started a new association for more challenges, as i am now stable in winning on my Celtics association :) Now i used the New jersey nets. :)

i won the first two games, with d will scoring 26pts and 13 assists on the opener, and then 43pts 10 asst on 2nd. :) then i made some trades to free up the space = traded gadzuric and picks for deandre jordan and brian cook, traded mario west and picks for twolves first pick. And then accepted the offer of granger, hibbert for brooke lopez, outlaw and damion jones :D it made me get interested more

I am now on 6-1 despite of injury of d will, and kris humpries and brandan wright playing hurt :)

As my Raptors association freezed in the 2nd yr (really gutted), decided to go for a fantasy draft for the first time. Took Nets and 10th pick in the first round.
Roster:

PG J.Holiday
SG N.Young
SF L.Deng
PF B.Griffin
C G.Oden (initialy was M.Speights, but traded him+1st round pick for Oden).
6th M.Miller
7th B.Bass
8th C.Brewer
9th D.Gibson
10th D,Milicic
11th. T.Allen
12th N.Mohamed
IR J.Pargo

Really love this team as it has some good offence and defence players. And a really young promising squad.

10min quarters all-star level, tweaked sliders.

28-19 in the season. Blake Griffin(19.7ppg.,11rbs.,2.3ast.,1.1blk. in 30.1min.) is 4th in MVP Race and 1st in ROY Race, 3rd in EFF all NBA,3rd in rebounds. Nick Young is 1st for the MIP. Greg Oden 4th for DPOY.
Wanted M.Miller to go for the 6th Man Award, but he has really dissapointing season so far.(40%fgs, 28% 3pts, 5pts a game per 14min).

That's a really good team. Young, Deng, and Griffin will get a TON of points together. (Y) or they'll all try to outdo each other and end up with 10ppg a piece.

Well, so far just Griffin is consistent in scoring. Just had 2 games with him in single digits, both when he got in foul trouble. And around 40 games double-double. Deng and Young takes leadership in different games.Deng saved my ass with couple of buzzer beaters.Young is 5th in the league by 3pts made, shoots 39.8% Oden is a beast in defence. Only trouble of a team is FT shooting as I use Real Player %, Griffin makes 59%, Oden 60%. I am last in the league with 70%.

PPG. Griffin 19.7 Deng 16.1 Young 14.4
REB Griffin 11, Oden 8.1, Deng 4.9
AST Holiday 5.3 Griffin 2.3 Deng 2.2
STL Griffin 1.3 Deng/Holiday 1.1
BLK Oden 2.9 Milicic 1.5 Griffin 1.1

Conference finals, game 3, tied at 86. 27 seconds on the clock, full shot clock, isolating blake griffin on the perimeter left wing. Size up dribbles to waste clock, cross right, then left, signature goto move gather which is a cross then spin. The defender is lost standing still at the left elbow, while blake is now 15 feet from the basket on the baseline. High arc jumper hits the rim, bounces high of the backboard, his the rim twice and bounces out. Time expires.

In overtime I am ran out of the gym by corey maggette who scores on two fast breaks plus a three point play to put the jazz up 7. I never caught up. Down 2-1 in the series Chris Kaman is out for the rest of the playoffs. Eric Gordon is shooting badly, Kyle Korver can't hit a shot for me. Blake Griffin is missing a lot of freethrows. Things are not going in my momentum.

played against the hawks. I was down 5 in the last 45 secs, Hibbert made a dunk to cut down to 3, then granger made two key steals to give us the lead with 11 sec remaining. Then d will got another steal 4 secs but lost the ball again to joe jo with 2 sec, Joe jo for the desperation heave, it missed! unfortunately, he got fouled by morrow with 0.3sec left, then made three fts. we lost by two haha!

next game is against the knicks. I got back from a 16 pt deficit as melo was unstoppable. And then suddenly anthony morrow made 8 triples in the 2nd half (5 straight in the 3rd!), then we pulled away with a win!

haha! im loving my version of big three in NJ. Granger, D WIll and Hibbert! :D

Mavs association, Conf. Finals Vs. San Antonio. 16 seconds left up by 1. Manu misses a three, Terry grabs the rebound, I press the pass button... & Hill steals, gives it to Duncan who dunks & gets fouled, & gives the Spurs the lead! I make a three w/ Roddy (who scored 32 points, most in that 4th),which cuts to lead to 1, but with 0.5 on the clock, I can't foul Duncan on the inbound. Come on 2K... :( (N)

The game after Kaman got injured, DeAndre Jordan gets injured in the same way, against the same player, with the same exact injury. So, don't try to take a charge against Corey Maggette. On the bright side, I won the last three games against the Jazz, as Deron Williams decided not to show up, and Stephen Jackson tossed up bricks. My prospects Drew Cook, and Aldrich played great, and Mo Williams started to hit shots. I even blew them out in game six.

