Nope, sorry. All my tools target .NET Framework 4. Developing for different frameworks and not the latest one would mean that I'd need to find outdated documentation, not have the latest programming tools and APIs at my disposal...

So, no.

It's "cut on"?

Copy-paste the error report file into PasteBin (google it) and give me the link to take a look.

Doing a careful read of its first post will give you a pretty good insight on what it does.

True enough. 3 new shoes have been added, I've verified that in KMM as well.

Hi Leftos,

Bro, have you noticed that 2K have also changed Roster files to CRB files for some reason. I mean they changed all my roster files namely HAWK, Albys and others, while leaving roster.ROS as is.

On top of that, if you simply rename the files to .ROS, it wont let you play legends and thus become corrupted. Ive tried Hawk roster and the game freezes. I tried to edit the player legends and the game will crash to desktop.

Or has it have anything to do with Keep My Mod, since all these time, an error message keeps appearing?

Renaming roster files to CRB is something KMM does specifically. It doesn't alter them in anyway, other than change their extension. It changes the extension back to ROS once the game does its first resync and saves the latest roster, as explained in the Readme, and you can then load them via Load/Save. Once I take care of the error you're getting that you've sent me in PM, you shouldn't have any issues.

Specific rosters not working with legends or anything like that is not a KMM issue, but an issue of that specific roster.

Re: [Tool] Keep My Mod v0.2.2.4 (Jan 27 = AUDIO PATCH DAY!)

Postby Leftos on Wed Feb 08, 2012 5:50 am

Bad news.

Apparently, when forcing mods and then getting into a game, the game does another pre-game Online Data check that I wasn't able to detect, nor am I able to go around it. That means that if you force your mods, you're going to miss out on every other update 2K has done, since the game doesn't use the Online Data files, but the ones in your installation folder.

I don't know if copying the Online Data into the retail folder will do any good, nor am I willing to risk corrupting my or your installation.

So right now, if you want to use your modded Pistons or Raptors court, you'll have to do without any of the new shoes and the patched audio.

2K is being really stubborn about forcing its updates. We should be able to mix and match its updates and our mods, but apparently it isn't possible.

If any of you tries copying the new shoes into the installation folder and that works, tell me, and I'll make the tool copy 2K's updates to the game folder.

IMPORTANT: There is a workaround, but it's more of a hack than anything. If you want to keep the Pistons and Raptors courts modded, assign them a free stadium ID in REditor, and copy your mods and rename them to that ID. If you're into your Association, you'll need a paid license for REditor.

Re: [Tool] Keep My Mod v0.2.2.4 (Important News)

Postby Leftos on Thu Feb 09, 2012 8:50 pm

Important news & solution
Keeping your mods via this tool is only a solution if you're willing to sacrifice the rest of 2K's updates, such as shoes and the updated audio. I hadn't realized that until now. I don't know if there's a way to fix the tool, because the game's really stubborn about its updates, as I've explained in the above post.

The solution to this, namely keeping your mods AND 2K's updates, requires a paid license to REditor (or a friend who has one).

All you have to do is find the file you want to keep modded, find an unused ID, copy and rename the file, and then assign the new ID in REditor.

For example, step-by-step guide on keeping the Pistons floor modded:
1. Make a copy of f021.iff in the same folder.
2. Rename the copy to f085.iff. If Windows complains that there's a file with that name already, pick another number and try again until you've successfully renamed it.
3. Open your roster/career in REditor, and go to Arenas. Find "The Palace of Auburn Hills". Go to floor ID, change it to 85.

Same goes with any other update that 2K brings up. If it updates a cyberface and you want to keep it modded, change the CF ID of the player after also making a copy of your mod with the new ID.

I'm sorry that I can't automate this right now, but it could be possible to do so if I contact Vlad.

EDIT: I've contacted Vlad to see if I can get his help to fix this. However, IF we do this project and make Keep My Mod work this way, in cooperation with REditor, you'll still need a paid license.

That's the ONLY way to keep both your mods and 2K's updates, as far as I know.

Manage Rosters? This tool doesn't do anything that would crash your game when you enter the Manage Rosters screen.

Start the tool, click on all 3 Restore buttons, close the tool and start the game without it. You shouldn't have any problems.

Well, I can't really guess what you're talking about, because in the first post you talk about one thing, and then in the second thing you quote me saying another.

First of all, if for some reason you can't find your Online Data folder, which I don't know why in the name of whatever's holy has happened, since KMM hasn't ever done that to me as long as I've been using it, nor does it actually mess with that folder per se, you can always go to
%APPDATA%\2K Sports\NBA 2K12
and create a folder named
Online Data
inside there, then extract whatever Online Data you've downloaded there.

Until I build the new, completely different Keep My Mod which will use a different and verified method of forcing your mods (you will only have to run it once per roster and once every game art update), if you want to keep the rest of 2K's updates, don't use Keep My Mod.

I don't get what you mean by the game can't access the folder. Obviously, you're not even logging in to 2K's servers for it to use the Online Data. So make sure you're connected to the internet on your game computer, and also make sure that the game is also connected to the 2K servers. Have you created a Μy 2K Αccount? Is it logging in on start-up? Do you get yesterday's scores on the main screen? Can you access online?

If you were never able to access these features, you shouldn't be asking this question in this thread. This thread is for Keep My Mod related issues only, and that's what I'm offering support for. My time to answer generic support requests regarding the game is limited, and those questions should go into the main NBA 2K12 subforum, not in a tool's thread.

So if you never before had access to those features, you have to create a My 2K Account in-game, so that the game connects to 2K's servers.

That's the last piece of generic, non-tool related advice I'm giving in this thread. If you have a problem like this one that has nothing to do with KMM, keep it to the main subforum.
