Re: Welcome to the Garden of Oden. (Hype!)

Diary of Liam Washburn

October 24, 2010 - Holy fucking shit! I can't believe it! My genius plan actually worked! In the short span of two months, I have gone from Rose Garden janitor to the assistant general manager of the Portland Trailblazers!

It wasn't easy. When job candidate Billy Knight showed up for the interview, I was very lucky that Rich Cho hadn't looked up his picture before hand. That Knight's clothes (kind of) fit, and that the sedative was strong enough for him was another blessing.

My extensive knowledge of the CBA and advanced stats (Cho loved it when I brought up Wes Matthew's defensive win shares) impressed him as well. The Abe Lincoln beard I sported made me look far older than my 17 year old age. At the end of the interview, Cho offered his hand and said, "congratulation Mr. Knight, you're hired". I replied "actually, it's Liam Washburn", taking his hand.

Intending to be a Journalism major in college, I opted to create a new Blazers blog. My inside knowledge should provide my blog with a niche not filled by your Blazersedges and your Bust A Buckets.

What's the Happy Haps, Rip City?

October 26, 2010 - Hello. My name is, lets say... Sabonis. Welcome to my humble blog. This may seem like just another generic Blazers blog with a .tk address (working on it!), but its not! Concrete details backing that statement up to come. I did get my hands on the opening night roster though!

hmm, i'm not so easily schwinnng'd! as the rest :?... only 'cause i've high-expectations (from waiting so long for your Blazers) and this is vanilla writing for your talent... like eating week-old donuts or microwaved McD's fries... luckily i'm secure in the fact you're just warming up and new levels of Liamsanity are yet to come

Thanks guys. Like Clutch said though, this is just the beginning. Hoping to make this my biggest and best story yet. (Y)

Also, added the opening night rosters to the last post. Elliot Williams is activated, as he suffered his ACL injury irl after I started the file and used him a couple times.

Looks promising so far. That picture of Ha is absolutely priceless. I'm kind of hoping there will be a point where you sign him to a 10 day deal... But it'd take something pretty catestropic in order for you to need to do that.

Dre and Camby ftw (y)

1 down, 72 to go.

Portland Destroys The Suns In Opener
Almost-Blazer Hedo Turkoglu Scores 0 on 0-9 Shooting

October 27, 2010 - I guess it was a game for a quarter. The Suns looked like they might be fine without Amar'e after all, sticking with us in the first quarter. Then they stopped hitting shots, and we won by 26.

We jumped out to a quick 14-4 start, but in classic Blazer fashion, LaMarcus Aldridge stopped hitting his 15 footers and our iso-Roy offense stagnated. In the second, Rudy Fernandez came to the rescue offensively, scoring 10 of his 16. The Suns, lacking a post presence, started throwing up three-balls. That's when the collapse began. With the exception of Robin Lopez (who had all 6 (!) of the team's blocked shots), the Phoenix D was as abysmal as ever, and with their epic failure to score, garbage time commenced late in the third.

Brandon Roy was the MVP of the game for us, posting a Nash-esque 19 points and 10 assists. Marcus Camby was excellent as well, pulling down an amazing 21 boards in 31 minutes. Nicolas Batum added 17 points, while Aldridge had 15 and 13 on dubious efficiency. The biggest surprise though was rookie point guard Armon Johnson! "Armon Hammer" had 13 points and 3 assists on 5-7 shooting, dominating Goran Dragic in garbage time.

Can't complain about this game overall. We blew out a team we were supposed to blow out, while Johnson showed promise. Meanwhile, the Suns are totally fucked. As a Steve Nash fan, I really hope that he can get traded to a contender (like the Blazers?).

Love this picture! | Probably a brick...

Image 26 17 21 23 87 | S. Nash: 20/6/7; R. Lopez: 12/13/6 blocks
Image 24 26 30 33 113 | B. Roy: 19/3/10; R. Fernandez: 16/2/3, 6-11 FG

Image Mo Lucas Player of the Game: Brandon Roy 19 points, 10 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 9-18 FG (32 minutes)
Image C'Mon Son Shitass of the Game: Hedo Turkoglu: 0 points, 0-9 FG, 0-4 3pt (12 minutes)

With the win, we now improve to 1-0. Tomorrow, we take on Blake Griffin and the Clippers next in Los Angeles. We better fucking win! For now, lets simply savor the sweet, sweet victory.

Peace and chicken grease.

Who needs Oden when Camby can grab 21 in 31 minutes? Nice win, especially when B-Roy can rack up a double-double. (Y)

I find that facing the Phoenix Suns is easy in 2K11, since all they do is just jack up threes, that brick.Like Antoine Walker?

Good first win. The Suns aren't easy to play against though imho. Had problems with their fast pace. But the Blazers are still better than my Sonics I guess.
