I probably should have done that part over a couple of weeks instead of just one day, but in order to stop them re-signing those guys it had to be done.

I'm really interested to see if they can manage to sign a few big names next season.

New arrivals attend first training session with Thunder

Image

Shaquille O'Neal and Marvin Williams met up with their new team mates at their first training session as Thunder players today.
"It's great to be here", said Williams. "There is such a professional vibe around this place. Everyone here has a winning mentality."
He also revealed that he spoke to former Atlanta team mate Al Horford about the move after he learned that he'd been traded.
"I gave Al a call last night after I found out that I'd be coming here. He had nothing but good things to say about this place."

Shaq was a bit more relaxed by the whole situation. "This is the seventh time I've done this", he said with a smile on his face.
"It's always great to meet up with everyone when you join a new team. There's some young guys here. I'm old enough to be their father."

The Thunder face a tough home game against the in-form Knicks tomorrow night. This time Amare Stoudemire is fit and expected to play.
The reigning league MVP was injured earlier in the season when the Thunder won in New York. He hopes to help avenge that 18 point loss.

LIKE A BOSH! Holy shit, he's putting up amazing numbers.

Interesting trade, Marvin doesn't really affect this team too much. Shaq wants another title, good pick-up, though I prefer Thabust.

Weird to see Bosh leading the way for the Heat, somehow I don't think that will be happening any time soon. Still looks like we're on course for another Thunder/Heat clash in the Finals. I see the Bulls have fallen down the standings again though. :(

Thanks guys. Between my two dynasties I've played 399 regular game seasons, 8 all-star weekend games & 93 playoff games. :P

Andrew wrote:That's a huge shakeup for the Sixers. Good to see Shaq back in the league for one last shot at a ring...I kind of wonder if the real Shaq will consider a comeback, following the long rest that the lockout may provide.

Perhaps I'm just acting vicariously through the 76ers to accomplish what I wouldn't mind doing with my own team this off-season. But also It would be nice to have a different team challenging Miami in the East for a change.
I signed Shaq for two reasons. As veteran backup for Lopez and Ibaka and as a nice element to the overall story.

Larvae wrote:Two Heat Players up for grabs at the MVP? Not a good sign :facepalm2:

Miami are absolutely dominating. At one point they were on a 16 game winning streak. Fernandez is on a poor Hornets team, which is probably why he is scoring so much.

Bosh is insane. Him and Stoudemire are making everyone look bad this season. I'd say he gives me more balance and a bench of quality rather than quantity. Thabeet was cool but his contract was up at the end of the year anyway.

With a little help. :shifty:

The weird thing is that he has outplayed Wade and LeBron pretty much all the way through this game. It's probably between him and Stoudemire for MVP.
Chicago were just hanging on to 8th spot last time I looked. I'm a little behind in posting games.

Good win. Seeing Mo Williams post huge numbers once again makes me hope they fix up the point guard domination issues in the next game though.

Pretty cool block by Durant, it's fun when stuff like that happens in games. If they can get the physics working properly in future games, we'll probably see more stuff like that.
