Cavs @ Trail Blazers

Postby Cruzerr on Sat May 21, 2011 2:37 am

*Sorry for the horrible pictures, had to take my own.
Trail Blazers win at home, tie season series

Image

First Quarter

As the last time these teams met, Cleveland had a pretty easy victory, as they won 109-86. This time however, as the Blazers are undefeated at home, things would tense up. It started off as a really close game, but when the game got near the four minute mark, Portland went on a 15-6 run to control the game. When T-Will hit a buzzer-beater, it ended as 25-19.

Clevelands top scorer : B.Griffin 8 PTS 4 REB 2 BLK
Trail Blazers top scorer : L.Aldridge 8 PTS 3 REB 1 STL

Second Quarter

Things started off just as things left in the first. Both teams were scoring visa-versa and it was a six point ball game. However, it took Ricky Rubio, Nicolas Batum and Brandon Roy, to turn the game completely around, as they got the lead to 20 points. It seemed that Cleveland was dominated on the boards and had no chance to fight back. Blake or nobody else could step up also. Newly signed Ivan Johnson got his first minutes of play, but he did not do anything.

Clevelands top scorer : T.Williams 9 PTS 1 REB 1 AST
Trail Blazers top scorer : B.Roy 17 PTS 2 REB 4 AST 1 STL 1 BLk

Third Quarter

It started off just like the other two. It took some time but Roy and Aldridge got the game going. Cleveland got the game to 10 some point, as they went on a 12-4 run, but it was no use, as Portlands big-men dominated everybody and got the game back up 20. Later, with two minutes left, again Cleveland started to show some hope, but with the all dominating game of Aldridge and Oden, it was no use, as it ended 79-61.

Clevelands top scorer : B.Griffin 14 PTS 8 REB 2 AST 1 STL 2 BLK
Trail Blazers top scorer : B.Roy 21 PTS 2 REB 5 AST 1 STL 1 BLK

Forth Quarter

As it seemed that they would somehow get back, it was no chance. From the first minutes to the last, it was all Portland game. All though, Griffin had some solid rebounding in that quarter and DeRozan put up some points too. But considering the game of Roy and the big men of the Trail Blazers, nobody could stop them from dominating in the paint and blocking every shot near the rim. Fun fact- the score was pretty similar to the one in Cleveland, only visa-versa.

Press conference :
"Roy, your huge game has carried this team to places, yet the playoff spot is not certain. What do you think that needs to be done about your playoff chances?"
"First off, I want to thank you about commenting on my game. We are on fire at home and with LaMarcus back, I think we can get the fifth or sixth seed.

"Blake, your team was dominated but at home you dominated them. What happened?"
"Well, as you know, I did not play the home game. But considering that Portland is undefeated at home, it is no wonder that we lost. The fans are extatic and really love their team."

Conclusion :
As Portland needs every win they can get to get a proper seed in the West, this huge home game streak helps them a lot. About Cleveland, this loss does not hurt them badly, as they will get a better look at their opponents, Pacers and Heat, as they meet each other tomorrow.

Valdis, Yeah, With Parker having his last season and DeRozan is really young, I want Parker to finish his season starting every game or so. If he retires, the spot goes to DeRozan

homicide1550, It way. Tried to bounce back but had no chance.

osaki, Griffin dominates even if I lose. The team "right now" seems to be pretty young and with a lot of talent.

Draft Combine

Postby Cruzerr on Sun May 22, 2011 4:46 am

We are at it again, it is time for the Draft Combine !

Image

When I saw this guy playing, I was like "Monta Ellis!" He just played like him. And what still wonders me about this shooting guard? He is not from America. Yes, Wayne Eazy is a young Latvian boy, who has a lot of skill and dominates everybody in the paint. He has power, skill and a silky-smooth jumper. As he really impressed me and the crew, we had to make an interview with the kid.

How did you get into basketball ? Did you play other sports ?

My mother and father wanted me to stay away of the streets and crime and all that stuff, so they wanted me to play. I played football in high school, but basketball is my life.

Who motivates you the most ? Friends, family, an NBA player or a coach ?

