Your #1 news source for Suns BasketballSuns looking to unload Childress?
November 4, 2010 7:15 PM EDT
Sources say Suns newly signed forward Josh Childress is currently being shopped by the Suns who just acquired him this past offseason. Many teams have shown interest in Josh Childress, teams like the Grizzlies, Bobcats and the Nuggets.
Fans question this decision the of the Suns GM. Suns GM says that offers from the Grizz's, Cats and the Nuggets are pretty much great benefits for both teams.
In an interview with Suns head Coach Alvin Gentry, Gentry responds to the decision of the Suns to shop Childress.
"Childress is great fit to this team, he's athletic and can play both ends on the floor, you've seen him play i guess, i'd say Blanks should give him more time adjusting to the system."
Childress played awful last night against the Hawks.
1st Half Story: The Suns entered the game with a 11-2 run in the early minutes, But just before the 11-2 run, Suns Center Marcin Gortat hurt his ankle while rebounding the basketball and landed on the wrong foot, but would eventually return in the last 2 minutes of the 1st Quarter, yet again turnovers had been a problem for the Suns this season and yet affected them yet again, ending the 1st Quarter on a 10-0 run by the Bulls, led by Luol Deng and Derrick Rose. The 2nd Quarter opened up by a 3 pt. shootout by both the Bulls Luol Deng and the Suns Vince Carter/Grant Hill who had one each in the second, but yet, Pietrus and Frye hurt the Suns chances of taking over the game, both have gone into the 2nd Quarter looking for their shots but couldn't find it and the Bulls Derrick Rose and Luol Deng took control of the lead.
2nd Half Story: 3rd Quarter had a lot of action early on and later on, both teams got physical, hard fouls on each other, and it was a competitive, thrilling fun game to watch. In the 4th Quarter, Alvin Gentry turned on his bench and had huge faith in them, trailing by 10, the Suns got just what they would expect from their bench, Aaron Brooks who had a magnificent game against the Nets with 27 points, brought it back in the 4th Quarter against the Bulls, his first 3 shots of the game turned into 3 straight 3 pointers but missed the potential 4th straight 3, but got back on track on their next possesion. Without Hakim Warrick in the game, Lopez turned it around with his defense and Jared Dudley's play were just what the Suns needed to get back on track. With the last 15 seconds of the game left, (100-98, in favor of the Bulls) Marcin Gortat scored his only basket of the night off a pick and roll play that tied the game at 100 a piece, with 7 seconds left. The Bulls would have one chance to win the game (Which turned out to be 2 attempts by Deng) but just missed it at the buzzer twice.
OT/2OT: The OT was in a more tough competitive match, as the Bulls scored the first 4 points of the OT period and the pressure turned on the Suns, but veteran Grant Hill and Vince Carter was in top form. Both would carry the Suns back in the game in OT, Grant Hill could have saved the night for the Suns but just came up blocked by Joakim Noah, in 2OT Steve Nash finally delivered for the Suns and scored 5 out of his 7 points in the 2nd Overtime including a huge 3, as for the Suns to maintain the lead, they played defense on Luol Deng and Derrick Rose, and both haven't delivered for the Bulls as both ran cold, Credits to Grant Hill for the defensive effort, and for the finishing blow that would turn it all upside down. Grant Hill delivered his 37th Points via a Floater over Carlos Boozer, and would mark as Grant Hill's most points scored in a game in nearly or more than a decade since his departure from Detroit, and the Suns would run on to win the game. This game marked as the Suns 2nd Straight Win.Suns Top Performers G.Hill, 37 Points | 6 Rebounds | 3 Assists

1st Half Story: Suns and the Hornets went head to head from the first minute, as both teams would exchange leads from almost about every minute, Vince Carter went on to turn up the heat, got hot early hitting 2 from downtown in the First, the Suns thought they would have the upper hand in the first until Paul hit a running shot at the Buzzer to take a one point lead. 2nd Quarter was a quarter to remember for Carl Landry who came off the bench firing from all cylinders but Carter would still get it going with his hot hand from outside and inside, Grant Hill picked up where he left off the other game, but the Hornets trailed for some reasons behind Trevor Ariza who hasn't made even a single shot yet.
