I would have thought Orlando with the number of turnovers. I hope that you let us know how all the reborn players are doing at the end of the month or smtg. (Y)

Carmelo Anthony - Ben Gordon

Postby Pistol on Sun Jan 16, 2011 4:38 pm

Behind the Scenes

Carmelo Anthony - Denver Nuggets
Image

Carmelo Anthony was sitting in his car talking on the phone with his agent. Anthony's agent had been busy talking to Denver's front office and also contacting New York and New Jersey under the table. Anthony has always wanted to make it back to his home area and play basketball there. It's always been his dreams to play for the Knicks in front of family and friends, but the idea of being with the Nets when they move to his hometown of Brooklyn sounded just as enticing. Anthony's agent was giving him the low down, "Alright Melo, I told the Nuggets you were going to decline your option and test the free agent market. I told them that as a for sure thing, but we wouldn't mind helping them out by letting them trade you away so they don't lose you for nothing. I told them you want to go to New York or New Jersey. Here is the issue with New Jersey, it doesn't sound like they are willing to give up as much as the Nuggets want. Not to mention they want you to sign a contract extension if they are going to make the deal."

Anthony answered back, "I'm not signing an extension with anyone right now, no promises."

"I know, I know. Then there's New York, they want you bad and it sounds like they are willing to give up some pieces. The Nuggets are asking for a little much right now, but I think New York will be our best bet."

"Alright man, I have to head to practice. Keep me updated and good work." Anthony hung up the phone and started heading into the locker room. When he got into the Nuggets locker room everyone was shooting around on the court besides Kenyon Martin who was still lacing up his sneakers. He looked up and saw Anthony heading in and he greeted him, "What up Melo, how you been?"

"I'm alright, just a little stressed ya know."

"All the trade talks? I hear ya man, it always becomes a distraction when the talks are up in the air. I'm going to tell you one thing man, if you leave, I'm getting the fuck out. I'm getting to old to be struggling to get into the playoffs, I'm ready to get my shot at a championship." Martin stood up and patted Anthony on the back as he was lacing up his sneakers, "Maybe my agent and your agent can get us out of here together." Martin smiled as he exited the locker room. Anthony stood up and started heading out onto the court. He didn't like putting the Nuggets in this position, but he wanted to play back home so bad. Now Anthony is also starting to realize the impact it will have on the other players when he leaves. The older guys are all going to want out, kind of feels like he was pulling a 'LeBron'.

Ben Gordon - Detroit Pistons
Image

Sure it's a great thing having the old Tracy McGrady back. It's understandable that Richard Hamilton is the main guy coming off the bench too, he has been here his entire career. Ben Gordon had all these thoughts running through his head as he walked up to the Joe Dumars' office. Dumars is the general manager for the Detroit Pistons and Gordon had requested he sit down and talk to him. Dumars' secretary greeted Gordon and led him into the office. Dumars stood up from behind his desk and shook Gordon's hand, "Welcome Ben, sit please I insist. I think we have a lot of talking to do, especially with that statement you made to the press." Dumars was of course talking about the media interview Gordon had when he stated that he was sick of where he was because he wasn't starting. He also went as far to say that the situation was bullshit. "Sounds like you want out of here Ben, I mean you have made it very apparent. If those are your wishes than I suppose I can see what I can do."

"It is Mr. Dumars, I mean you guys brought me in here to help put you guys back on your feet. I was supposed to come in and start or if I had to, be the sixth man. Now you guys want me to be a role player? Does no one remember how I played against the Celtics in the playoffs?"

"Oh we do and that's exactly why we brought you here. With all due respect though Ben, you haven't really lived up to your contract. You haven't been on that same playing level as before we brought you here. Maybe you just aren't made for the pressure of being a starter."

Gordon stood up and threw his chair back. He pointed his finger at Dumars, "You shut the fuck up Joe! Don't even question my ability as a player, this is my fucking job. I want out of this piss poor place you call an organization. This team couldn't even beat the Nets the other night! If you had any clue what you were doing Billups would still be here and Rasheed would have retired here." With that Gordon turned around and stormed out of the office. Dumars remained seated the whole time and now he realized it was time to get busy on the phones.

Glad you got the pics situation sorted. It was probably 2k servers causing problems again.

So what's your plan? Have daily recaps or are you go to move quicker?

I'll do daily recaps probably, or even a couple days at a time. Right now it's daily. Then a weekly wrap up that looks around the league, power rankings, rumors, and I'll post on how our boosted players are doing. Monthly recaps will include a made up update in the NLCS players that are featured in the upcoming draft. I'm sure I'll get to the point to where I will speed it up a little bit, but who knows. Oh and these behind the scenes will be often, but sporadic.

What you are doing is very ambitious. Hopefully you learn to make the right adjustments if anything goes wrong.

I am enjoying this one so far!

Fucking Fuck... :cussing: I didn't save the game after the Wizards and Magic game. Seeing as how I don't want to replay that game I just simmed that game and re-simmed the Suns-Jazz game. Second time round Orlando beat Washington 121-105 :facepalm2: and the Jazz edged out the Suns 113-110. No injuries during either game. I also just spilled a full glass of cranberry juice all over the fucking place. My rug now needs to be thrown away. Who in the world did I fucking piss off?

I haven't been commenting on yours because I haven't had the opportunity to catch up. With the little free time I get, I have been playing my association. I should find time Monday to sit down and catch up, right after I get a new tattoo :headbang:

It is a shame, they were all pretty damn close votes. Especially the 'I was never destined to be a star' or whatever the fuck it's called. Anyways glad to see another follower and welcome back.

What did you guys think about the 'Behind the Scenes'? Should I keep that in this story? It would end up being basically an inside view of any deals that might happen. Basically explaining why it's happening and why the places chosen were chosen I guess. It also just makes it so that this story has a little bit of everything. Also if you have any ideas or you want something to happen in the league PM me and I can see what I can do.
