That's an uncharacteristic loss to the Pistons. The next three games are more like it.
Thu Dec 16, 2010 9:53 pm
It was a very poor game for Westbrook. Only 4 points and 3 assists. Although he did struggle with foul trouble.
Is Deron's brilliant master-class of 20 turnovers a record by any chance?
Thu Dec 16, 2010 11:15 pm
I believe so.

Pretty close race at the top of each conference. Hard luck against the Spurs, looks like a tough night for Westbrook. Solid wins over the Rockets and Timberwolves though.

There's some tough games coming up. Lakers up soon and I finally get to play the Heat at the end of March.
Mon Dec 20, 2010 7:13 pm
Good stuff. I reckon 55-60 wins isn't out of the question at this point.

I went on a 22-7 run in the last couple of minutes of the second quarter. Basically set up the win there.
I tried to give me bench guys an extended run in the fourth, but aparently a 17 point lead isn't quite 'garbage time' against the Lakers.
Had to send in the starters to make sure of the win.
Thu Dec 23, 2010 12:05 am
Wow nice game by Green with that triple-double. Durantula - huge as always.
Thu Dec 23, 2010 8:41 am
Nice wins.

Is that Green's third or fourth triple double on the season?
Thu Dec 23, 2010 10:24 am
Fourth. He's also had 25 double-doubles.
Something tells me he'll be getting a new contract at the end of the season.
Thu Dec 23, 2010 7:57 pm
I should think so. Since you've made some moves to try and make a run at some free agents though, do you have anyone in particular in mind?
Thu Dec 23, 2010 8:51 pm
I checked the list of expiring contracts and these are some of the ones that interest me:
Tony Parker, Yao Ming, Aaron Brooks, Joakim Noah, Marc Gasol, Al Horford, JR Smith, Rodney Stuckey, Michael Conley, Marcus Thornton
Mario Chalmers, Tyson Chandler, Delonte West, Arron Afflalo, DeAndre Jordan, Kendrick Perkins, Corey Brewer, Greg Oden, Thaddeus Young
Jared Dudley, Luc Mbah a Moute, Sebastian Telfair, Wilson Chandler, Nick Young, Marco Belinelli, Glen Davis, Ronnie Price, Brandan Wright.
I'm aiming to secure a youngish big man. Also, I might try and grab a decent backup point guard.
Just hypothetically, can you sign a free agent and then immediately trade him to another team?
(I know it's possible in the game, I just mean could it happen in real life or is it kinda harsh?
)
Thu Dec 23, 2010 11:53 pm
There's a few decent players to choose from then.

In real life, teams can only do it when re-signing their own free agents.
Fri Dec 24, 2010 12:27 am
So if none of my preferred targets are available, it would be unrealistic to sign someone else and trade them for a player in the preferred position?
e.g. Sign a highly rated Shooting Guard and then trade for a Center.
Guess I'll just have to hope it doesn't come to plan B.
Fri Dec 24, 2010 10:02 am
Correct, it wouldn't happen in real life. But for the purpose of the story, you could do it and say that those players were involved in a sign-and-trade deal that included multiple teams.

I held them scoreless for the last 2-3 minutes of the third quarter.
I let my bench play all of the fourth quarter, until the last minute when it was close.

It wouldn't be NBA Live without a dominant performance by Nash.

Solid home win.
