Just a tip - don't try that NCAA mod thing you tried with 2K10. I doubt it'd be a good idea.

You had that in like 5 stories last year, but you never featured it. But if you feel you can this time, go ahead.

Ah, good then
I think it's getting monotonous with recaps one after another, so I want to spice this up a little.

Spurs game at OKC takes Anderson home
nba.com/spurs/beat | November 13th, 2010
SAN ANTONIO -- James Anderson's mobile phone has been ringing this week like crazy. The calls came mostly from family members and friends, as they are preparing for a homecoming tomorrow when Anderson, the Spurs' rookie swingman, returns to play at Oklahoma for the first time since leaving Oklahoma State University after his junior season to enter the 2010 NBA Draft. Anderson's junior year saw him become the top performer in the Big 12 Conference, as he paced the conference in scoring, averaging over 24 points per game in conference play. He led the Cowboys to a 9–7 league record, and at the conclusion of the Big 12 regular season, he was named Big 12 Player of the Year. The Sporting News also named him a First Team All-American. “I'm excited. It's always good to go back home, especially with so many friends and family getting an opportunity to see me play,” Anderson said. The Spurs will play against Andre Iguodala and the Philadelphia 76ers at the AT&T center tonight, before flying tomorrow morning to Oklahoma City to face an undefeated Thunder team, which leads the Western Conference with a 8-0 record. “I've heard from so many family members and friends that I really can't say how many will show up,” Anderson added.
Anderson's business manager said he expects more than 100 family and friends to attend, including their parents. “I know this is a game that James can't wait to play because he's going back home,” Spurs owner Thierry Tirieux said. Coach Gregg Popovich is hoping the rest of his players will be as eager as Anderson to give a good showing. Throughout this small stretch of the season, they mostly have struggled to control the ball, as they are one of the worst teams in the league in turnovers per game (15.1; New York leads with 18.1). Popovich said “the players need to flip the switch and be ready for a really tough game against Kevin Durant and the Thunder.” Against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, the Spurs (5-2) trailed by 19 points in the third quarter before posting two 11-0 runs and end up winning 106-99. Anderson will return tonight to face the 76ers, after being on the sidelines for 2 weeks, recovering from a lower back strain he suffered in the Spurs season opener -- a 111-97 triumph over the Indiana Pacers on October 27.

Big 3 works flawlessly, Spurs defeat Sixers for 3rd straight win
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (PHI :: SAS)SAN ANTONIO, November 13 -- Manu Ginobili and coach Gregg Popovich did not have anything to complain about Saturday. Ginobili scored 12 points in each half to finish with a season-high 24 as the San Antonio Spurs posted a 51-37 second half and rolled to a 101-83 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Exactly a week ago against Houston, the Spurs suffered a Yao Ming who was unstoppable, with 27 points and 15 rebounds, and lost 104-92, its second double-digit loss in a row, but the immediate future can't look any brighter for San Antonio. Corey Maggette started the scoring with a jumper but then Philly had no mistakes and were leading 20-12, but made 3 turnovers in a row and Tony Parker scored a 3-pointer and a lay-up to begin a 12-2 run, and close the first period 29-26 for Popovich's squad. The Spurs never trailed thereafter and finished the first half with a 4-point advantage into the break. “We got off to a slow start offensively, but defensively we were more than acceptable,” said Parker, who finished with his first double-double of the year with 14 points and 15 assists for the Spurs.
Tim Duncan didn't get a break all night, as he earned yet another Player of the Game honors, this time with no controversy: 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks. Maggette had 11 points, and Tiago Splitter added a game-best 13 rebounds. “I kind of kept us in the game there in the first half. When jump shots aren't going in, we've got to have a team effort, go out there and rebound, and we did that,” Duncan said -- the Spurs had a 3:30 stretch in the second period where they couldn't score. Elton Brand kept Philadelphia close in the first half, as he scored 18 of his game-high 26 points there; but Ginobili's 3-pointer gave San Antonio a considerable 12-point advantage, 64-52, midway through the third. Parker's jumper with 5:22 left in the game created the largest lead, 20 points, at 92-72.
Offseason additions Evan Turner, 2nd overall in the draft, and Spencer Hawes, acquired from the Sacramento Kings, scored 14 points each, as Andre Iguodala, fighting a strained MCL, was held to a season-low 5 points, 1-of-9 from the field. “You all can give us credit for playing well, but Andre might be injured,” said Maggette, who guarded Iguodala, but the Sixers swingman said he was fine and credited the Spurs defence; “I thought they did a good job of defending me, I had some open looks I couldn't advantage of.” Thaddeus Young came off the bench to give Philadelphia some hope down the stretch, scoring all of his 6 points in the final quarter, but was not enough. Sixers guard Jrue Holiday scored his 9 points in the second half, when the game was out of hand. “We're just not a very good basketball team right now, we didn't come out with a lot of energy, we weren't getting into sets,” Holiday said. “We didn't want to get into a bad situation and take random shots, but that's what happened. We must look forward to our next game.” The Sixers shot 38 percent (37-of-96) while San Antonio posted its second straight game shooting over 50 percent from the field.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Weekly Rewind N° 3 • South Beach Thrice, Diaw, injuries, rumors and more...
nba.com/spurs/morningcoffee | November 14th, 2010