2nd Half Story: The 3rd Quarter, starring Carl Landry who was carrying them on the glass and in the paint, But the veteran duo of Grant Hill and Vince Carter yet again would battle Carl Landry, still, Frye and Ariza haven't made even a single shot and still continues to miss. In the 4th, Ariza caught fire! scoring 14 Points in the Quarter, and would give the Hornets a 10 Point lead over the Suns in the Last 3 minutes of the game, but its in the 4th that the Suns Bench turns red hot, but Aaron Brooks seems really cold, but Jared Dudley would score 5 consecutive points and Carter would add 5 more as the Suns would run a 10-0 run over the last 2 minutes, in the last seconds, with all tied at 104 Chris Paul would get a chase down block from Marcin Gortat and on the next possession Chris Paul again was denied by Grant Hill, but David West would score back. Last 7 seconds, Nash ties the game at 110 with 3 seconds remaining for the Hornets to make a shot. Ariza misses the wide open Three Pointer.
OT: In OT, both teams would scrap for the ball, it was anyone's ball game, But Ariza worked over time scored 6 points in OT that would bring back the Hornets to a 1 point 117-118 lead over the Suns, Vince Carter could have won the game, but Carter seemed to bring style over substance, as a result the double clutch shot, was missed just shortly.![]()

Your #1 news source for Suns BasketballDowdell & Siler Sent Down to the NBA-DL's Iowa Energy
November 18, 2010 9:11 AM EDT
Suns GM and Owner have decided to send down Guard Zabian Dowdell and Center Garret Siler, Suns GM says that he would probably send them down than just sitting around the bench for the whole game, Suns Head Coach says "Dowdell has still room for improvement, so does Siler but they would have to go back and prove to us something more, we know they can do better so they better prove us more!".
Center Garret Siler was a former 5th Overall Pick by the NBA D-League's Utah Flash, Siler also was a former 08-09 Division II All-American while playing for Augusta State University and also hold the record for best shooting percentage while playing for Augusta State University. Dowdell is formerly played for Virginia Tech from 2003-2007 and also a 06-07 All American honorable mention while averaging 17.1 PPG | 3.1 APG | 3.6 RPG | 2.1 SPG while playing for Virginia Tech. Dowdell has played numerous times at the NBA Summer League.
Everybody remembers the Epic 2OT game between the Suns and the Bulls last November 9, now lets see the rematch!
1st Half Story: As Bulls prepare for their revenge against the Suns, the Bulls locker room was seemingly quiet and looks like they are ready for the war. Both teams opened up the first few minutes of the game with the crowd roaring so loud players could not even communicate well, but both teams kept the focus and determination to the game, both teams would exchange leads almost every possession, Slam after slam, 3 after 3, it was just a thrilling opening quarter. As the 2nd Quarter started the Suns quickly gained the upper hand, with Nash on the bench, little man Aaron Brooks stood up big scoring 8 consecutive points in the quarter, as the Bulls continue their offensive woes the Suns wasted no time and took charge from there.
2nd Half Story: The Bulls were down big, the Bulls quickly scored a 6-0 run over the Suns, but it seems the Suns would quickly get it back, Grant Hill once again starred in the game, well in the Third to be specific, Grant Hill entered the 2nd Half with just two points, but Grant Hill scored 12 of his 20 points in the Third, but the Suns were not done yet, Jared Dudley, Mickael Pietrus, Aaron Brooks and Hakim Warrick would add more to the Suns big lead. Derrick Rose struggled in the 2nd and so did Luol Deng, both tried to repeat their performance against the Suns but it went the other way around, the scoring woes continues. This win makes the Suns 2-0 against the Bulls this season.![]()
