game crashes... help please!

i'm having some trouble with nba 2k11.. every time i start a match right after starting the game the screen is normal, but i can't edit starting line ups and everybody on the court is named aaron brooks (i'm playing with the rockets).. i select rematch and everything goes fine..
however midway the 3rd quarter the commentators stop talking, and a few minutes laters the game crashes.
anybody having a similar problem? i used to be able to play the game without any problems

nopee.. i even tried reparing the files with the installer but everything's the same...

I have the same problem like you.

Firstly, I think this kind of bugs will only appear in My player but trust me, now, it happen every mode even "quick game."

My platform is PC.

My crash is like frame rate will start to drop. The games will slow down. Commentaries will gone.

after that it will blackout. the screen will black (sometimes, heard only commentaries, no picture.) Finally, it will crash.


I tried to use "alt+clt+del " to check that is something wrong on my desktop? Frequently, I saw "tasmgr.exe error message."


I don't know what to do with this game. I mean it's great but the bugs in this game are just so annoying.

don't wanna flame but need to point out one thing: buying the retail version helps a lot for these kind of troubles.

What's your graphic card (nvidia or Ati) and video setting in the game?

I just wondered that it has to be something with my graphic card.
I ran this game on my colleague's pc at the office. Everythings looked fine. both Lal vs Bull (intro game) and one quickgame. Don't have chance to try association mode yet but I think it will be okay.

Tonight, i will install this game again and try to lower video settings in this game to check what will happen.

PS. I can play other games like Mafia 2 and Fifa 11 smoothly.

I have a ATI HD 4350.. this bug is starting to annoy me... i've alredy tried reinstalling

Update....

I reinstalled the game again last night and set my graphic card to default ( no oc anymore)

the result was the same.



Tonight, I will try to shut down AA to check this up.


I heard for a guy who use Win 7 OS that he never experienced any crashes.

So, the os will be a next suspect for me.

Update

Finally, I could pass Lal vs Chi (intro game) now but don’t feel that it can run stable yet cause still have crashes on the menu couple times.

Here was the last try that work (for me) at least for now (I have to check it with a full association game tonight)

1. I used an uninstall menu (the third one in sub menu that clear registry)
2. uninstalled game
3. check the readme file and you will find a suggestion about setting virtual memory, followed that
4. re-installed game

I will check everything again this night.

I just uninstall this game and only wait for the patch to come out.


Any Windows 7 users who have experienced any crashes before in this game?

It will frustrate me more if this game can run smoothly on Win 7.
Cause like I said, a guy told me that his game run without any problem in WIN 7.

I'm using win7, and it works perfectly fine. Just run as an admin and tweak a little in the compatibility.

Same thing happens to me. I bought two copies of the game.

One installed on an i7-860 system with 2 Radeon 4890's. Runs fine, no crashes.


Second installed on a Q6600 with Radeon 4850. Crashes after 30 minutes of gameplay or so. Runs perfectly fine and smoothly up to that point.

I've tried:

1) repairing the install
2) uninstalling then reinstalling
3) updating the drivers (twice). Running Catalyst 10.11 now.

Nada, bupkus. Problems still persist. Game starts lagging really badly in ALL game modes, not just My Player. Then you get a black screen. Sometimes you can't even go back to the Win XP desktop and have to restart the machine from a cold boot.

Totally sucks man. I can't get through a single game.

Win 7 here, no crashes whatsoever...

im still using xp sp3 and my game crashes randomly. the crashes stopped when i stop using my gaming mouse windows X5.

one thing i've noticed is that when i'm playing cpu gets to 130º F .. before it crashes.. it may go even higher.. i haven't overclocked my graphic card.. so is this normal? i think its way to high..

Update (and maybe the last update from me)

I installed this game in Win 7 64 bit
and it run perfectly.

So, i think maybe the problem will depend on OS not CPU or any hardware problems

(I open Hardwaremonitor during games and most of the time my CPU (Q6700) temps is not over 75-78 C. and VGA (Ati 5750) is around 75 c (no OC.)

So, I suggest you try to run this game on Win7.

Hope that everyone will have a great time with this game.
