As I said, they might be stacked but I'm really interested in that PG rotation... with both Michael Beasley and Corey Brewer out (the Wolves had to use Tolliver at SF against me), the CPU traded Jonny Flynn to the Sixers for Thaddeus Young. I was gonna approve it, but then with Beasley and Brewer back, they also had Hayward, it would be just too stacked.

Surprised to see Melo, Rose and D-Will so high in the All-Star voting, they aren't nearly as good in mine.

I'd actually prefer to see Rose in the ASG, I'm not too fond of Rondo's style of play.

Good to see Yao kicking ass, hopefully Bynum won't catchup, certainly wouldn't want to see that.

Maggette goes up for 22, Parker goes down injured in Spurs' annihilation of Portland
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (POR :: SAS)

SAN ANTONIO, December 12 -- Antonio McDyess called it after loss to Atlanta: “One thing I'm very excited about is the way we bounce back after a loss. (...) We always bounce back, we hate to lose. Hope the Blazers are ready for us.” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich made the right choice when he gave Corey Maggette a spot in the starters rather than one in the bench after a 3-point, 5-fouls statline against the Hawks. Maggette scored 10 points in the first quarter and finished with a season-high 22 points to help the Spurs improve to 16-7 with a 101-77 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers; Maggette finished with 16 in the first half. "I'm just trying to run the plays and get familiar with everybody. Before he got injured, Tony, and George did a huge job of getting me the ball in good positions to hit my shots,” Maggette said. DeJuan Blair hit a up-and-under in the last play of the first quarter to give the Spurs a 28-19 lead; Blair scored 15 points and eight rebounds.

Tim Duncan scored 11 for the Spurs, which shot 33-of-76 from the field (43 percent) while Portland struggled at 30 percent (26-of-85). “No disrespect to the Blazers, but the game tonight was pretty easy. They were struggling, and we did our job,” Duncan said. “We're playing hard, playing good team defense and we're sharing the ball offensively.” Nicolas Batum scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, while Brandon Roy, despite a strained hamstring, had a solid night with 17 points and five assists. Andre Miller shot 1-of-9 from the field for only 5 points, while rookie Wesley Matthews added 5 points -- all from the free throw line -- and LaMarcus Aldridge 16 points. Matched up against Duncan, Blazers center Greg Oden had 10 points and eight rebounds in 30 minutes. “There's really not much to say when you get outplayed like this,” Oden said. Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan said, “We need to step up. We can't have this record with the quality of this players. I think our focus as a basketball team is not right; I'm the head coach and I'll take full responsibility for that.” The Blazers fell to 11-13.

With 9:49 left in the third quarter, Tony Parker went for a layup but collisioned with Portland's Marcus Camby and didn't return to the game. Spurs medical staff confirmed he's suffering from back spasms and will be out for a week; he scored just four points. George Hill took over the point guard duties and scored 10 points and five assists for the Spurs. Manu Ginobili scored 10 of his 14 points in the first half as he was 3-of-12 from the field, and was benched for the start of the second half. Popovich said, “His shot was off, there's no question about that.” Manu re-entered the game when the fourth quarter started, but this time went 2-of-8, finishing with a poor 5-of-20 field goals. He added, “It just wasn't me out tonight. I hope it is just a matter of time before I get back into my rhythm.” Hill said, “He wasn't a 16-plus scorer in the league for the last few seasons for no reason. He is more than capable; he is just having some tough performances. I have no doubt he'll bounce back.” Rookie James Anderson added 6 points on 2 treys as the Spurs' bench outscored Portland's, 35-19.

    Injury sidelines Tony Parker for at least a week
    nba.com/spurs/beat | December 13th, 2010

    SAN ANTONIO -- Spurs guard Tony Parker suffered back spasms during the third quarter against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night at the AT&T Center and did not return to the game. He is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, but coach Gregg Popovich said it's likely the Frenchman won't play. “I'm ruling him out for the next game, but we have to wait until tomorrow to see how he feels and to see when he will be back,” Pop said. “Back spasms, that's tough.” Last season, Parker only played in 56 games averaging 16.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists. This year, Parker had played in all 23 games. He is the Spurs' fourth-leading scorer after Manu Ginobili (16.8), Tim Duncan (14.8) and Corey Maggette (12.1), with 11.7 points, but is the team's leader in assists with 8.2. Parker played only 12 minutes against the Trail Blazers and scored four points. He doesn't usually score on dunks, but he did in the first half over rookie Armon Johnson.