SAN ANTONIO -- Welcome to the latest installment of my “Morning Coffee” blog, Spurs fanatics. I have some more tidbits here in the table for us to discuss. I'm doing a weekly report with things that happened around the league, including: in my opinion, the most interesting game of the week; signings & waivings; POTW honors; injury report and trading rumors. Hope you join the discussion!
• Miami rout Toronto for 10-0 record • Those “Fire Triano!” chants followed Jay Triano all the way from Canada to South Beach... so did 48 minutes of wretched basketball. Even the excuses -- this time Triano blaming the absence of rebounder Reggie Evans, strained MCL -- came with the Raptors' latest humiliation. “We've had our good moments and we've had our bad moments,” Triano said. Few as bad as this game. Despite leading the league with a 10-0 record, the Miami Heat rarely have had a win so easy, entering the fourth quarter with a 25-point lead and then crushing the Toronto Raptors with a 31-9 last period for a 119-72 win on November 13 -- a 47-point win. Toronto had turnovers on almost every possession in some stretches, took ugly shots and trailed by 50 points with 2:33 left in the game. “We've got to keep working,” Triano added. “All we can do is keep working.”
• Charlotte's Diaw to test free agency • Boris Diaw will test the free-agent market this summer. Diaw said hours ago that he will not exercise his player option for the 2011-12 season, but he added that he hopes to return to the Charlotte Bobcats. “As for me and my contract situation, I’m going to opt out,” Diaw told reporters gathered at Time Warner Cable Arena press conference room this morning. “It’s about me and my family and what’s best for us. I’ve loved my time here and would love to return, but I think I know more than anybody that this is a business. The organization has to do what’s best for the team. Hopefully, I impressed them enough to bring me back and give me something decent, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.” For Diaw, the decision to opt out was hard; according to one website, he would have made $9 million next season, but he understandably would prefer to have some long-term security in the form of a multi-year deal with the rumors of a lockout coming.
• Players of the Week • The Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade and the Utah Jazz's Deron Williams today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played November 7-13. Wade led Miami to a 3-0 week, as he averaged 34.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. It's the second POTW award for Wade this year. Utah posted a 0-4 week, but Williams' effort can't be ignored, as he had averages of 31.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.7 assists, including a 42-point, 6-rebound, 12-assist statline in a loss to Orlando.
• Injury report • Sorted by injuries with most duration, here you can check the full injury report. Minnesota still suffers the loss of Corey Brewer with a broken ankle; for worst, offseason addition Michael Beasley had a broken jaw and will miss a month of action as well; the Timberwolves are a West-worst 2-8. The Los Angeles Lakers, with a surprising 5-4 record, will have to play without Derek Fisher (broken arm) and Theo Ratliff (broken finger), while New York's Kelenna Azubuike (broken finger) and Indiana's Brandon Rush (severe ankle sprain) also must spend time on the sidelines. Miami will miss Udonis Haslem with a broken back for at least 15 days, but considering the Heat's depth, won't be much of a problem for Erik Spoelstra.
• First official trade of the season on the books • Putting an end to the trade rumors, the Sacramento Kings sent Carl Landry, Luther Head and a 2nd round pick to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Rodney Stuckey and DaJuan Summers. With Jonas Jerebko still on sidelines for at least one more month, the Pistons needed a power forward to stay in competition. With coach John Kuester decision's to bench Stuckey and start Will Bynum, Stuckey didn't have a problem to be dealt and start in Sac-Town's backcourt along reigning Rookie of the Year, Tyreke Evans. Detroit sits 7th in the East, with a 4-5 record, while Sacramento has a 5-3 record, good enough for 5th in the West.
• Trade rumors • In other news, a new-and-improved Josh -- a Josh Childress who is running and jumping and shooting at a level that has his team drooling and fans ecstatic to see exactly how good he can become. Some reports claim the Suns are putting Childress in the trading block to see what they can obtain in return despite just acquiring him a couple of months ago. There is a buzz in the Suns' coaching staff surrounding Childress' play this season that had never existed; he is having the best season of his career. And there are indications that this new, refocused Childress plans to stay that way throughout the regular season. “This year is the most I've ever been focused in the league,” Childress said. That mind-set was helped in part by his new coach, Alvin Gentry. “He really surprised me. He actually shocked me with how hard he worked and his effort on the court,” Gentry said. “Normally the pro guys, they work hard but they go about it at their pace and not at my pace. The workout is very, very difficult. It's about 45 minutes long. And he worked as hard as any of my guys, and probably harder. It was very refreshing to see how much he got after it. I must admit I'm not happy with the idea of trading him, but that's the job of the manager.” Childress is averaging 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists thru eight games, the Suns are 4-4.

