Someone have heard the trade Boozer-Korver for Gasol?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

That's the first I've heard of it, sounds like wishful thinking/fan speculation to say the least. Aside from the fairness of the trade given the talent involved, if the Lakers do trade Gasol they'll be looking to trim their payroll and acquiring Boozer will not help them do that. I don't think there's any way the Bulls could pass up that deal but I highly doubt the Lakers would ever make a trade like that or that it's even been discussed.

George7 wrote:Solid debut for Rip last night vs Indiana! Really seemed like he was in the team for more time than he actually is, finding and being found by teammates with ease! I hope he's going to be the best fit for the Bulls. Boozer had a nice game last night as well, that's what he can offer to the team, and it's a shame if he repeats last season's performances, now that he's totally recovered...

Oh,and as it seems Cj Watson got my favorite number, #7 and the number one of my favs, Ben Gordon wore in the Bulls... Wishing him all the luck with his new number...

Yeah go RIP. so that's what a fast break with 2 guys running on the wing looks like ;)

there was a lot to like about his debut. my favs were Rip bringing the ball up/initating the fast break and him posting up on Collison.

good times yesterday.

IMO the refs called it too tight. RIP never got in a rhythm. Brewer filled in nicely.

Rose did seem to a little passive for most of the game but you can't criticize that when he makes 4 from downtown and the game winning shot :)

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Surprised how D-Rose never got to shoot a free throw.

Nice way to open the season, an exciting finish with clutch play at both ends to get the job done on the road. That early foul trouble for Rip definitely hurt though.

Pretty disappointing loss to follow up an exciting season opener. I didn't catch the game but glancing at the boxscores, it seems like they just couldn't match the Warriors offensively, let alone lock them down at the other end. Not a good night for Rose (though at least he got to the line a bit) and pretty much nothing from Boozer. I guess every team will have nights like that and we should expect some out of sync play and unexpected results from everyone early on in this lockout afflicted season. Still, they're better than that.

On a more positive note, there'll be a few Bulls games shown here over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, they'll be better performances than yesterday's outing.

yeh they got their asses handed to them.. again by GSW. got to see the both Noah & Boozer-less lineup in the 4th though..

up next Sacto. the former Memphis Tigers guard (can't say alumni lol) matchup is always a good watch.

Looks like old 'avoid the contact' Derrick Rose is back. It's not like he's afraid of contact, I think he's just skilled enough to intentionally avoid getting fouled when he goes inside. But with the amount of shots he's getting he should be able to draw some fouls and FT attempts.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Wed Dec 28, 2011 1:56 pm

Agreed. He was doing a much better job of it last season, I trust that he can get back to doing that and finding a good balance for his assertiveness on offense.

Good to see them bounce right back against the Kings. Not Rose's best game with the turnovers and five fouls, but a better night shooting the ball and eight assists is a decent number for his style of play at the point. Solid performances elsewhere too, 16 and 15 for Boozer. If he can get 15-18 points a night with at least 8-10 rebounds and more on a night when Noah isn't cleaning up on the boards, they'll be getting their money's worth from him in my opinion. Bit of a quiet one for Deng but nice games from Hamilton and Brewer.

Clippers game is being shown here tomorrow, I'll probably get to see most of it before I head down to Sydney for New Year's Eve. Picking them to win in the daily predictions thread though I'm expecting it to be a tough one if they can pull it off.

Fuck me sideways, that was fun to watch. It's a shame that the Bulls've only got the Clippers once this year, because they're a great matchup for each other. Rose and Paul head-to-head was awesome. Blake Griffin going berserk was also (objectively) very, very cool.

Nice return to form from Noah, especially from the line. Good contributions from Deng and Hamilton as well.

No. Just no.

Playing that thing in slow-motion has to violate some sort of broadcasting law, surely?

Hey, if he makes 9 out of 10 shots, then I'm ok with him handballing his free throws, Jobe Watson-style.

I left for Sydney just as the game was starting and had resolved not to check on the score, but then I went onto Facebook on my phone and of course saw the result. Definitely good news though and sounds like it was fun one to watch; I recorded it so I'll probably sit down and watch it this evening or maybe tomorrow. Great game by Rose. (Y)

Of interest: Sam Smith's blog post on the game and a piece on Rose from Marc Spears over on Yahoo! NBA.

Fine game for the home opener. (Y) Both Watson and Rip are banged up, though.

Watched the whole game yesterday, gotta say I was really impressed!! To sit your starters in the whole 4th quarter and in the most of the 3rd quarter and still maintain the lead and even raise it,is a great feat, even though the Grizzlies had also given up after a while and played with the bench mob as well...

John Lucas was a pleasant surprise, played really good out of nowhere ,and if Watson misses next game,i think he can fill a part of his absence, though C.J. has been terrific so far... All in all, suffocating D, quick offense(even without D-Rose),great job from the bench, starters took a rest and both Boozer and Brewer seems to be in shape this season!

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Jan 03, 2012 12:48 am

Brewer's shooting 100% from three point range through the first five games of the season, almost good for one per game so far. It's not his forte but if he's knocking them down this year, it's certainly a welcome sight for the Bulls.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Tue Jan 03, 2012 3:58 am

Brewer has developed a rather awkward but yet effective jumper this season. He seems to be far more energetic and making a little more his game. I read all around the net that Brewer was one of the most improved and hard-working players in the training camp, and I'm really glad to see this kind of effort starting the season as well. And of course, the fact that Brewer was never considered a long range threat(and his primary role isn't this on the squad),makes this a pleasant surprise. As you said Andrew,if he knocks the 3-pointers down this season, this is for sure a welcome sight for the team...

Not a great game on the whole, but a pretty impressive comeback. Hopefully it doesn't come down to that too often though.

Solid win over the Pistons to make it five in a row. Some of the games may not have been that pretty but on the whole, a pretty good start to the season.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jan 05, 2012 6:32 pm

Deng is probably playing too many minutes. He's absolutely justifying them (aside from against Detroit), but you have to wonder if it might take its toll in this compacted season.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jan 05, 2012 8:26 pm

Is it only me,or the best impact Rip having on the team is not his scoring, but the fact that he is able to find all the time cutting teammates, unlocking easily the opposition's D?? I mean,we all knew he was going to score, but this particular aspect of his game really impresses me...

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jan 05, 2012 8:45 pm

Yeah, he's looking like he'll be a good pickup all around. Hopefully he does still have a couple of good years left in him. He at least seems to be giving it all to his new team, unlike another former (now once again current) Piston who signed on with the Bulls some years back.

We were never to speak of him again. So it was decreed.
