want to sell it, I'm interested. I need another key and I can get the game for $10 because I'm not from USA.

Make sure your Steam version can be activated with your old key before you sell the amazon one.

Either way, the key doesn't really matter since online play is null for the PC version.

I didn't even check back on here, activated using the Steam Key. Now, when I first bought the DVD version of it I entered the CD-Key, does that mean it's not usable for anyone else? If it's usable, I can possibly get it to someone?

if you entered it in-game, no one else can link it to their 2K account
