Nothin I can do about it, just pray that his knee doesn't hold up and you can move to being the starter :P Free agents not available to be traded until much deeper into the season

But i do agree, he looks terrible for the Spurs at the moment

Clippers make history with rapid coaching changes
November 15th, 2011

Image
The Los Angeles Clippers end up on the bad end of the history books
after events this week with regards to their coaching changes.

After dismissing head coach Simon Griffith on the 12th of November
due to a 0-8 start to the season and replacing him with Joshua Jamison,
the Clippers have decided this morning to fire Jamison, who's tenure as the
Clippers head coach lasted for a total of 3 days, in which they suffered another
2 straight losses.

Jamison's tenure as a head coach is the shortest in NBA history. This is also the
first time two coaching changes has occurred in the same week.

Deon Flowers is the replacement of the newly sacked Joshua Jamison, but if the
Clippers' losing streak (now at 10) continues, there might be a third change
very soon.

All is not well in Clipper land.

John Kuester dismissed as Pistons' coach
November 16th 2011

Image
After a 0-8 start to the 2011/12 NBA Season, the Detroit Pistons have announced
the firing of head coach John Kuester, ESPN reported earlier today.

Detroit wasn't expected to be successful in the win columns this season, but
nobody expected them to play this bad.

Kuester's replacement has been announced as former Bulls and Bucks head
coach Scott Skiles, who is known for his defensive focus. Skiles will be looked
upon to bring back the infamous Detroit "bad boys" blue collar basketball.

Skiles was fired by the Milwaukee Bucks late last season and was replaced by
Kurt Rambis, under Skiles the majority of last season, the Bucks finished
with a record of 23-59 and missed the playoffs.

Rose, Bulls agree on 6 year extension
November 17th 2011

Image
The Bulls have agreed to terms on a contract extension with Derrick Rose,
a team source confirmed. The deal is expected to be in the neighborhood
of $105 million over the next six years.

Rose would have been become a restricted free agent next summer had he
been unable to agree to an extension.

Since drafted with the number 1 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Derrick
Rose has rised to the occasion in the NBA. Winning rookie of the year and
leading the team to the postseason in his rookie season, where he tied Kareem
Abdul-Jabbar's rookie playoff debut record with 36 points, and led the Bulls to
a competitive and close 7 game series with the then defending world champions.

Rose will go on to make two consecutive all-star teams and was named on the
All-NBA 3rd Team in the 09/10 season.

With Rose leading the way, the Bulls are currently 5-2 for the season.

Wow, a lot of money, but I think it's a good investment. I have to experience how tough it is to get a good PG in my Sonics D. Definitely my team's biggest weakness.

CP3, Ben Gordon, Al Harrington, David West, Emeka Okafor

I believe they have Collison, Vujacic and Peja on the bench?

Hornets defeat Bulls, clinch best start in NBA history

Image

Chicago, IL - Derrick Rose may have won the statistical battle, but Chris Paul's Hornets made history.

Following a 100-91 victory in the United Center on Sunday Night, the New Orleans Hornets are now a perfect 16-0 and stand alone in the history books as the team with the All-Time record for the best start to the season.

Paul had an off-night, and finished with just 12 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists, but stepped up when it most mattered - scoring 6 of his 12 points in the fourth quarter and dished out 4 of his 11 assists in that same period, leading the Hornets to a 42-28 quarter to over take the Bulls' lead and ultimately winning the game.

CP3 had plenty of help on the offensive end in the form of Ben Gordon, Al Harrington and David West. Facing his old team, Gordon poured in 29 points on 10 for 23 shooting from the field and 3 for 7 from downtown, earning player of the game honors.

Harrington added 23 points and 7 boards while David West chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds.

"I didn't play too well, but these guys stepped up and we got the W" said Paul "That's all it matters"

The Bulls were led by Derrick Rose's 33 points and 9 assists. Joakim Noah also had a big performance with 12 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Bulls from dropping another close game.

Chicago has now lost 4 of their last 6, losing by margins of 4, 1, 2, and 9 points here tonight.

"We need to execute better down the stretch" Rose said following the game "We could've won a lot more games"

Carlos Boozer added in 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Kirk Hinrich had 10 points. However, most of the other Bulls struggled to get it going offensively. With Luol Deng perhaps having the worst game tonight with a 3 for 12 performance. He finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds.

"Guys have been struggling on offense a bit and I understand that" Bulls coach Byron Scott stated "But it's no excuse to give up a 42 point fourth quarter, that was what killed us"

The Bulls are now 8-6 and hold the 6th spot in the Eastern Conference while the Hornets will look to continue their historical streak tomorrow evening in Milwaukee against the Bucks - another central division powerhouse, who will have a great shot at halting the Hornets' streak as they are vulnerable on a back to back

I doubt the Hornets will be willing to part with him, especially since they are still undefeated

I know right? Somehow they just find a way to win in my games :?
It's not a bad start but I was hoping I could be better than just 8-6, could've been easily 10-4 or better if my team executed better down the stretch of games

Yao, Ariza powers Rockets past Blazers

Image

Portland, OR - Brandon Roy and his fellow Blazers played their hearts out in front of their home crowd, desperate for the upset against the 3rd seeded Rockets.

It just wasn't enough.

Behind a dominating performance of 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks from Houston's 7 foot 6 superstar center Yao Ming and Trevor Ariza's huge night offensively (23 points on 10 for 23 shooting), the Rockets put the Blazers below .500 for the season with a 111-102 victory at the Rose Garden.

The Rockets made use of a dominating first half and added upon it in the third quarter, by the time the Blazers could make any sort of runs Houston was already out of reach. The end score looked respectable, but that's only because Rick Aldeman was able to rest his starters in the second half of the final period.

"They came in here and kicked our (expletive) tonight" said Blazers guard Brandon Roy, who finished with a game high 40 points and added 6 assists in the losing effort "We can't allow this to happen if we want to make the playoffs"

The game also featured the duel of two rookie rivals, Will Sit of the Portland Trialblazers, and Martti Must of the Houston Rockets. Their rivalry dates all the way back to their time at UNC and Arizona respectively, with the most recent meeting being a heated NCAA championship game that Sit's Tar Heels, who also featured number one overall pick Harrison Barnes, took over Must's Wildcats.

Tonight's game was no less heated than the championship game, as Sit and Must went at each other from the second they met on the court. Aside from two spectular performances, in which Sit set a new career high with 26 points, along with 4 rebounds and 9 assists, and Martti providing 18 points and 9 rebounds off the bench for his squad; there was also a number of heated exchanges between the two rookies. Including but not limited to trash talking the whole way through, and even shoving and threats towards each other.

Double technicals were handed out in the third quarter when Sit scored a tough layup over two Rockets, one of them being Must, and taunted at him. The two tangled up and had to be seperated by teammates and officals.

"We don't like each other, enough said" Sit stated after the game "He only won cause of Yao Ming and the other Rockets, he's (expletive)"

Must, on the other hand, refused to comment upon it and was clearly having an emotional breakdown despite his team's victory.

"Don't worry, he's like this all the time" said teammate Antawn Jamison "Guess it's a European thing or something"

The Rockets now improve to a 14-4 record, good enough for 3rd in the Western Conference while the Blazers fall to 8-9 and are tied with the Golden State Warriors for the 8th spot in the West, they are just 3-7 at home thus far.
