Just converted Glen's 2K11 Kemp - Shawn Kemp Face Patch - to 2K12 with Blender.

Import both the 2K11 and 2K12 n2km files into blender, one will be NBA2km.001 or something on the left side (the scene list)

select the 2k11 headshape mesh, do NOT go into edit mode

press ctrl + L to copy it into the other scene, specifically into the 2k12 scene

Delete the 2k11 scene from the project (up at the top, you'll see "SCE:NBA2KM" in a drop down box, hit the X next to it to delete the 2k11 scene after you select it)

Then look at the 2k12 scene objects. They should all be renamed with .001 behind them and you will have two kemp face datas in the same scene.

select the 2k12 mesh (the one you are overwriting) right click it in the scene list, then hit delete.

then ctrl + click the imported 2k11 mesh to rename it to what the 2k12 mesh was before you deleted it.

then ctrl + click to rename the rest of the objects in the scene to remove the .001's.

then realign the eyes and whatnot

Thanks for the tutorial. Does anyone know if it works for (converting) 2K10 headshapes (to 2K12 ones) as well?

Hi all! i've been trying to convert 2k11 n2km to 2k12, and find unsuccessful, here's my problem.. every time i import my edited n2km file, modtool shows undefinable structure (more like a cube with so many edges)

and another thing, when i import n2km from 2k11, the 3D is viewed bigger, but when i import n2km from 2k12, the 3D is smaller.

Please someone help me :bowdown2:

NOW I KNOW THE SOLUTION!

just have to use the new modtool and get rid of the 2k11 one..

Can it convert 2k10, 2k11 or 2k12 faces into 2k9?

I can't open n2km files on Autodesk 3ds Max 2012...
It doesn't even give that option... only .max, .drf. and .chr
I copyed n2kmod.ms and even ble_n2km_export.py and ble_n2km_import.py into Autodesk\3ds Max 2012\Scripts\Startup, but it still don't appear that file extension for me to select...

What am I doing wrong?

Is it possible to use any players head shape in nba 2k12 and convert it with another head shape from 2k11?
for example i used Derrick Rose's 2k12 headshape and i will put Rafer Alston's 2k11 headshape onto it?

i got the same problem too. im done exporting files from the mod tool but can't open n2km files or whatever that is in 3Dsmax 2010. i dont know how to start importing. do i have to install plugins for this first? what files needed and what are the first steps?

it sucks being a noob at this software and it sucks harder when no one can teach you about it :(

hello man, when you say attach every object on the 2k12 face to the 2k11 face?

can we attach them all at the same time? or do I have to attach them one by one?

edit: I couldn't successfuly convert it because there are 2 more objects on the 2k12 headshape than the 2k11 headshape, and I couldn't attach those two to an object on a 2k11 headshape, how will I be able to deal with that?
