June 24, 2012; Portland, OR - The Boston Celtics are your 2012 NBA champions. Containing LaMarcus Aldridge and using a huge game from the big 3 (+ Rondo), the Celtics used a third quarter run to handily defeat the Blazers in Portland. Paul Pierce led the way with 28 points and 10 rebounds.

The title is the Celtics' 18th in franchise history, and their second in five years (2008). Rajon Rondo has averaged 14.7 points, 8.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game in these playoffs, and was presented the 2012 NBA Finals MVP award following the game.

Thanks guys. Having second thoughts on season 2 though. I haven't witnessed this in anybody else's story, but in season 2, the standings and scheduling get really fucked up. Right now, two teams had their records revert to 0-1 after the all-star break, while the Knicks have played more than 29 games already. Not to mention Portland is my most likely team for 2K12.

We'll see how it goes. I'm into March and may sim/play it out some rainy day. If there's interest, I do have a lot of content backlogged for season 2 of this.

2K12 < 2K11

Tough end for this man That 29+ games, 0-1 records thing, never happened to me. I'm playing 2K12 now and it's much better.

I'm curious to see if X had this problem, since he also played multiple 29 game seasons. It might just be my game, but from season 2 and beyond in Association Mode (2K11), the mode becomes a glitchy disaster. The stats are startlingly inaccurate, and for some reason, it's unsettling to see teams' records suddenly become like 0-2. Features from NBA.com disappear, the commentary becomes a joke and every PG under 27 eventually develops into a star.

I know 2K12 has its own set of issues - the deal-breaker trade logic bug in My Player/Create A Legend, its own glitchy stats (leading the league in FG% with 4.16237834) and of course the lack of a usable roster or slider set as of yet. However, I look forward to moving on, after how enjoyable this was.

Nah, I haven't come across all these glitches that you are referring about. I started my Association using pretty much 2k default rosters or thereabouts. It started pre-patches. Never had any problem with records or NBA.com issues.

Not sure what the cause is, but either way its game-breaking. Waiting on a complete Rashidi roster (hopefully by the new year) to start a 2K12 association. After how enjoyable this one was, I'm excited.

Time to close the prediction game. Justine pegged it, but not a kind round to anybody else but shadowgrin, who clinched first place overall by picking Boston.
