Jennings and Beasley named as Players of the Week
• Posted: November 20, 2011 07:11 AM EDT
NEW YORK -- The NBA just announced recently that Brandon Jennings and Michael Beasley has just been named Players of the Week for November 12-19, 2011. Jennings has lead the Milwaukee Bucks to the top place in the Eastern Conference so far as Elton Brand, Brandon Jennings and Stephen Jackson lead the new group of Bucks to a 4-0 win/lose record. Unfortunately, Jennings and the Bucks lost back to back games in their previous two game they've played on the road in Charlotte, NC and in Minneapolis, MIN which makes the Bucks win/lose record now at 4-2. Despite that Jennings has showed a promising and bright potential multi-All Star as he posted 25 PPG and 9 APG this past week. The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the breakout teams along with the Minnesota Timberwolves this season as they are starting to look neater than ever after the Bucks' lost production from Redd and after the Wolves' lost Garnett. "Jennings really deserves this award. Although it only lasts for a week, its still an award that you should be proud of when you earn this kind of opportunity. We also wish more awards for Jennings in his career."
He is called "The Next Big Thing" by 2K Sports's Play by Play analyst Kevin Harlan after Michael Beasley broke the record for most points in a game by a Timberwolves with 57 Points. Well the story for the Timberwolves is sort off a much opposite than of the Bucks, the Timberwolves started with a bad win/lose record of 0-2, but a solid team effort the Wolves were able to win and thanks to Beasley who lead the Timberwolves to 5 straight wins this season and take note that Beasley scored 20 or more Points in the Wolves' 4 times in the Wolves' previous 5 games so far this season. Beasley is currently recording a career high of 21 PPG and over this past week, Beasley has recorded 26 PPG and 8 RPG. With the Timberwolves' sudden loss on defense in the form of Rookie Enes Kanter due to unknown reasons, Beasley has always shown his rampage mode since Kanter's absence and Beasley has been the Timberwolves scoring and rebounding leader over the past week. "It's definitely a great feeling and honor for this award, just gotta strive more and more for our team to prove everyone wrong who thought the we will not make the Playoffs. But we will!"

Timberwolves - Mavericks Notebook

THE FACTS: As the Wolves would go and try to snatch their 8th straight win this season, they came out really fierce and ready to grab that 8th straight, unfortunately they weren't able to snatch that one just yet. The Timberwolves and the Dirk-less Mavericks battled to a furious extension period at overtime and again, unfortunately for the Timberwolves Michael Beasley who is the Timberwolves' top scorer who recorded 40 Points in this game failed on two crucial possessions that was eventually the reason to the Wolves' heart breaking loss.
THE STAT: Tyson Chandler probably has to receive this, even with out flashy numbers Chandler managed to score 13 Points and 13 Rebounds and played a huge role in the Mavs' overtime run despite foul trouble.
HOT: After a month of trying to search his stroke, Richard Hamilton finally got his stroke back in a sexy fashion, Hamilton made his mark in the second quarter as he went to score 13 at the second quarter without missing even a single shot, although he missed one shot in the fourth, Hamilton still had a solid game off the bench. The Mavs' couldn't have got passed the streaking Timberwolves' without their defensive guy Corey Brewer and the Mavs' top scorer Jason Terry. Brewer managed to snatch 5 steals and was the reason behind the infamous "Beasley Failure" that was just enacted in tonight's game. The Jet managed to put the Mavs' on his shoulders when the Mavs were down but "The Matrix" Shawn Marion delivered the game winning shot on a fastbreak behind Beasley's turnover.
NOT: What's not tonight was probably the fourth quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Michael Beasley and Ricky Rubio wasn't able to hold a steady lead against the Mavericks and as a result their turnovers were a huge difference maker in the game. Although the Rubio dished out 17 Assists and Beasley scored 40 Points, still those turnovers were big.
QUOTABLE: "He might be the Next Big Thing, but tonight he didn't prove that he could be the Next Big Thing on a nightly basis. Despite a 40 Point performance from him, he wasn't able to deliver in the clutch moments in this game." - Stephen A. Smith![]()

Heat - Timberwolves Notebook
• Posted: December 4, 2011 12:32 NN EDT
THE FACTS: After a close start to the game for both teams, the Miami Heat got their push in the second and third quarter that pushed the Heat's lead to double digits behind a ultra dominant performance by LeBron James but the Timberwolves would find their way back in the fourth quarter behind Kevin Love, Love posted up and scored at will in the interior but then Michael Beasley and Ricky Rubio came to town and both drained a desperation three pointer that gave the Timberwolves the heart to fight till the end with one minute left with the Heat leading by 5 points. But then the real hero of tonight's game is the Timberwolve's Wesley Johnson who scored a 6-0 run all by himself by making LeBron James turn the ball over and Johnson went coast to coast for the win over the struggling Miami Heat. the Heat's standing now stands at a ugly 3-8 Win/Lose record.
THE STAT: Kevin Love recorded a season high on 3 categories in tonight's win over the Heat, Love posted 30 Points, 15 Rebounds and 6 Assists.
HOT: Not much to say about LeBron James's performance tonight as he carried his team at will scoring 39 Points and 6 Assists but his effort wasn't enough to the Timberwolves very own, "Fab Four" composed of Kevin Love, Michael Beasley, Ricky Rubio and Wesley Johnson. Their solid team effort in the fourth quarter lead the Timberwolves to a stunning comeback as they rallied as much as 24 Points in the third quarter and fourth quarter combined. Although they got a boost off the bench from Anthony Tolliver as he continues he's hot streak as he posted 3/4 3 Pt. FG in tonight's game and was a huge part of the Timberwolves' fabulous run in the fourth quarter.
NOT: Tonight's Not Hot recognition goes to the Miami Heat's bench, the Heat's bench played really sloppy and as their sloppiness was a key to the Timberwolves' comeback win over the Heat.
QUOTABLE: "I'm really speechless at this point, i'm just so impressed by my boys out there. I thought the game belonged to the Heat, but no, my boys really got what i'm talking about." - Wolves' Head Coach, George Karl
QUOTABLE II: "You can see the passion and desire to win in the faces of those Minnesota Timberwolves players." - Heat Head Coach, Eric Spoelstra
QUOTABLE III: "Can't believe it was just a season ago we were a team to beat, now were struggling to win games for over a month now!" - Heat Forward, LeBron James![]()
