Will you mean? Still hard for them to beat the Lakers' front-court in the West though

Me neither, the streak was crazy....

I would prefer though to see the Bulls snapping this streak instead

Well, they beat us earlier in the season to get to 16-0...so if it's us snapping the streak it'll be much later in the season and the Lakers can kiss their 33 game streak record goodbye...and maybe our beloved Bulls can kiss their 72-10 record goodbye, so I'm gonna say THANK YOU OKC (Y)

Captain Kirk's Classic Performance Sends Bulls Past Rockets
Image
Kirk Hinrich caps of a terrific game with a game winning three at the buzzer

Houston, TX - Rule number thirteen - Don't ever taunt the opposing bench or their players if you can't handle the consequences.

Martti Must learnt the hard way tonight, typical rookie mistake.

Houston's rookie power forward made a buzzer beating three pointer at the end of the first quarter from way down town and Bulls forward Taj Gibson in his face.

Great, right?

Too bad he couldn't keep his mouth shut, cause it came back to bite him on the arse.

Bulls veteran guard Kirk Hinrich, not amused at the rookie's continuous trash talking and taunting at his team, turned it up in crunch time and turned in a performance of the ages.

Remember that 13 points in 33 seconds performance that former Rockets star Tracy McGrady had against the Spurs?

This one was just as good, if not better.

Hinrich scored 9 points and had 1 assist in the final 26 seconds of the ball game, all 3 field goals coming from the great beyond and includes the game winning shot at the buzzer, to finish with 29 points and 5 assists in a terrific clutch performance that has the Bulls escaping Houston with a one point win, 112-111.

As if those three clutch 3-pointers weren't enough, Hinrich was on fire the whole game, going 7 for 8 from downtown in his 29 minutes of play, including some from 30-plus feet away.

"Shot felt good today" Chicago's very own Captain Kirk said following the game "Maybe that'll keep the rookie's mouth shut"

Certainly, it did.

Must had just 7 points, 4 reboudns and 3 assists in 15 minutes of play and was left stunned on the bench as Hinrich knocks down the game winning three at the buzzer. To add insult to injury, the veteran guard of the Bulls strolled past the Rockets bench and gave the 6 foot 9 rookie a carefree shrug.

The Rockets seemed to have had the game under control with a solid, double-digit lead late in the fourth that was orchestrated by the game-high 36 point performance of Kevin Martin and the solid interior work of Yao Ming despite being shut-down by Chicago center Joakim Noah.

Then, Hinrich went to work, and the rest is history.

"Unbelieveable, except it happaned" Rockets coach Rick Aldeman stated "I thought our guys played well, they played hard, but it's tough to have it end like this"

The Bulls have now won three straight and will look to extend that streak to four games as they travel to the home of yet another Texas powerhouse - Dallas tomorrow night for a back to back, while the Rockets remain in third place on the Western Conference standings with a record of 19-7.

Kidd, Mavs takes win over Bulls in nail-biter
Image
Derrick Rose did all he could, but still couldn't get the win for his ball club

Dallas, TX - Like wine, Jason Kidd just gets better with age.

With 14 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists on a very efficient 6 for 11 shooting, the 38 year old, 18th year veteran point guard led his Mavericks team to a 98-96 victory over the visiting Chicago Bulls.

This had the makings of a great game even before tip-off, as it involved two great point guards. One, a sure future hall of famer that has racked up over 12000 assists in his career, and over 100 triple doubles. The other, a rising star in the league that is a constant source of exitement on the court due to this insane athletic ability.

They certainly did not disappoint tonight, as Derrick Rose dropped in 30 points and dished out 5 assists on 12 for 16 shooting to stand his ground against the savvy veteran. However, it wasn't enough as Carlos Boozer's 17 foot jumper off a Rose pass failed to send the game into overtime at the buzzer.

Boozer had 18 points and 8 boards for Chicago, Joakim Noah added a double double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

For the Mavs, Caron Butler led the team in scoring with 26 points while Dirk Nowitzki notched 21 points and 10 rebounds. Jason Terry came off the bench for 14 points of his own as the Mavericks offense flowed perfectly in the first three quarters thanks to Kidd's ability to run the team.

