Re: OKC - 2011 [17-4] Trade week?

Sat Feb 26, 2011 7:23 pm

I tried to copy the real life deals as best I could. It was hard because of players not being on their real teams and injuries etc.

I had nothing to do with the Rou/Bosh deal. They pulled that one off after I'd done the others.

Bosh for Roy is ridiculous. Can't you override it?

Lolz. Roy for Bosh? :o Now Miami have 2 superstars if we count injuries of Roy. BTW nice team that you made.

Edit: Why do Charlotte is colored in teal? Charlotte Hornets?

I guess it is pretty ridiculous. They have Travis Outlaw starting at center now.

I guess it is a huge gamble for Miami. They only really have Ilgauskas as an option at center.

I'm really happy with this team. I hope that Lopez and Horford can emulate what Oden and Aldridge did on my last Dynasty. (Y)

Badger wrote:Edit: Why do Charlotte is colored in teal? Charlotte Hornets?

I thought their jerseys were a greeny blue colour I guess.

Would this be better?

Breaking news from Miami

Image

The Miami Heat have rescinded their trade offer to Portland for Brandon Roy after he failed a medical examination by Heat doctors.
According to a source within the Heat, there was minor damage discovered in Roy's knees that made the Heat pull the plug on the deal.
Given Roy's history of problems with his knees and hamstrings throughout his career, the Heat decided the risk was too high.
This means that Miami's 'big 3' will remain intact. They currently sit atop the eastern conference with a 21-4 record.

Nice idea to make all the deadline deals; good call on reversing the puzzling Bosh/Roy swap, too. Doesn't look like the trade did much for the Rockets though, that one certainly wasn't close.

Re: OKC - 2011 [18-4] Trades galore + Rockets

Sun Feb 27, 2011 1:46 pm

I don't think Dragic even played in that game. :?

I'm not really used to having 2 slow-moving big men on the court at the same time. I'm having to adjust from from perimeter game.
I've lost 2 of my best three point shooters in Green and Mayo, so I'll probably be looking inside to Lopez and Horford for points.

In the 2 games since the Lopez trade I've scored 113 and 112. Not far off the 116 per game I've been averaging this season. (Y)

House and Thunder agree buyout

Image

Oklahoma City have today released a statement announcing that Eddie House has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.
The 32 year old point guard was acquired by the Thunder in a three-team trade that saw them land Brook Lopez.
General Manager Sam Presti said "We feel this is the best outcome for both parties. Eddie can now look for a new team."
"I had a long chat with him yesterday and we both agreed that this was a good move because he wasn't going to get much playing time here."
House was in the last year of his contract that was worth $1.40m per season.

Re: OKC - 2011 [20-4] Hawks put up good fight

Tue Mar 01, 2011 7:40 pm

Looks like quite a shootout in the fourth, nice win to keep the streak going. I'm guessing you've got something brewing with the release of House?

Re: OKC - 2011 [20-4] Hawks put up good fight

Tue Mar 01, 2011 8:54 pm

No, not really. I just didn't need him. It's hard enough finding time for Westbrook, Harden, Brown, Matthews and Murray in the 2 guard positions.
Even with House gone, Murray will probably only get used if Westbrook and Matthews both get in foul trouble.

I was thinking of signing a further backup power forward, but then I figured I could just use Rocco Roe there. He's 213cm and 108kg. :)

Thunder sign free agent Weems

Image

Oklahoma City have today announced the signing of free agent shooting guard Sonny Weems.
Weems, who can play as a guard or a forward, was released by Toronto at the end of last season.
He has signed a 2 year contract worth $1.65m and will likely be backup behind James Harden and Shannon Brown.
Weems said "I'm really glad to have another opportunity to play in the NBA. Especially with this great team."

Apart from that blowout loss, seems the Cavs aren't doing too badly without LeBron. Solid pickup in Weems.

Yeah, their record surprised me. Apart from Jamison and Davis, they don't really have any star players. Or players rated over 80 anyway.

Shame the streak came to an end but at least it sounds like an exciting game. Mind you, it also sounds like the AI was pretty brutal in OT with those shooting percentages.

Re: OKC - 2011 [21-5] Bucks grab overtime win

Fri Mar 04, 2011 7:15 pm

Overtime games are always exciting. I always feel I can win them, but when they get a couple of stops in a row it's really hard.

Westbrook is averaging 14.4 assists per game in the last 10 games. About 19 per game in the last 3. :o
I still can't seem to get Durant to score as much as I'd like though.
