DOC RIVERS INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT
Australian to Take Over As Head Coach
October 24, 2010

Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers is in a serious but stable condition after slamming into a bus. Rivers was apperently 30 miles above the speed limit when the accident happened.

Chief of Police Andrew Walker is quoted saying, "People have to be very careful driving around our city espescially at nightime, and I hope this incident makes people even for careful."

Walker says that it was easily avoidable and Rivers is the only one at fault. The bus driver and his three passengers walked away unscathed.

DISAPOINTING START FOR NEW COACH

MIAMI HEAT (0-0) @ BOSTON CELTICS (0-0)

The battle of the Big Three's was supposed to be an epic encounter. Instead it was just a showcase of the Heat's new look team. The Celtics struggled from the word go, unable to convert the majority of their opportunities. Dwayne Wade (22 points, 4 rebounds, assists and steals) and LeBron James (26) combined on multiple occasions to give the Heat a 26-20 lead after the first. The next quarter belonged to the Miami boys, as they constantly intercepted poor passes from Boston. Kevin Garnett (20 points, 4 rebounds/assists) starting playing like he does, hitting 10 of the Celtics 11 points for the quarter. However, no Celt could find a stop, which let the Heat extend their lead to 23. The Celtics rallied in the second half, but Mike Miller (12) was unstoppable from outside the arc, shooting 4-4. Rajon Rondo (17points, 8 assists) and Kendrick Perkins (10 rebounds) led the way but couldn't go all the way, losing 94-73

Heat: 26 28 16 24 | 94
Celtics: 20 11 20 32 | 73

Injuries: Paul Pierce - Sparained Toe (4 days)

Player of the Game: Dwayne Wade

BOSTON CELTICS (0-1) @ CLEVELAND CAVALIERS (0-0)

The Celtics travelled to Cleveland for their first home game of the season, but a slow start cost them in the long run. Mo Williams 18 points, 7 assists) led the Cavs to a 15-4 run at the end of the first. For the second game running, alot of poor passes were gobbled up by the LeBron-less home team. Ray Allen hit a game-high 19 points, including an epic half-court shot and the end of the third, Rajon Rondo just missed out on a double-double, with 9 points and ten assists. The third quarter again belonged to the Cavs, as they extended their lead to 12 points. The Cleveland fans were loving it, but a strong last term by the Celts almost ,ade them shutup, as Garnett (16 points, 7 rebounds) and an injured Paul Pierce (15) carried the Celtics to trail by three with 3 seconds left. The Cavs inbounded from hal-court, but Pierce plucked the ball out of the air, ran down and pulled up, sinking the bucket. Unfortunately, his right foot was over the line, costing Boston the chance to go to overtime.

Player of the Game: Mo Williams

Re: Boston Celtics [0-2] Not Very Big Signing

BOSTON SIGN SMALL FORWARD DEVEAN GEORGE TO 1 YEAR DEAL

Image

The Celtics added some depth to their team, signing veteran Deavean George to a one year deal. George will recieve just $440k after being a free agent for less than a year. George won 3 championships the the LA Lakers, and was an important fixture off the bench, where he will also be at the Celtics.

His minutes are going to be restricted though, as Paul Pierce is in good form. The 31-year-old can also play shooting guard, but with the likes of Ray Allen and Von Wafer there he will play very few minutes there.

NEW YORK KNICKS (0-1) @ BOSTON CELTICS (0-3)

Amar'e Stoudemire and his Knicks travelled to Boston and played a fierce game. A team effort from the Knicks was enough to give them a 71-71 win over the struggling Celts. Both teams came out all guns blazing and Boston found themselves leading a high scoring first term 30-27. Player of the Game Rajon Rondo got 7 of his 11 assists in the first, and he didn't even play out the whole quarter. Thje defense picked up in the second, where an aggregate of 26 points was scored, 13-13. Stoudamire, Galinari and Robbie Felton all hit their straps in the third and they pushed past Boston and went into the last with a 7 point lead. The home side threw everything at the Knicks, but a Robbie Felton three point play stole the win with seven seconds left. Good defense didn't allow the Celtics to get a good shot, and Garnett threw up a random shot from the wing on the stroke of full time.

