Certainly a different tune than when they were on the wrong end of a 30 point blowout involving the Spurs. ;)

LeBron James setting picks for Wade. Finally!
You have a player who can go to the basket with ease and also has decent range and a 6'8 250 lb. player setting the pick who can also go to the basket with ease and shoot from deep. Both are also good passers.
What's next, LeBron posting up?

I really want to see now how they go up against Thibodeau defenses (Bulls, Celtics) or if other teams will adjust accordingly with what the Heat are doing right now.

They still should cut out on the drama.

Like the Heat winning more games? Or the Heat winning more games to at least end up being the 2nd seed in the East?

What's so puzzling. Just having bit of fun here in Miami thread as a fan. Just because your Lakers will suck shit this year in the playoffs, it don't mean u can take out ur frustration on which seems to be the real champ, the Heat. :scold:

After watching the Spurs-Heat game, I actually prefer Magloire to Dampier. They're both big, slow, awfully dirty players though, so I like that Joel has been getting more minutes now as Ilgauskas is out.

Not a bad game for the HEAT. Sure they shot poorly, but they kept a very good OKC team to 40% shooting. Deep down I hope it was the Finals preview, but I know that's a long shot for both teams.

Well there you have it, MIA lost so OBVIOUSLY they are not ready for the playoffs and most likely will not get out of the first round.
I'm willing to bet there is an article on NBA.com that pretty much says this.

So much faith you are showing in your boy Lebron.

First round should be a piece of cake. We just inconsistent at the moment because of new looks in our team. Bibby still trying to fit in, Bosh trying to adjust, Dempier trying to adjust as a starter and so on. Being inconsistent right now will prepare us better for the playoffs. Mark my word. When it's time, we have 5 guys that can step up and make a difference. We've shown that in recent games VS SAS and LAL. It's just that the Heat are bored at the moment.

Maybe they were tears of boredom? No?

The Heat play Denver, Atlanta, Detroit, Philly, Houston, Cleveland, Washington, NJ, Minnesota, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Boston, Atlanta, and Toronto, and then the season's over. The only real challenges here are Boston and possibly Denver. Atlanta could cause some problems (twice), but otherwise, their schedules pretty easy.they could get bored...

...and another win against a so called '.50 plus team'. This time it was the team from Denver. The row of games against good teams has been done. Heat were 5-6:

http://espn.go.com/nba/team/schedule/_/ ... miami-heat

Since February 27th they've defeated the Lakers, Grizzlies, Spurs, @Hawks and today Nuggets. The losts were against the Knicks, Magic, @Spurs, Chicago, Blazers and Thunder. I would say a little disappointment, but not a tragedy. Except Boston and Dallas the've played the NBA's elite teams and 5-6 is not that bad. On the other side just 2 of those 11 games were outside Miami. So 4-5 at home is not a big outcome, even against the best teams. What does it mean for an NBA ranking? Are the Heat an elite team or not? By now, they're are not. To be on the top they needed to be dominant at home against every team in the league. Otherwise they can bury their dream of becoming World Champion...

On a season basis they’re 20-20 now (against .50 plus teams). I see two big barriers of being an elite team. One is consistency. The surprising wins against Lakers, Spurs and @Altanta are indicating they're able play NBA's best ball, but especially the losts against Orlando, Chicago and @Spurs showed they're not ready on a daily basis. As somebody who likes stats, I'd advise everybody to take a look at this:

http://espn.go.com/nba/standings/_/type/expanded

These expanded team stats clarify the problem many of you guys are seeing. Their problem is being successful in clutch time. When games are getting close (here: less than 3 pts difference in final points) the Heat are the second worst (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) team (2-8) in the whole league behind Toronto (1-7). Best teams in this perspective are the Spurs (8-1) and big surprise the Hawks (6-1) whom they’ve just easily defeated. So the bad performances in clutch time should immediately be improved by one decision: Who will get the ball? As sad as it is for him, LBJ shouldn’t be the chosen one in this sense. It’s D-Wade’s turn. In the final games they should really try to go with D-Wade into these situations. If nothing changes, being successful in the playoffs will remain a dream….

Wins by 3 points or less are not really that relevant in the overall scheme of things. Patterns don't hold up over repeated trials enough because it's a sample size of about 1.3 shots. Five or less is more informative but it's still two possessions.

You'd want to look at something like 82games' clutch time but for the team. Something they don't provide oddly.

The Heat's real problem is only one thing, they can't reliably score on defenses controlled by big men that can shift and react. It's a serious problem for them because they will have to go through at least two of them just to reach the Finals.

It's too late in the season for them to install a Kings-style high post motion offense as a backup plan. They also need a good passing big (lol Bosh) to really pull it off well but they could fake it a bit with LeBron. They should have got Brad Miller.

Maybe they can swing a trade for Duncan, Pau Gasol or Blake Griffin after the season.

There we go, problem solved.