First game of the finals against the Heat and Blake Griffin was getting D'd up hard by Chris Bosh, who finished with 5 blocks. They couldn't stop Eric Gordon, though, as he put up 26 with a couple of threes and somw nice alleyoops.
I missed a shot to put us up 4, but Dwyane Wade missed a3 at the buzzer that I think was tipped because it was way off. Won game 1 88-87.

I didn't like how Dwyane Wade only had 5 points, so I edited his touches to be the same as Lebrons, at 98. It was at 90 before.

Continued from above.

Fuck it. My 30 seasons in my 2K10 association, lost. Sigh.

Tried making a new one with Chris Paul and Dwight together in NO, but it was so unfair. I probably had 10 alley-oops per game and I easily made the Celtics and Spurs my bitches.

Absolutely.
Was even planning to make a story with my very last season to share what it's like to finish Association mode. I have an outline in my mind of what I was going to do, like a scouting report/player focus on the superstars of each team (it is after all 40 years into the future), which is probably the hardest part in implementing it. I already even had a thread title for it! "NBA 2K10: The Final Season - An OKC Association". A damn title!

Though according to some who did finish Association mode, the game will not let you go to the next season once you reached the maximum number of seasons. It will just stay there on the screen of the Playoffs bracket.

Wow. I decided to just finish out the finals and I swept them again. Also, once a again, Kyle Korver hit the game winning 3 on a broken play, which is the same thing he did the season before. I wonder why the Heat kept breaking down late in the games. With Lebron, Wade, and Bosh, I expected them to be a lot tougher than they were.

Anyways, going into the draft, I noticed several legends in the pool, so I made a few trades for some picks and drafted Michael Jordan, Shawn Kemp, and Sam Perkins. It's going to be a fun season.

Well I'm the Mavs, and started a sim association.

We won the championship the first year, and now, our young talent is ready. The old guys are retiring. Everyone but Butler, Chandler, and Nowitzki that are old have retired. Now it's time for Rodrique Beaubois and Dominque Jones to shine.

New York Knicks Opening Day Roster, Year 2(2011-12);

starters:
(PG)Toney Douglas, (SG)Landry Fields, (SF)Carmelo Anthony, (PF)Amar'e Stoudemire, (C)Joel Przybilla

bench:
(PG)Ricky Rubio(rookie), (SF/SG)Derrick Brown, (SF/PF)Shawne Williams, (PF/C/SF)Jared Jeffries, (C)Nenad Krstic, (SF/SG)Bill Walker, (C/PF)Ronny Turiaf

reserves:
(SG/SF)Roger Mason, (SF/PF)Renaldo Balkman, (PG)Anthony Carter, (SG)Andy Rautins(sent to D-League)

I used Chauncey's money to sign the big men I needed, and to bring back Williams, Turiaf and defensive specialist Jeffries. With so much scoring from Carmelo, Amar'e & Fields, all my center has to do is rebound and defend. Przybilla fits that role. Nenad gives me some scoring off the bench to go with Brown & Williams

So I started an association about 4 months ago with Phoenix, playing every game (29 games or whatever it is). This will be a long ass post but I've got 5 seasons worth of stuff to get updated. Subsequent updates will be much shorter.
I'm year 4 or 5, my team currently looks like this...

C: Donald Gibb
(76 ... 3rd overall pick in last draft)
PF: Serge Ibaka
(81 ... traded the 5th pick for him three seasons ago)
SF: Rasheed Jordan
(86 ... 1st overall pick in last draft)
SG: Theo Johnson
(92 ... 2rd overall pick three seasons ago)
PG: Avery Bradley
(83 ... traded Nash to Boston when Rondo went down for the season, got Bradley + Garnett for Nash and a mid lotto pick, Boston turned the pick into a guy who's averaging 26ppg this season)

Bench:

 Kobe Bryant
88 ... signed as a free agent, he's like 38 years old now
 Dirk Nowitzki
78 ... traded Garnett for him some time ago, getting old and fairly useless outside of his shooting
 Rod Schayes
74 ... a late first round draft pick in my first draft, modelled him after Pat Mills
 Trey Jordan
72 ... some 7'4 C I picked up as a free agent
 Richie Hardaway
67 ... the 13th pick of the last draft, looks fairly promising
 Austin Vaughn
60 ... 19 year old 6'11 project I'm working on. Trying to turn him from a C/PF into a SF
 Elton Brand
69 ... will probably retire at the end of the season, just there for depth
 JJ Redick
68 ... depth again

Basically Theo Johnson is the star of the team. He was rated 83 when I picked him and jumped to 92 by the middle of his second season, he was averaging 34/5/8 then with 8 games left in the regular season he went down with a torn patella, out for 8 months which meant not only were our play-off hopes fucked, but he missed out on winning MVP/All-NBA honors and he didn't improve any more over the off season. He only just made his comeback game like 8-9 games into the new season (which will probably rule him out of MVP running again) and had 34/5/13.

