i have a small problem: fatigue indicator is NOT visible. names are shown but there is no circle underneath the player in control. no problem on offense but it's kind of tricky to play defense without knowing which player i have in control... i have tried to play 2k 2011 - works fine there.
any idea?
I think it's got something to do with the global or some sort of file that was included with the mod. I'd like to have all this stuff back too, any idea what file this was?

The only things ive been adjusting are many ratings. For anyone wondering, Karl malone most glaringly needs to be adjusted in alot of areas, such as lower his 95 quickness and speed, and raise his 75 rebound numbers. Chris Mullin should be left handed. If there arent too many I will make more notes on what other ratings should be fixed. There are definitely a handful of players on each team, but overall I'd say about 75% are dead on and will play realistic and sim realistic stats.

Well theres always the element of chance when you recreate a season, just from the randomness of the game, and the different injuries that take place in real life or in the game. we all have to always remember that. Not to mention the different schedules, since we cant edit schedules in mods. So your always playing the season in an alternate reality, but thats the fun in it. What if this player did or didn't end up getting injured? Or what if this team underperformed/overperformed? or could I take this team that never made it to the finals?
But the edits im making are definitely going to effect how players perform, and it will produce more realistic results than you might be seeing in the original release. When you talking about player ratings and how they translate to stats, you really have to look beyond the numbers they produced that season. I also use a 3 year composite instead of just basing everything on one season. For example, while a 25-30% 3 point shooter might seem to warrant a 70 3 point rating, if that player averaged 35-40% in years prior and after, I will rate the player and 85 or so 3 point shooter. I like to play several years into association, so I dont need 1 year wonders like having hall of fame careers. I also have personan notes & info on what players were really clutch and how many game winners they hit, so we wont have to go as much on reputation and myth.
-a certain player may have had a dropoff in scoring, but is that because he lost his ability to score, or because he happened to take less shots?
-Should a player who went 90+% from the ft linebut only took 30 free throws and never played another season deserve a better ft rating than Reggie Miller if Reggie only went 86 from the line? No!
-Does a player average 10+ rebounds a game because he is a 90+ level re bounder, or because he happened to be on a team where all the other rebounders were that lacking?
- Did a player average 20+ points because he was as efficient as someone like Jordan or Reggie Miller, or because he averaged 20+ shots per game and was actually a negative to his time?
- Even the obvious, like of course centers average less turnovers than point guards, but thats because the point guards handle the ball, not because the centers have better handles
I also like to get into how a player got the stats they got. For example, Barkley got his rebounds late in his career because he was skilled at rebounding and knew the ins and outs, not because of his vertical or quickness. By contrast, Shawn Kemp got rebounds based on his leaping ability but was often clueless when it came to being in position and maneuvering for the rebound. Gheorge Muresan and Shawn Bradley often had better 'per 36 minute' block numbers than Alonzo Mourning, but that was because of their giant height. Mourning was clearly one ofthe most skilled shot blockers of all time.. If you know what to edit all of these little things can be replicated in the game in some form.
"Per 36 minutes" stats are something I find really useful. It allows all players to be given an estimate of what they would produce if they were starters. Theres not one player i edit where I dont look over the per 36 minutes stats. You wont find them on NBA.com, but I have always used basketball-reference.com Those are just some of the things im doing and traking into consideration in my rating edits. The base rosters are really solid so it makes what im doing less time consuming. You can get a good experience with the original rosters, but the edits im doing are just for people who want to take the accuracy a step deeper.
Luckily ive made 90's rosters for so many years on the 360 that I can almost go from memory by now, which saves alot of time. I know what ratings translate into what stats. I worked so tirelessly on a 98/99 roster for nba 2k10 for months before my computer crashed and I lost everything. I dont even want to think about it lol. Still, its alot of work for one person, so the more things that need tweaking that you guys point out the better. i just want to make this great mod even more enjoyable for me and everyone, and also have a great roster base for future mods.
