How is it? Loved DKC back in the day.

I didn't/don't (VC) really care for the DK games because I had issues with knowing if I actually hit a ledge or would fall off. The remake though is bliss. It feels like the old DK games with some nice additions (an attack roll, blowing, ground pound) and it has a lot of "epic" moments like dodging friggin Tsunamis.

Watch the Gametrailers review if you need a good idea, but I love the remake more than any of the old games.

Just fired up Hot Pursuit 2 for the first time in years. How is it so much more fun than Hot Pursuit 2010?

Is it really? That was one of the first PS2 games I got. Brings back some really good memories. Still have one more car to unlock iirc.

Yeah, Hot Pursuit 2010 is fun, and has great graphics, but the career mode is done so poorly, with insane difficulty spikes and no real direction. It's essentially Burnout 6 (the gameplay engine is recycled), and that series has been in decline since Revenge.

Hot Pursuit 2 obviously doesn't have the beautiful graphics or sense of speed that 2010 has, but the courses are better (or at least far more memorable) and the event tree was brilliant.

I also love how you have to pay for many of the cars and must purchase your own brand new copy if you want to play online.

what? Paradise was fantastic

Not really. Open worlds don't really work with Burnout. The game is too fast paced to have to bother with the map. At the later stages of the game, it was just an exercise in frustration. (Not to mention the city was poorly designed - I remember getting trapped on the mountain, doing circles around it, looking for an exit back to the city)

I remember doing circles in the mountains for like 10 minutes or so.

Not me, that's what the map is for. Still play Paradise a lot.

Recently got NCAA Football 11, so after I got some nice sliders (SECElites's on OS) I am having a shitload of fun with it now.

Picked up Splinter Cell: Conviction pretty cheap for PC, and I must say I'm pretty happy with it so far. I know it got panned by lots of people because you have to stay online at all times with it (like Assassin's Creed), but it's a shame that its qualities are overshadowed by something as minor as that. The game is absolutely gorgeous, and while it's certainly not the the stealthy SC we've come to know, it shines for other aspects. Double Agent was a buggy piece of crap but this one is great

Yeah Conviction kicked ass. Too bad I can't play it on my PC.

left 4 dead 1 and 2 still consume my soul. Especially with friends around to kill things with. Few things better than thousands of zombies trying to kill you and your friends.
