With advertising basically guaranteeing that you'll get laid if you use it, I used several varieties of Lynx for many years. Now I'm more partial to Rexona roll on deodorants.

^many girls here in the US actually do like the smell of it (Axe, the US version)
it's funny because the stuff is less than $10 while traditional colognes are well over 50-60 dollars

^ I agree. Smells like shit.

Genius marketing gets them the sales. It's definitely not because of a quality product.

Genius advertising and the occasional offhand remark from a woman taken too far. As Drew Carey recounted in his book:

One time, a college girl I had been flirting with at a bar complimented me on my cologne. It wasn't a big compliment, she just mentioned it in passing.

"What's that you're wearing?" she asked, not even looking my way.
"Brute," I answered.
"Oh, I like Brute," she said, getting up to leave.

I thought I had heard a secret key to scoring with women. "Ah ha!" I thought. "Chicks dig Brute!"

Within a week, I was Brute Man.

I think the advertising for Brut here is probably the most lowest common denominator stuff you can get. I find the "wear this and get laid" concept works more than the "if you don't wear this, you're not a man" message.

The ads for Brut over here in Aus always make me laugh. They're ridiculous... and it's so obvious their advertising strategy... the whole "man" thing..
The ads are just like...
SURFING!
UTE!
FOOTBALL!
ROCK MUSIC!
BEER!
MOTORBIKE!
BABE!
BRUT!
I'M A MEERRRNNN!!!!

phpBB [video]

And then it's topped off with the laughably lame moto - "STILL BRUTALLY MALE!!!! YYYAAAAARRRRRGGGG!!!!" (note: dramatised for reader's entertainment)

I always wonder whether people are actually aware of ads like this... or whether you just have dumb dumbs all around australia watching the ad and see the stuff in it (surfboard, car, babe, etc) and just think "oh coooooool!" and subconsciously connect Brut to something they're interested in. I fucking hope not.

It must be the male urine that the company puts in it to attract the females.

Tried looking for Jae's/any type of unscented deodorants in the supermarket a few days ago. Seems like deodorant manufacturers think that pinoys stink like feet since there is no unscented deodorant except one...

My search wasn't help since this promo lady kept following me as I looked at the deodorants available at the aisle. To rid myself of her and not to embarrass her because she was just standing there after following me for quite some time and me not giving her much attention I asked if there were any unscented ones. She quickly pointed to the one beside her, which happens to be a deodorant for women and worse it has that whitening shite that I don't really need or want.

Did some online searching and found out that Mitchum is only available in a beauty clinic and its corresponding branches. Probably expensive if that's the case. For that I'll still be an Old Spice man.
