Numbers!? I'm more concerned about Yao's hair... seems to be thinning quick-style especially in the front! :)

nice work vs LA but tough loss vs OKC... KD's 30/20 is just nasty... btw, looks nothing like KD in the pic; more like Billy Dee Williams

OKC killed your winning streak though. :(

Didn't you already say that once? Anyways, good to know that there's people who don't like the Lakers around here.

Anyway, tough loss, even though you know how much I like seeing you lose. Your dynasty and my association are like night and day. And it's strange seeing the Lakers go down so easily too. What's with their almost .500 record?

Probably the real life Heat. :P I could understand why you like seeing me lose, you're the main sheriff of the realism police.

Kobe declining, Artest being a brick-shooter, and not relying on Bynum and Gasol is why they went down so easily. Their .500 record has to do with the retarded Live sim engine.

What's Lamar Odom doing then? (He's the only Laker I care about this year.)

As I told you before, Live10's substitution logic is really messed up, so at most Lamar Odom gets 10 minutes in one game. (N)

I don't remember you saying that, but even 10 minutes for a bench player in the simming of Live 2003 is quite lucky. :shake: Odom on the bench at all is a waste of talent.

I can't recall offhand, are you able to edit the jersey numbers for players on CPU controlled teams if you enable the "modify CPU rosters" option? Since you're ending this Dynasty with this season, you can afford to forfeit the Dynasty points you earn by enabling that option (assuming it works, of course).

If not, no big deal. Just one of those things one has to endure with NBA Live 10 (and no PC release).

That's Live 10. Substitution logic is fucked up, so there's always 2-3 players who play all game, leading to buffed up stats like that.

Reiterated.

I have it on, but I go to the "edit player" menu, and it still says "you can only edit user-controlled players." :( Now that I think about it though, number 25 is retired in LA (Gail Goodrich) and number 24 is retired in Oklahoma City (Spencer Haywood), or Seattle, to be correct. Like you said, one of the things we'll have to endure, but it's not like I play against both of those teams every game for it to really matter.

And also to consider the fact that 501stJointFighterWing was the only reader not to congratulate me on the 1000 reply milestone and instead worried about Kenyon Martin, no big deal.

Rockets Pwn [47-8]

Postby Axel The Great on Sat Nov 13, 2010 10:11 am

2-game Recap

[45-8] Houston Rockets 103-86 Dallas Mavericks [18-34]

Image
Kevin Martin completely pwned this game, and this pic is just a small sample of that.

This Mavericks team is in a tough situation, they have very many flaws and they were showcased in this game. One, starting JJ Barea at the point is a bad idea. Two, gone are the days when Jason Kidd could easily pick people's pockets. And three, Louis Amundson and Erick Dampier as your starting frontcourt will get you nowhere in the NBA, and the Mavs' being in the basement of the NBA will show you that. Not much can be said about the game, as the Mavs are just depending on outscoring their opponent to win games this season.

[46-8] Houston Rockets 97-88 New Orleans Hornets [23-32]

Image
The Scola seen in this game was the Scola that was seen at the FIBA World Championship.

This game was a huge surprise. Luis Scola, who led the FIBA World Championship in scoring last summer, completely showed up this game. He scored 18 points, going 5/9 from the field, and 8/8 from the free throw line. The negative is that he only managed one rebound, but that's easily explained as he hung around the perimeter on defense, not allowing Emeka Okafor to get close to the basket. The Rockets had a 19-point lead going into the fourth. Chris Paul's late game surge put the Rockets back on their heels, as the lead was chipped down to 10, but thanks to Scola's huge offensive night, he put the Hornets away for good.

"You have to stay aggressive. This is a team that has a great frontcourt, and to be able to explode like that is huge," said the Argentinian himself. "Scola's one of the most underrated players on our team. Us as a team make the mistake of underrating him in not giving him the ball or many chances to shoot," said Donte Greene.

18 points is a season high for Luis Scola, hopefully he can surpass that record or come close to it in the last 27 games of the season, and through the playoffs.

I get bored of the CPU jacking up shots on All-Star difficulty, and if I move to Superstar, I just get turnover after turnover because the CPU is able to read my mind. I'd much rather be bored than frustrated, so I play on All-Star, and put the settings to the CPU's advantage. :)

No, I can't get bored with the Rockets. In this next 3-game Recap, you will see games that were much closer than the last two.

Ariza Builds a Brick House [50-8]

Postby Axel The Great on Sun Nov 14, 2010 3:41 am

Thierry, unfortunately, he still is. (N)

3-game Recap

[47-8] Houston Rockets 91-78 Boston Celtics [22-34]

Image
When Kevin Martin drives to the rim, you better get out of the way unless you want to get posterized.

In this game, the Rockets saw why the Celtics are way under .500. Trevor Ariza. Brick-shooting Trevor Ariza. He gets the ball in his hands, spot up shot. He gets the ball with Yao Ming in front of him, spot up shot. He gets the ball..... you get the general idea. Ariza managed 10 points despite the abysmal brick shooting. "Ariza is a cancer patient. He's a cancer to us all, no matter how hard we try, the ball still ends up in his hands, and just takes ill-advised shots," said an angry Kevin Garnett after the game. Even though the Rockets won by 13 and Trevor Ariza's brick house building up, it was still an enjoyable game.

In the third quarter, the Celtics did their best to hold the Rockets down, and they did. 13 third quarter points by the Rockets is enough proof to show it, and they had the lead for a chunk of the third quarter. However, Ariza began to finish his brick house in the fourth quarter, and the Rockets shot lights out, and sneaked away with the win. "When you can turn Ariza into Ray Allen, you know you're one heck of a GM," said Ray Allen himself, feeling sorry for his former team.

Rajon Rondo has a jumpshot now. He scored 13, on mostly jumpshots.

[48-8] Houston Rockets 96-89 New Jersey Nets [27-32]

Image
Behind AB's clutch plays in the second half, the Rockets sneaked away with the win.

After watching a lot of brick shooting, the Rockets wished Ariza had left some bricks behind. The Nets shot over 50% for the first three quarters of the game. The Nets would gain a lead in the third quarter. However, thanks to Aaron Brooks, the Rockets poured in eight unanswered points, and Brooks had a career high 5 steals, ultimately becoming the performer of the game.

Up three, the Rockets needed a basket to seal the game with less than 30 seconds to go. Yao Ming delivered that bucket, banking in a mid-range jumpshot over the Nets' shortest (Nate Robinson, 5'9), and the Nets' tallest (Dan Williams, 7'6) players, putting the Rockets up by five, 94-89. Kevin Martin sealed the game, making two free throws.

[49-8] Houston Rockets 96-87 New York Knicks [28-28]

Outside of David Lee, the Knicks did a turrible job rebounding the ball.

One can say the Knicks choked in this one. They had the momentum, they had the tools, and they had old man Tracy McGrady, but they blew it. Tons of offensive rebounds for the Rockets cost them the game. The Rockets lead ballooned to 19 in the third quarter, but the Knicks chipped it down to 11 going into the fourth. In the fourth, the Knicks came within six, but then just started jacking up shots, and after not rebounding the ball, they were defeated by Houston.

"Teams get too excited when they are keeping up with us, they choke in the fourth quarter. That's probably why we assembled a 16-game win streak this season, and hopefully we can assemble a bigger win streak within the next few games," said Kyle Lowry. The Rockets clinched two things by winning this game, a 50-win or greater season, and the first playoff berth of the whole NBA.
