Grizzlies and Thunder complete trade

The changes continued at Oklahoma City today after they agreed a 4 player deal with Memphis.
They sent guard James Harden to Memphis along with center Cole Aldrich and a future 1st round draft pick.
In return they receive Grizzlies guard OJ Mayo and the expiring contract of Acie Law.
This trade is further evidence to suggest that the Thunder are lining up a big off-season.
Already this season they've offloaded Sefolosha, Collison, Maynor and DJ white for expiring contracts.
Oklahoma City
James Harden - 20 years old - SG - 13.52m - 3 years (80)
Cole Aldrich - 21 years old - C - 11.27m - 5 years (66)
2010 1st Round Draft Pick
Memphis
OJ Mayo - 22 years old - SG - 12.61m - 2 years (83)
Acie Law - 24 years old - PG - 885k - 1 year (70)

Depth
C - Dampier, Krstic, Mullens
PF - Green, Ibaka
SF - Durant, Moon
SG - Mayo, Brown
PG - Westbrook, Cook, Law
Inactive
O'Bryant, Vujacic.
Red = expiring contract
--------------------
The main reason for the trade was maximising cap space for next season.
1 less player drafted = more cap room. Swapping Aldrich for expiring contract of Law.
Including re-signing Green, I plan to have the minimum 8 players on my roster going into free agent signing period.

Nice win over the Nets, fine stat line for Durant. I'm a little surprised to see you trade Harden as he's been playing so well for you but I like the idea of remaining competitive while setting up an opportunity to make a big offseason signing.
Tue Nov 16, 2010 11:43 am
Trading Harden wasn't really ideal. I did want to keep the group together.
But I don't really know how much of my cap room re-signing Green will use and Aldrich wasn't seeing and game time anyway.
Again, I just have to hope some quality big men don't re-sign with their teams in the off-season.

Besides, Mayo is a good scorer.
Mayo - 24.1 ppg - 4.2 rpg - 3.9 apg - 2.1 spg
Harden - 18.1 ppg - 3.4 rpg - 2.5 apg - 2.2 spg

Great triple double for Green, shame you couldn't pick up those last four blocks. Nice debut for Mayo as well.

Mayo, Durant, and Green were all amazing! They had 90 points between them! Not to discredit Westbrook though - he had a good game too.
I think you should give Acie Law some minutes.

Mayo is the new Roy.
The only downside to trading for Mayo is having to learn what shots he can make and which he can't.
(Hence him 45-96 shooting so far.)

Whew... what confuses me is Antawn scoring 29 per game. Otherwise you are going very well. Also Mayo trade worked out well.

A really odd starting line-up for the Bobcats. Jackson at PF, Diaw at SF, Wallace at SG..

Tough loss nevertheless.

Yeah, that's the lineup they have in my dynasty
Martti. Like I've said before, that's how much the sim engine in Live 10 sucks.
Tough loss in OT though, especially when you gave up a big lead.