    The Spurs' injury history is long this year; it began in the first game of the season when rookie shooting guard James Anderson suffered a lower back strain, and Ginobili suffered another in the second game of the year. Antonio McDyess and Maggette also had spells on the sidelines. Today on practice, Parker said that he felt some pain through his back and Popovich placed him in the injured / inactive list and activated guard Garrett Temple. With the injury to Parker, Popovich made scrimmages today with George Hill in the starting lineup and Temple as his backup; also Ginobili playing some minutes at the point. “It's always tough when you lose a starter, especially Tony, who I thought was playing pretty well in all these games,” Popovich added. “He goes down, so all of a sudden you have George and Garrett who have to step into those roles. I'm sure they will play pretty well and make Tony proud in his absence.”

Sucks to loose TP. He's not really scoring much in your D (which I can't understand, he's so quick and nifty around the basket ...), but George Hill might use his chance to get more PT and play well.

Manu, Spurs outshine Bucks in key third quarter; overcome Redd's vintage performance
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (MIL :: SAS)

SAN ANTONIO, December 15 -- Manu Ginobili carried the Spurs over his shoulders early -- Corey Maggette put them over the top down the stretch. Maggette sparked a decisive third-quarter run as San Antonio improved to 17-7 in a 98-81 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. In a highly entertaining game, the Spurs showed why they are leading the Western Conference, using a 16-6 run to start the game. The Bucks then led by as many as seven points in the second quarter, but George Hill posted 3 consecutive assists on a jumper by Larry Hughes, sandwiched between 3-pointers by Ginobili; a quick 8-0 run that gave the Spurs a one-point lead. The Argentinian made 5-of-7 shots (14 points) in a first half that ended with the Spurs holding a 52-46 lead. “George played great,” Hughes (6 points) said. “He is a great guy that knows how to command the ball so much; he drawed so much attention, that left most of us open for a lot of easy baskets.” Hill posted 12 points and 6 assists starting in place of Tony Parker, who suffered back spasms in the Spurs' 101-77 win over Portland three days ago. Rookies Tiago Splitter and James Anderson added 8 points apiece.

A jumper by Maggette gave San Antonio a 56-48 lead in the first minutes of the third quarter -- he scored 11 of his 18 points in this period. John Salmons's 3-pointer put Milwaukee behind by 5 points at 60-55, but Hill had an explosive dunk to start the decisive 13-2 spark for a 73-57 score. “I thought the whole second half that we had good rhythm,” Maggette said. “They made some plays in the first to keep themselves in the contest, but we had a run left in us. We were able to get in the paint and get the ball to shooters, that was the key for our win.” Entering the final quarter, San Antonio held a 76-60 lead, as Tim Duncan signed yet another double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. The Spurs shot 44 percent (37-of-83), but a poor 16 percent (2-of-12) from 3-point territory, while the Bucks shot 36 percent (33-of-91) and were outrebounded, 54-39 and fell to a 9-15 record. Drew Gooden burned his former team for 12 points and 14 rebounds; Gooden played for the Spurs in the 2008-09 season. Former Chicago Bull Luol Deng, who was acquired by the Bucks in a 4-team offseason deal that sent Maggette to the Spurs, scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals for Milwaukee. “To play the way we played, especially in the second half, was disappointing to see,” Deng said. “We didn't shoot very well. We'll look to bounce back next match.” Andrew Bogut shot 3-of-17 for only 8 points.

“I think we made a statement to the rest of the league,” said Ginobili, who finished the night with 7-of-13 shots and 20 points, bouncing back from a terrible 5-of-20 night against the Trail Blazers. “I think whatever they throw at us, as long as we do a great job of recognizing it early, we'll be in great shape. Look out for us this year.” The Spurs also received an acceptable game from backup Garrett Temple, who was activated when the Spurs placed Parker in the injured list; he scored 6 points and 2 assists, and also a big jumper to beat the third quarter buzzer. Michael Redd had a stunning, retro performance for Milwaukee: a game-high 26 points off the bench in just 20 minutes, 10-of-15 field goals, 2-of-2 3-pointers. Redd torn his ACL last January, and he was shut down for the rest of the 2009-10 season; didn't appear in any playoff games and could only play in 18 regular season games. “I'm loving how Michael is playing. We all felt bad about what happened to him last season,” Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. “He went through a lot. He's a guy who has given the Bucks everything in this past decade and has been terrific for us this season.” The outside shooting of Salmons (3-of-5, 17 points) and Redd also helped compensate for the absence of Brandon Jennings, who is suffering a torn hamstring and hasn't played since November 20 for the Bucks. Keyon Dooling started in his place and scored only 2 points, but a game-best 10 dishes.

