Really hurts the Cats' hopes of getting swept in the first round. Will have to settle for a mid-lottery pick instead! Egads!
Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:25 am
Not really, seeing as we've played well recently without him anyway. I'm more upset about the last bit of the article. Stephen Jackson, Shaun Livingston, and Tyrus Thomas are ALL likely to miss the game against Orlando. I'm worried about Jack's hamstring more than anything, although Livingston and Thomas are definitely crucial parts of the team.

It's a thriller between C's-Spurs. Dice injured again...

Great finish by the Celtics. On the bright side for the Spurs, at least Duncan, Parker and Ginobili are all in the lineup again.
Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:39 pm
Yep... those KG daggers in the 4th were too much. Even Duncan shot a 3 in the dying minutes! And Rondo, well...

Was it like the 3 that he shot against the Suns 3 years ago?

Lol no, the commentator said, "Spurs fans hoping it was like that 3 against Phoenix..." Commentators from Argentina, not like ESPN were they are Mexican.

That was epic.

looking for videos of the whole retirement ceremony for rodman
and what number is monroe changing to?
Sat Apr 02, 2011 5:26 pm
Perhaps he'll be allowed to keep wearing it, as the Bulls did with B.J. Armstrong when they retired #10 for Bob Love in 1994.
Sat Apr 02, 2011 7:39 pm
yeah they might just have him change it for next year. i think thats what eddie jones did when goodrich's #25 was retired. they gotta sell the rest of their monroe jerseys.
Sun Apr 03, 2011 1:44 am
That too, I doubt they'd try to get it changed at this point in the season.
Some highlights from the ceremony:

Full video of the ceremony in nba.com (22 mins. long)
Love the exchange between Sally and Rodman.
So Detroit's the only place that cheers for Isiah Thomas.
Sun Apr 03, 2011 6:00 am
thakns for the full video shadow.
on nba tv they mentioned rodman gave his blessing to monroe to keep wearing #10 but didn't say for how long, but i doubt rodman really cares if monroe kept wearing past this season.

I'd like to see the Bulls retire his #91. I know he was only there three years but he was a major player in the second threepeat, it was probably the height of his fame and it's not like many people are ever going to wear that number.

And even then, perhaps a little grudgingly.

In that case, they should retire Horace Grant's also
Sun Apr 03, 2011 1:01 pm
Absolutely, I think that would be appropriate. While it's entirely possible for teams to get carried away retiring jersey numbers, I feel both players have earned it (especially Grant who had a longer stint with the Bulls). #91 and #54 aren't commonly used jersey numbers either, so they wouldn't really be shooting themselves in the foot by making them unavailable.

For the first time in my life I am rooting for the Spurs in a Suns-Spurs matchup, so far so good.
Mon Apr 04, 2011 10:25 am
Nuggets ended the Lakers' winning streak!!!
On a sadder note, the Bobcats played without Stephen Jackson, Tyrus Thomas, Shaun Livingston, Joel Przybilla, Eddy Najera, AND Desagana Diop. We got beat by fucking Washington, who now has 3 road wins.

What's more is that Matt Carroll was the leading scorer in the game. Dear. God.

Brook Lopez is aware that he is seven foot tall right?
Mon Apr 04, 2011 12:21 pm
Great game by the Raptors.
If Derozan develops 3 point range, he'd be unstoppable.
Mon Apr 04, 2011 12:54 pm
It's entirely possible that Brook Lopez may have FEWER TOTAL REBOUNDS this season than Andrea Bargnani had last season.
In honor of tonight's simply amazing performance by Lopez I looked up the worst rebounding effort by a seven footer who played at least 41 minutes.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Mr. Big Country.

DeRozan destroyed the Magic!

Not that his rebounding numbers were fantastic last year, but 8.6 rpg for a seven foot centre playing a shade under 37 minutes isn't
too bad; at least, it could be worse. Seems he's determined to prove that this year though, per 36 he's grabbing a little over two fewer boards per game. You'd think he'd at least get around eight or so by accident when he plays 40 minutes.