"You just need to get open, and he'll find you" said Butler "I don't think there is a better point guard in the league right now, and he's 38"

Kidd currently leads the league in assists at 11.6 per game.

The Bulls came into the game after a memorable duel in Houston the night before, in which they edged out the Rockets at the buzzer behind the heroic efforts of Kirk Hinrich. While he did not produce another amazing offensive display tonight, Hinrich had a solid game of 10 points and 7 assists in 27 minutes of play.

However, it was again the struggles of the Bulls starting small forward Luol Deng, that was obviously costing them the game.

Deng had just 7 points on 3 for 14 shooting from the field. Despite a career high 39 point outburst earlier in the month against Sacramento, Deng has been fairly inconsistent on offense and struggles more often than not. He's averaging just under 11 points per game for Chicago thus far.

"He needs to get his confidence back and also make the smart plays" said Bulls coach Byron Scott "Some of his shots were questionable at best"

The Bulls will now return home with a 16-9 record while the Mavs move up to 5th place in the stacked Western Conference at 16-8.

Very good game by Rose, but the Mavs have a really balanced squad ... there's always somebody who's hot on their roster. Liking that Kidd layup pic (Y)

When you have a point guard as good as Kidd on the team...everyone's gonna catch fire

Deng can't play well even on the virtual world! Damn you Luol! Hopefully for you he will step up from the mediocrity, and it won't be only for one or two matches.

Shaq, Bulls come to terms on extension
December 23rd 2011

Image
Shaquille O'Neal is getting his Christmas present a few days
early this year, in the form of a contract extension.

The Chicago Bulls have announced that they have successfully come
to terms with the 39 year old, 20 year veteran center to a one year
extension worth around $1 million.

The 7 foot 1, 325 pound center was signed to a one year deal this last
off-season, after winning his fifth NBA Championship last season with
the Los Angeles Lakers.

In 19 games played so far, "Air Shaqness" is averaging 7.4 points
and 4.4 rebounds in just over 11 minutes per game coming off the
bench for Chicago.

Robinson explodes for career high 52 against former team
December 23rd 2011

Image
Nate Robinson has been a pleasant surprise for the rebuilding Cleveland Cavaliers
ever since his arrival halfway through last season.

It was no different tonight as the 5 foot 9 point guard scored a career high 52 points against the
Boston Celtics - the team who traded him to Cleveland - and hit the game winning shot at the buzzer
to lead the Cavaliers to a 111-109 victory in the Garden. Robinson hit 20 for 32 shots from the field,
including a 6 for 10 effort from the great beyond in 44 minutes of play. He also had 5 assists and
just 1 turnover.

For the Celtics, Rajon Rondo led the way with 25 points and 8 assists while Kevin Garnett posted a
huge double double of 19 points and 15 rebounds, but there was no answer for the littlest guy on
the floor tonight.

"Danny screwed it up big time, trading him away" joked Garnett "He's got a lot of heart, that guy"

For the season, Robinson is averaging just under 27 points per game. The Cavs are now 10-17,
which is already a tremendous improvement from last season's disaster.

Oden Breaks Foot, Out 4-6 Weeks
December 24th 2011

Image
It's another bad break for center Greg Oden of the San Antonio Spurs as he
suffers a broken foot that will require surgery and keep him out of action for at least
4 to 6 weeks.

Oden suffered the injury during scrimmage in practice, landing awkwardly on teammate
Tim Duncan's foot. He will have surgery in the upcoming days.

Meanwhile, rookie Octavius Ocho started in his place yesterday night in the Spurs' 93-98
defeat to the hands of the visiting Phoenix Suns. Ocho recorded 7 points, 10 rebounds and
2 blocks in the first start of his career, playing in a career high 31 minutes.

Really surprised that he did as well, "perfect timing" :o
His durability is like real low though so maybe not so much of a surprise that it happened, but the timing.....

anyhow, great news for Clutch as he might shoot up the ROY race now (Y)

Sidenote: I know Thierry is praying for season-ending injuries to Joe Johnson, John Salmons, Marvin Williams and James Johnson so he can play big minutes for once