Draft Prospects • NCAA giving away invitations...
nba.com/spurs/morningcoffee | November 14th, 2010

SAN ANTONIO -- Welcome to the my opening post of my “Draft Prospects” section. I have some more prospects here that the team's scout gave me that I'll leave for the next update.. I've also heard reports that the NCAA is giving away invitations to be part on the Division 1. Don't hesitate. There will be 12 NLSCers each year.
• NCAA: Men's Division I Basketball • The NCAA administers 23 different sports. Its national office enforce each sport's rules and regulations, which are created by NCAA members. The NCAA also conducts the championship competitions for these sports. Overall, there are 88 championships throughout the 23 sports. Each championship is run by a committee of coaches and administrators. These people come from NCAA member schools, and they are experts in their sports. The quality of college sports isn't just based on championship competition or the NCAA's administration. It's what you get out of the experience -- and what the experience brings out of you. Teamwork. Discipline. Focus. For the student-athlete, it's a chance to make your college experience well-rounded. It's a way to develop the strengths that athletics competition creates... and to form the personal bonds that last a lifetime. You can choose:

Westbrook flies past San Antonio defense, Thunder send Spurs packing
Preview | Recap | Game Info | Full Play-by-Play | Boxscores (SAS :: OKC)OKLAHOMA CITY, November 14 -- A high flying effort by the Oklahoma City Thunder denied the San Antonio Spurs an elusive 4th straight win as Russell Westbrook led five players in double figures with 23 points and dished out a season-high 15 assists; the Thunder posted their ninth straight win with a 108-85 rout of the Spurs, who failed to stretch their own winning run to four. Entering with the best record in the West at 8-0, the Thunder used a 16-2 run at the end of the second quarter to distance themselves from San Antonio, who had tied the game at 24-24 on Larry Hughes' jumper with 9:12 remaining. Jeff Green and Kevin Durant scored 21 and 20 points respectively, James Harden had 16, and Serge Ibaka added 10 and 6 rebounds for the Thunder despite suffering an injury in the first period. Durant collected 18 of his 20 points in the second half.
“Everybody shared the ball and took good shots,” Westbrook said. “We were able to do that tonight and that's why we won. We have a great record, but we can't sleep in the laurels.” Oklahoma City held the edge in nearly every category, outrebounding the Spurs (50-40; 16-3 offensive), a edge in fast-break points (12-2), points in the paint (60-42), and even in blocks (11-5). Only the Spurs bench had an advantage (40-28), led by Hughes, Gary Neal and George Hill, all with 9 points each. The Thunder also suffocated the Spurs on the defensive end, forcing 16 turnovers by San Antonio and holding the Spurs for only 1 player in double figures -- Tim Duncan, who had 17 points and 13 rebounds. “We blew a golden opportunity to get close to them in the standings,” Duncan said. “Give them the credit, they played well tonight and we helped them by committing a lot of turnovers. Games like this, there is no excuse. We didn't do a good job taking care of the ball, and it's been an Achilles heel for us. It was a massacre.”
Tony Parker scored 8 points and 12 assists and Tiago Splitter added 7 for the Spurs, which trailed by as many as 27 points in mid fourth quarter. “Every facet of the game we were beaten in tonight. It was disappointing. In my opinion, it was definitely the worst effort we have given all season,” Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. “That was the difference. They played from beginning to end on high tempo, and the result was a great win for them.” Manu Ginobili and Corey Maggette posted a combined 14 points, 6-of-26 from the field, including 0-of-9 from 3-point territory. “Russell and Kevin played awesome, no mistakes,” Ginobili said. “Russell was just unbelievable. It felt like every shot he put up there went in or he made the right decision. Me, I played horrible, honestly. I couldn't find my shot all night,” he added, visibly angry. Westbrook shot 9-of-12 from the field and even had 3 steals and a block to boot.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
