Great win Valor. (Y)

I don't like the Kings record. 'Reke, Manu and Bron only 9-7...

Damn, 39 points in 32 minutes is an excellent ratio. (Y)

I know you hate LeBron, but you did a pretty good job not showing any of that hate in the recap. Nice one.

Cheers Thierry, the Kings have those three but they need a better big down low. Jason Thompson and Solomon Alabi are not enough to get them to that next level

Golden State is doing pretty well actually with J-Rich back in town (Y)

Well, i play 10 min quarters so 32 would be 38.4 min
and yes, I tend to do recaps with an objective point of view

Rose's heroics lifts Bulls past Blazers in Portland
Image
Rose knocks down the game winning three at the buzzer

Portland, OR - The Rose Garden should be renamed "Rose's Garden".

He utterly dominated there tonight.

Derrick Rose had a career high 42 points, including the game winning three pointer at the buzzer, to help the Bulls escape Portland with a 103-102 victory over the Blazers. Rose was 16 for 31 from the field, 3 for 6 from downtown, and 7 for 8 from the charity stripe. He also added 12 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals, playing in all but 5 minutes of the game.

"The shot was going in tonight and it was great that we got the win" Rose said following the game "We'll need to get better on the defensive end though"

It was a close contest the whole way, with both teams catching fire offensively. They both shot 48 percent from the field and the Bulls went for an amazing 53 percent from deep, Portland was not too shabby themselves, as they went 8 for 18 (44%).

Surprisingly, the Bulls were beaten badly on the boards, as the Blazers outrebounded them 44 to 33, something that doesn't happen often when you have the second league leading rebounder in Joakim Noah.

Noah had 10 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks while Carlos Boozer added 14 points and 8 rebounds, but they were outplayed by the efforts of the Blazers' frontline of Marcus Camby and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Camby grabbed 13 boards of his own while Aldridge came up big for the Blazers, scoring 20 points on 9 for 12 shooting and took down a game high 16 rebounds.

"They played with more energy and more effort tonight" said Bryon Scott "Enough said, we were lucky Derrick bailed us out, you can't win on the road like that"

Coming off a career high 39 point performance in Sacramento, Luol Deng had another solid performance with 16 points and 4 rebounds while Kyle Korver chipped in with 8 points off the bench.

Brandon Roy led the Blazers with a dominating 38 point, 8 assist performance on 16 for 25 shooting in 36 minutes played, he shot a perfect 5 for 5 from the free throw line but was just 1 for 4 from deep.

"It was a tough loss but you really can't do much about that" said Roy after the game "Just gotta move on, learn from mistakes and play better in the next game"

Blazers rookie Will Sit was shut down by Derrick Rose, and shot just 3 for 13 from the field, finishing with 11 points and 7 assists.

"I had an off night" Sit stated "Rose was lucky"

The Blazers fall to 8-10 for the season while the Bulls extend their win streak to three.

Big game from Rose obviously, but what's most impressive is your having just one turnover.

Surprised at how well my team kept possession of the ball, def a plus when you consider all those rebounds we gave up

Kobe, Lakers crush weary Bulls at Staples
Image

Los Angeles, CA - The Lakers gave Shaq his ring, then proceeded to annihilate his new team.

Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers knew exactly how to take advantage of a tired opponent, as they demolished the visiting Chicago Bulls - who are in town after a nail biter victory in Portland the previous night; 93-75 to tie up the season series between the two clubs and extend their winning streak to four.

The Lakers had previously had their 11 game winning streak snapped back on the 25th of November in Chicago by the Bulls, 102-112.

"We came in and wanted to make a statement" said Kobe Bryant, who led the Lakers with 29 points in just 25 minutes of play "They stopped our streak last time, we ain't going to let them do it again"

Los Angeles never had to give that much of an effort to rout the already-drained Bulls, as none of the Lakers registered more than Kobe's 25 minutes. All of the starters sat out in the fourth quarter.

Ron Artest had 19 points and 6 rebounds while Steve Blake finished with a double double of 11 points and 11 assists. Odom added 7 points and 7 rebound off the bench while Pau Gasol dropped in 6 points and a team-high 12 rebounds.

The Lakers made use of a strong 3rd quarter, in which they outscored Chicago 34 to 17, to seal the game up. The entire fourth quarter was garbage time.

"We were tired, they are the back to back to back defending champs" said Bryon Scott "I think the guys played hard, but we were just outmatched physically"

Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 20 points, but had to take 23 shots to do so. He had a career high 42 points, including the game winner at the buzzer, the previous night in Portland.

Shaquille O'Neal, who only played 7 minutes the night before, gave a big performance against his former team. After recieving his fifth ring for last season's championship, the Air Shaqness poured in 18 points and grabbed 4 boards in 18 minutes.

"It was awesome that they got a little ceremony just for me" Shaq said after the game "I really appreciate how they welcomed me back"

The crowd in the staples center gave O'Neal a standing ovation as he recieved the jewelry pre-game, and also when he checked into the game late in the first quarter.

"Sucks how we lost though" added O'Neal "Hopefully we'll see them in June"

Joakim Noah had 8 points and grabbed a game high 15 rebounds for Chicago while Carlos Boozer added 9 points and 7 boards of his own.

But aside from Shaq, everyone on the Bulls frontline were bothered by the length and size of the Lakers big men - Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, and even sophomore center Miroslav Raduljica, who had a career high 10 rebounds in the win.

The Bulls have their 3 game winning streak snapped, and falls to 11-7 for the season while the Lakers improve to 18-2.