Yep, not serious. (Y) Didn't have an important injury so far; all of them were small and the players could play through them, but I never risk my players and I put them in the inactive list...

I score the most with Duncan, Maggette and Ginobili, and Parker for the playmaking... if any of the 3 is struggling badly, I go with Parker. Hill's having some nice games, lots of dunks, And-1's... :bowdown:

    So... why did Denver suddenly get this much snow?
    nba.com/spurs/beat | December 16th, 2010

    SAN ANTONIO -- Think of this as a meteorological uppercut to Colorado. In one corner, there's a low-pressure front hailing from California. In the opposite corner, strong winds from the north. When the two opposing forces collided over Denver yesterday, much of the state ended up buried under a foot of snow. “The trouble with this low is that it got cut off from the main flow of the ribbon of air across the city,” said National Weather Service meteorologists in Denver. In addition to copious amounts of snow, the storm was also packing stiff winds across much of the state. For the most part, the storm was tracking just as forecasters predicted. The most recent forecast predicted freezing temperatures would persist through the week. It's somewhat opposite of what the San Antonio Spurs have experienced for the last 2 weeks.

    This last 6 games the Spurs played were at Texas, where you could see the sun shining for the last 15 days. At the AT&T Center, the team posted a 5-1 record, only losing to the Atlanta Hawks on December 10. “I would say is not the best temperature out there. It's freezing,” Tim Duncan said. “I hate cold days like these.” While the storm didn't deliver the most snow the Denver area has ever seen, forecasters were predicting up to two feet of snow in Denver and even more in the southern parts of the city and foothills as of this morning. The Spurs will play their second straight game without point guard Tony Parker, who suffered back spasms in the Spurs win over Portland on December 12. George Hill, Garrett Temple and Manu Ginobili will share minutes at the point.

    The Denver Nuggets are uncertain if Rudy Fernandez can arrive in time for today's home game against the Spurs, after this blizzard shut down most of the city; two days ago, the Nuggets traded Renaldo Balkman and a 1st round pick to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Fernandez. “Rudy was expected to fly here in time for the our game against the Spurs, but whether he plays depends on whether both him and Renaldo can report to their new teams and pass physicals,” Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri said. “Everyone on the Nuggets organization thanks Renaldo for his efforts. We wish him the best of luck with the Blazers.” Ujiri hoped Fernandez would arrive shortly thereafter the trade, but the storm which dumped two feet of snow on the Denver metro area this week closed down the airport, threatening Rudy's debut with the team. We won't repeat the numerous reports of Fernandez wanting to leave Portland and even returning to Europe.

    “When will he get here? We've got to ask the meteorologists,” said Nuggets coach George Karl. Balkman was expected to fly to Portland tonight, Ujiri added. If Fernandez isn't able to play tonight, he'll have to wait another few nights before another chance: Denver doesn't take the court again until next Saturday against Minnesota. Denver made the push for Fernandez to in wake of injuries to Arron Afflalo and Shelden Williams; Afflalo has a inflamed elbow from the Nuggets' 134-95 loss against New York, while Williams suffered a sore hamstring last week, when Denver defeated the Toronto Raptors 116-93. “There must be something good that comes out of this nightmare,” Afflalo said. “Injuries, freezing cold...” Denver has a 13-11 record, as tonight marks the first of four meetings between the Spurs and Nuggets this season. Last year, the teams tied the season series 2-2.

Thanks man! Yeah, had a lot of injuries but the team has been great.

Hill is averaging close to 6 apg, nice for a PG backup. Temple had another 2, but as I said before, I was thinking of trading him for a shitty 2nd round pick so I can get Ginobili playing some PG too.

Lol yeah, that sucks... I still have a challenge of getting him a triple-double, it's gonna be damn hard...

Valor wrote:Sucks about the injury but at least it's only a week, by the looks of it you'll cruise along as usual (Y)

Thanks man. Yeah Tony will be back soon, hopefully he will return and score 25+ :cheeky:

The X wrote:I don't see an issue with it. If Joakim Noah & Chris Bosh can do it IRL then why not Manu in 1/2 game? Or am I missing something?

Well yeah, that's true. But considering how Manu is playing IRL, 0 rebounds... don't like it. :|

The Cats are raped by trading off DJ. What's wrong with Manu? He can even grab some balls.