Since he was still going to be missing for a while, I signed Kobe for 20 million over two seasons to try and cover the loss. He did alright, averaging around 20/5/5 but he's nowhere near as good as Theo. I've got him coming off the bench because the bench unit tends to blow every lead I develop. I really tried to make Rod Schayes a lot like Pat Mills, because I had Mills on the team before and he was awesome (scored 44 points in 16 minutes once, 12/15 from three) but he's kinda like a homeless mans version. Still a decent back-up though.

Rasheed Jordan scares the hell out of me, Theo was rated 83 in his rookie season, Rasheed is already upto 86. God knows how good he'll be. I think his potential rating might be lower though. He's REALLY accurate in his shooting, I have fairly harsh slider settings and he's still shooting 60% from the field and nearly 50% from three.

I've spent three seasons trying to turn Serge Ibaka into Shawn Kemp, doing so much development work with him. Even the dribbling drills. I played him at C for the first two seasons and shifted him to PF this year, it's starting to pay off, he's putting up 18/9 and nearly 2 blocks. He's athletic enough to blow past most defenders and his dunks are awesome, just got to work on his ball handling.

Avery Bradley has developed nicely, I went after him because his potential was rated A+ and he went from being like a 68 to 84 in just over two seasons. His shot and everything is kinda inconsistent but Theo controls the ball mostly so he just has to hit set shots basically. I was going to go after Daniel Orton because his potential was A+ and he was rated similar to Avery, wish I would have but Orlando wanted too much. They kept him buried on the bench for so long that he never developed as well as he should.

For those wondering (that actually read all of this) the way I got so many high draft picks is basically just by guessing which teams are gonna suck 2 years in advance. Like I knew San Antonio were fucked after Duncan/Ginobili retires, so I traded for their pick in 2 seasons which turned out to be the #2 pick that I used on Theo Johnson. When KG retired Dallas had Luol Deng as their first option so I got their pick etc. It meant sacrificng some picks early but I had #2 and #5 in 2012 and #1, #3 in 2015, I traded the #3 for #5 and #13 though.

Also traded #5 in 2012 for Ibaka which I kinda regret. The Knicks used that pick to get this guy Ian Long, who is a 6'9 SF that put up 18 in his first season. San Antonio picked a 76 rated C like two picks later who is rated in the 80's now and one of the best rebounders in the game and Houston picked a SG who is putting up 20 per now.

Kinda like Peja irl and in 2K.

I had Mills on the team before and he was awesome
Mills has always been awesome in 2K. He was my primary backup for Chris Paul in 10 seasons and was alwaystop 3 of my team in PER. He can shoot and he's pretty athletic.

Rasheed Jordan scares the hell out of me, Theo was rated 83 in his rookie season, Rasheed is already upto 86. God knows how good he'll be. I think his potential rating might be lower though.
Seen some rookies like that, low potential rating but they develop really fast, which of course makes them reach their plateau early and be stuck in that rating and never improve even if they're still below 28-30 years old, with the exception of offseason workout or development drills.

I got so many high draft picks is basically just by guessing which teams are gonna suck 2 years in advance. Like I knew San Antonio were fucked after Duncan/Ginobili retires
lol, ditto. I even check the other teams' players salary when trading for picks. If I'm going to trade with a losing team and see that they'll be stuck being over the cap for a few years making them unable to improve and guaranteeing a lottery pick in the future, I pull the trigger.

Reading about Jae's association made me miss mine. :(

Jae, if you started your Association before patch then you need to create random draft classes outside the Association then import them, otherwise overly powerful rooks coming through due to very high potentials.

Anyways, you had to post a long arse post that these sort of threads are designed for didn't you? Problem is I wanted to unlock & delete since can't be bothered merging the two threads.

I haven't noticed the overpowered rookies issue just yet, usually the top 2 or 3 guys are rated in the high 70's or low 80's but there's been quite a few who started off rated 83 or 84 and are still stuck at that point, like Ian Long the dude I mentioned missing out on when I traded for Ibaka.

One thing I like is that I've noticed more late lotto-mid round guys are turning out to be decent, like after a few seasons they're rated in the mid-high 70's

I had a 2K10 association with the Bulls and with the 19th pick I got a guy called Patzatzaglou or something like that. Became my starting SF, started out as 71, but developed into 85 quite quickly. Reached the finals with a line-up of Rose, Rip Hamilton, Patzatzaglou, Garnett and Noah, swept the Lakers in the Finals, after that mostly simmed as my crap PC couldn't handle 2K without crashing. His numbers weren't out-landish, something like 17 and 8, but a very good defender with good size and quickness.
