Everyone knew that Andray Blatche was going elsewhere when his contract expired, and the Grizzlies gave Blatche his wish, but a few months earlier than planned.

The Memphis Grizzlies traded Marc Gasol to the Washington Wizards for all-star Andray Blatche.

The West All-Stars defeated the East All-Stars, 101-76

Washington Wizards (17-10) at Utah Jazz (12-14) at 7:30pm est - Away Team Box Score - Home Team Box Score

THE STORYLINE: The Wizards visited the Spurs for a classic heavyweight matchup, the game was close until the Wizards started hitting 3 pointers non stop which put them out of reach.

WHAT WE SAW:

Hitting a Wall? John Wall or commonly known as J-Wow now may of scored 26 points, adding 16 assists and recorded 5 steals but he went a disastrous 10 of 38 on field goals and 3 of 13 on three pointers, Wall is still the favorite to win the MVP award with less than 1 month or so left in the season.

WASHINGTON (AP) — For the fifth consecutive time this season, All-Star starting Washington Wizard point guard John Wall was named the East's player of the month despite playing in just one game, and that one game was played at the very end of March, the honor of which he took, and has swept so far this season.

Miami Heat (19-9) at Washington Wizards (18-10) at 7:30pm est - Away Team Box Score - Home Team Box Score

THE STORYLINE: The Wizards visited the Spurs for a classic heavyweight matchup, the game was close until the Wizards started hitting 3 pointers non stop which put them out of reach.

WHAT WE SAW:

Wizards steal away division, #1 seed in conference: What a turnaround the Washington Wizards have had, they won their last seven of eight to pole vault up five places to take the #1 seed. The Wizards right now are no question the #1 team in the NBA, they look like one and done's by mid January when they lost to Dallas.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Forty-Two long year's waiting has finally ended. John Wall was voted as the 2011 League MVP.

"I first want to thank my family, my coach, the Washington Wizards organization, my team-mates, Kentucky, everyone that has helped me accomplish this goal of mine," said Wall as he spoke about privileged he was on accepting and winning the award.

The Last Washington Wizard to receive the award was back in 1969, and the hall of famer went by the name Wes Unseld.

"John Wall is the league's best player," said coach Flip Saunder to the media after the ceremony. "It's an award he thoroughly deserved, he deserved it last year, but I guess, a one year wait really paid off, he's such a dynamic baller, he's just the best."

Wall averaged 20.8 points per game, 15.2 assists per game, 4.0 steals per game and hit 48% of his field goals.

2011 NBA Awards:

Most Valuable Player: John Wall (Washington Wizards)
Rookie of the Year: Jan Vesely (Phoenix Suns)
Sixth Man of the Year: Stephen Jackson (Charlotte Bobcats)
Defensive Player of the Year: Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics)
Most Improved Player: Rodrigue Beaubois (Dallas Mavericks)
Coach of the Year: Terence Gatson (Memphis Grizzlies)
