Hmm... have just installed v6, and it actually treats heights the same way (decreasing by 1 cm in some cases), as v7 (at least, in cms).
As i've said, in the latest v8 1-inch-decreasing is some game behaviour, as the value is stored in cms inside the file, and switching to cms will give you the same value in-game before and after using REDitor. I mean, if you see some player's height decreased by 1 inch, it's only a presentation, he's of the same "physical" height during matches.
The problem of "1-cm-decreasing in rare cases" is actually caused by Banker's Rounding, which is default in the compiler (i haven't noticed that earlier), so i've switched it to Arifmetical Rounding, and now (in v9) everything works correctly.
The next version will be probably released within a week.
Anyway, thx for reporting about D. Rose.

Now you're thinking. I started manually fixing heights, until I realized I can't possibly sit there and add an inch to every player in the NBA. And simultaneously maintain any resemblance to a normal life.
As evident from the posts above, something in the script seems to remove an inch from players' height field. The strange thing is, doesn't seem to happen across the board. For instance the Grizzlies had all heights reduced by 1 inch - i-e Rudy Gay at 6-7 & so forth. Scrolling through other teams, some heights seem accurate - ie Carmelo Anthony @ 6-8.
From my personal empirical experience, it seems to affect most - if not all - players in the database, such as Andrew Bynum at 6-11.
I think it's clear aliens have landed and taken over most - if not all - fan-based editing software having to do with pc basketball games.
I was thinking it may have to do with Turk script, that the columns got rearranged or something. Maybe it's something else.
Perhaps, the entire NBA is suffering from spontaneous mass-shrinking.
Guys in their twenties shouldn't neccessarily be losing inches like that, unless they spent hours soaking in cold water, or forcably truncating themselves, chopping off an inch or two from scalp or toes, for some unknown reason.

The problem is coming from your computer, not the software. Do you have the same problem with others softwares ? Did you try to run Reditor as an Administrator ?
Sat Mar 05, 2011 3:07 am

Sat Mar 05, 2011 3:24 am
Well, try to install it into the folder

Sat Mar 05, 2011 10:17 am
finally starting to use the editor, and looked threw the tut, but have two ?
one how you change Coaches. I'd like to fire O'Brian and replace with Sloan or Collins anyone else.
second and how would change the thunder back to be Seattle.
Sat Mar 05, 2011 10:43 am
under the teams tab, change the coach ID
find anything having to do with OKC or Thunder and change it to Seattle and Sonics.
Sat Mar 05, 2011 11:43 am

I've found a new glitch. Everytime I try and change a jersey to an alternate(change the GID) the alternate becomes the primary jersey. Not in name or code, but if I was to just go to the team and press start while away, the game would start with them wearing the alternate not primary away
Hope you can help!

which version of the editor would allow me to transfer or copy create a player files between saves. I've downloaded a few roster updates recently and I don't want to create my character over again. It's stupid I know.

Tue Mar 08, 2011 11:19 am
Which columns besides IsFA and TeamID1 do I have to change to put someone on an NBA-DL team? I've changed just those columns and the players I edited are no longer in the free agent pool but they're not on the DL teams either.
Thanks in advance.