Knicks: 27 13 16 16
Celtics: 30 13 9 19

Player of the Game: Rajon Rondo(19 points, 11 assists)

I promise you, imaginary reader, the next post shall be epic.

GUESS WHO'S HERE?

Two-time MVP Steve Nash will join the Boston Celtics after the Suns traded him in exchange for Rajon Rondo. Nash, 36, turns 37 in Ferbruary, and was traded for a future Hall of Famer, Rajon Rondo (who is 24). This move suggests that the Celtics want to push for a ring now, without thinking about the future. Coach Charlie Matherson agreed with that statement, "I'm pretty much just taking the job while Doc Rivers is recovering, therefore, I want to push for the championship this year, and whoever takes over next season can worry about that.

This means the the starting line-up for the Celts are all over 30.

Also, rookie Jonny Flynn was traded for three veterans, them being Von Wafer, Brian Scalabrine and Jermaine O'Neal. Flynn has a bright future ahead of hime, and Kurt Rambis agrees, "Yeah, good luck to him. He'll be a star one year." He also said that like Matherson, he is pushing for title contention this year, "yeah, I'm living in the moment right now, so we can bring O'Neal off the bench for Darko, and we have an epic centrecombination, we can bring scalabrine and Wafer on for our young guns, it's all good."

Charlie Matherson said, "Best of luck to the Timberwolves, we have a future beast point gaurd for when Steve Nash goes.

:applaud: Yeah, man, Steve Nash!!!

Steve Nash will win a ring!!!! But I'm not sure you're looking far enough forward. Five years from now, Rajon Rondo will beast up the NBA and Nash will likely be retired. While this trade is good for you now (Nash still is the best PG in the league), it's not so good for later. Rondo is the future of the Celtics, not Johnny Flynn.

Nash, Allen, Pierce, KG, Shaq - holy shit, that's an old line-up. Rondo for Nash is a bad trade for you.

CELTICS GM/COACH FIRED

Charlie Matherson has been sacked by the Boston Celtics after multiple questionable moves, one that sent future MVP Rajon Rondo for Phoenix Suns Steve Nash, a former MVP who is now starting to decline skill-wise. Matherson was quoted as saying, "Yeah, I'm really devastated, the Celts were good fun and I now regret my point guard swap with the Suns." When asked about future jobs he responded, "I heard that Minnesota are keen on getting rid of (David) Khan, the Cavs, Suns, Raptors and Kings have all approached me with offers." We asked the Suns if they approached Matherson, which they denied.

"I'm considering the T'Wolves, Cavaliers and Phoenix at the moment, but going to Toronto or Sacramento wouldn't be horrendous." he added. Whether he will be picked up by another team or not, he will be known fir the shortest stint as GM and Coach.

(so I played on a bit and ended up hating the Celts, so I brought this up.)

I don't think I've ever heard/read a GM saying that they regret their moves, even Isiah Thomas said "I would make every trade again". *shudders* Poor Doc though, slamming into a bus.

Sort of a prediction contest, whoever guesses what team I'm going to gets a surprise. I'll dew a few more things like these, so look out for them.

Cleveland Cavaliers | 57 | 64 | 63
Sacramento Kings | 64 | 68 _ 66
Toronto Raptors | 60 | 60 | 60

SUNS AND CELTICS MAKE ANOTHER BLOCKBUSTER TRADE!

The Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics have made another trade to follow up the Rondo-Nash trade. In a suprisibg move, the Suns have offered controversial GM Charlie Matherson a 1 year deal worth reportedly not much. The Celtics have offered Lance Banks a short stint as both GM and Coach until Doc Rivers returns from his car crash.

Matherson said, "I'm happy that I can come over here, we are serious playoff contenders, especially with Rondo," when asked if he traded Rondo knowing he would join the Suns he said, "Nah, I thought that Steve Nash would add something to the Celts, but I think the partnership of Rajon and Grant Hill will dominate, so I won't go trading Nash back."

z02 and Kubik, I'll pm your reward, no NLSC draftees, as I don't know how to do it (ps2)