Family and words of Tupac Shakur and Eazy-E songs. Why family? Because they helped me in tough times, father worked hard to get a money for a high school in USA, and I played ball in Oak Hill Academy from 10th to 12th grade. Then I received a offer from Kentucky, UCLA and USC. I chose UCLA, because I always liked UCLA and city of Angels. Pets? You want to know why pets?

Who are your 3 most favorite players in NBA ?

Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce.

What team is your favorite ?

Celtics.

What player do you want to play with sometime in NBA ?

With Adam Morrison *laughs*. Sure with Big four in Boston, five Hall of Fame caliber players. Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett and Shaq

What kind of draft pick are you hoping for ?

All players wants to be drafted with first pick, but I hope I will be drafted in 1st round by a good team where I will opportunity to win and play my whole career.

You played in UCLA. Why did you play there?

When I was 8, I saw first NBA game between Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Lakers, and I saw Baron Davis, and then I heard ''former UCLA superstar'' and John Wooden times, one of the greatest teams. Los Angeles - sunny city with a lot of celebrities and sport superstars. Bloods and Crips...

How are your teammates ?

Humans...

What is your biggest strength ?

Ehm, I don't know, you can check my player profile on nbadraft.net *laughs*

Cavs @ Sacramento

Postby Cruzerr on Sun May 22, 2011 6:36 pm

Sacramento loses another one at home

Image

First Quarter

As Cleveland was coming off a loss against Portland, the Kings got their last win at home. That being said, the game still started off great for the Cavaliers. Their main man, Blake Griffin, went on dominating, and with Jason Thompson injured, no body could stop him. From Kings point of view, Tyreke Evans had some huge game as well. Three minutes left, Cleveland got the game to ten, but not higher. As Tyreke did dominate Parker, it was DeMar DeRozans buzzer-beater from downtown, that finished the game 29-20

Clevelands top scorer : B.Griffin 10 PTS 1 REB
Kings top scorer : T.Evans 10 PTS

Second Quarter

It started off dull, as no points were scored until eight minutes of play. After that, some huge game from Beno Udrih and Eugene Jeter got the game to five and the fans went wild. All hell broke loose on Cavaliers side after that, getting the game back to ten. While there was three minutes left to play, Parker and Griffin started to dominate even more and got the game to 18 some point, but with Tyreke and Thompson stepping up, the game finished 58-46

Clevelands top scorer : B.Griffin 14 PTS 3 REB 1 AST
Kings top scorer : T.Evans 12 PTS 1 REB

Third Quarter

Unlike the second, it started off really interesting. Tyreke Evans posterised Blake Griffin and Beno threw a amazing alley-oop pass to Cousins, getting the game back to eight. At the other end, point guard Baron Davis posterised Evans and a sweet alley-oop thrown over the Kings players to Terrence Williams. Both Blake and Evans had a huge liftoff in that quarter, but Cleveland dominated even more. Their whole team got in the scoring action and raised the game up to 20.Sadly, Francisco Garcia got injuried after getting blocked by Varejao, as he broked his wrist. Kings did get it back to 14 at some point, but another huge run from the Cavs and a buzzer-beater from Sessions finished the game with a 21 point deficit, 94-73.

Clevelands top scorer : B.Griffin 25 PTS 7 REB 2 AST
Kings top scorer : T.Evans 26 PTS 1 REB 1 AST 1 STL

Forth Quarter

Beno Udrih wanted to get his team back, and the best he could do, was to get the game to 12. After that, the newly acquired Ivan Johnson put up 10 points, finishing with 12. As Gee got his minutes to play, they were not long, as his old teammate DeMar DeRozan posterised him and he got subbed out. As both teams traded points, it was no way possible to come back to win it for Sacramento, as they loss 121-104.

Press Conference :

"Ivan, in your debut you were cold. Today, you showed a lot of skill. What motivated you?"
"My team did. They were on a huge roll, so I thought that I need to help them. So I did."

"Tyreke, this year, it seems like the last year. You have a lot of talent but you cant get the playoff spot. What seems to be the problem?"
"Our age. We are a very young team and it is hard to get wins with so less experience."

Conclusion:

As Kings have the second-to-last spot in the West, they have no chance for the playoffs. But Cleveland now has the second spot in the East, which makes them a little closer to Heat.