Jae wrote:Wow great stuff Thierry, just read that whole thing. Hope you can keep it up, also the Spurs were my favourite team as a kid.
I think interacting with retards by banning them has affected you Jae. As you seem to now have some sort of mild brain damage if you like a Thierry story. Please don't ban me. :|

That's not nice shadow. A lot of effort has gone into this, more than his usual stories.

Balanced scoring, Manu's triple-double power Spurs past Nuggets; lose Duncan to lower back strain
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (SAS :: DEN)

DENVER, December 16 -- Manu Ginobili's scoring and passing are a given, but the Argentinian also prides himself on his rebounding. After he had zero rebounds in the win against Milwaukee last night, Ginobili had 21 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists for his first triple-double of the season, and the San Antonio Spurs maintained the No. 1 seed in the West with a 99-92 victory over the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center. With Tim Duncan suffering a lower back strain with 7:37 left in the first quarter, Ginobili had to take the scoring; with Denver throwing double-teams at him, he passed to open teammates for easy shots and also was very clever in the boards. “That's when we're at our best, sharing the ball,” Ginobili said. Manu reached double digits in assists when he dished to Larry Hughes for a trey that gave San Antonio a 89-79 lead. He already had 10 rebounds. “We ran that last play for me to get the last dish, that was a great play design and Larry drained it,” Ginobili added. “It sucks to see Tim go down with another injury. I can say the injury big has hit us hard this season.” The Spurs had 20 assists on 32 field goals, were almost perfect from the free throw line (25-of-26) and their bench won, 29-15.

Ginobili went 8-of-17 from the field and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe as the Spurs moved to 18-7. “Manu did everything,” said his teammate George Hill, who had his best offensive night of the season, with 22 points, 15 in the first half, and 3 assists. “He set the table, he accepted double-teams, he moved the ball and hit shots. Incredible night for him.” Corey Maggette added 21 points and 8 rebounds and Antonio McDyess contributed 12 points and 14 boards for San Antonio, which now has a lead over the Los Angeles Lakers to 1.5 games; the Lakers have a 17-9 record. Ginobili, Hill and Maggette combined for 64 points in Duncan's absence, but Maggette's defense on Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony was a huge factor in the triumph. “The key to the game was the job that Corey did on Anthony,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “I must admit Corey isn't the best out there on defense. Anthony's one of the toughest guys in the league to guard and Corey took the challenge, and did it wonderfully.” Anthony went 7-of-27 from the field for 19 points, 9 below his season average (27.9). “I must admit I struggled a little bit,” Anthony said. J.R. Smith scored a game-best 25 points (10-of-17 shots) to go with 4 assists and Chauncey Billups had 17 and 11 for the Nuggets, who stand at a non-expected 13-12 record. Billups' backup Ty Lawson, involved in trade rumors away from the Nuggets, scored 7 points in 9 minutes.

DeJuan Blair had an off night for the Spurs, going only 1-of-3 from the floor and finishing with 6 points, suffocated by the defense of Chris Andersen (2 points, 6 boards) and Kenyon Martin. Martin finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds for Denver. With the Spurs leading by 10 at halftime, Maggette scored the Spurs' next six points, a pair of 3s, for a 57-41 lead; San Antonio went on to lead by as many as 20 points, but Smith and Anthony carried the Nuggets to a 13-2 run to by down by only 5, 77-72. Denver's top rebounder Nené was nowhere to be seen with only 3 points. Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo, with an inflamed elbow, missed his second straight game. Afflalo is known for his nice defense, and the Nuggets didn't have another acceptable defender to muscle up on Ginobili. “When a physical presence isn't on Manu, he has a lot of freedom, and he took advantage of that tonight,” Nuggets coach George Karl said. Acquired from the Portland Trail Blazers this morning, Rudy Fernandez arrived in Denver on time and was enabled to make his debut for the Nuggets; he played 5 minutes and scored 4 points, perfect from the field -- 2/2 shots. “This was one of those games we gotta go get and win, no matter if it's frustration or fatigue,” Karl added. “No matter what, this was a must-win game to get a winning streak going.” Denver was coming off Tuesday's last-minute 95-93 win over Orlando.

Thanks man. I'd bet at least 6 or 7 people already have the tickets and passports ready. :lol:

He can grab some rebs, and yes he did against the Nuggets.

Hey, one time things are going smooth, I think it's ok if I have more followers.

Again thanks Jae.

Sucks to see both Tony and Tim out with injuries, but well... I think a couple of losses will come, unless the new Big 3 (Manu-Hill-Maggs) explodes for almost 70 again :( Tomorrow... a new NCAA game.
