T-Wolves star suffers major injury

Minnesota forward Kevin Love is set to miss 2-3 months of the season after tearing his Achilles Tendon in the T-Wolves' loss against Orlando.
The injury seemed to happen after he landed on Dwight Howard's foot after a dunk during the fourth quarter.
Love's injury comes just 2 weeks after Denver star Carmelo Anthony suffered the exact same injury in a game against New Orleans.

Awesome start for OKC this year. Like KD dunk

Huge game from Green, shame about the loss. Pretty impressive comeback by the Bucks, that's Superstar difficulty for you.

So close to a triple double there. Nice to see Maynor score 10 off the bench as well.

Good luck with this one man... Your young Thunder was good! Joakim Noah got 24 rebounds, it's unbelievable

12 road games? Damn!

Good start so far. Liking the full boxscores, great way to show off the retarded substitution logic in Live 10.

You're actually doing pretty well on Superstar. That difficulty is frustrating as hell.

The straight road games also shows that the schedule generator still needs work too.

The lack of rotation is strange. Maybe I should turn the fatigue up or something?
I agree. Superstar is frustrating. If I bring my bench on for a few minutes I lost 10 points out of my lead.

Yeah, it's a bit of a mess. I chose random schedules because I had lots of back-to-back games against teams on my last save.

More changes for Thunder

Oklahoma City have today completed another trade aimed at setting themselves up for a big off-season.
They sent Eric Maynor, Nick Collison and DJ White to the Lakers in exchange for Shannon Brown, Sasha Vujacic and Patrick O'Bryant.
Relying on veterans and youngsters for a season is a short term risk taken to ensure they have a healthy wage cap surplus at seasons end.
Especially with big men like Yao Ming, Marc Gasol, Al Horford, Tyson Chandler, Kendrick Perkins, Greg Oden and Joakim Noah all on expiring contracts.
The Thunder have already traded guard Thabo Sefolosha to Cleveland for the expiring contract of Jamario Moon.
Oklahoma City
Eric Maynor - 22 years old - PG - 4.45m - 3 years (77)
Nick Collison - 29 years old - C - 6.75m - 1 year (68)
DJ White - 23 years old - PF - 3.11m - 2 years (71)
Los Angeles
Shannon Brown - 23 years old - SG - 4.60m - 2 years (73)
Sasha Vujacic - 25 years old - SG - 5.48m - 1 year (62)
Patrick O'Bryant - 23 years old - C - 854k - 1 year (63)
--------------------
Depth
C - Dampier, Krstic, Mullens
PF - Green, Ibaka
SF - Durant, Moon
SG - Harden, Brown, Vujacic
PG - Westbrook, Cook
Inactive
O'Bryant, Aldrich.
Red = expiring contract
--------------------
I know trading for expiring contracts is a risky strategy, but I'm comfortable with my roster.
Let's just hope that the players I'm targeting don't re-sign with their teams during the off-season.
Losing Maynor is tough, but gaining Brown makes up for it.

Nice job overcoming Dirk's big night. The boxscore shows off another annoying bug in NBA Live 10 though, players being able to return after fouling out. Oddly NBA 2K11 has the same problem, you wouldn't think something like that would be an issue at this stage for either game. As for the trade I like the approach having done something similar in my Bulls Dynasty; you've got the talent to contend now while setting yourself up for the possibility of a big move in the offseason.

I didn't even notice that Dirk had 7 fouls.

Happens a fair bit, unfortunately. A shame they didn't patch it when they released the updates.
Anyway, impressive debut for Brown. He's already looking like a better fit than Maynor.

Tough loss, though once again you've done a fine job forcing the opposing starting point guard into a lot of turnovers. Another near-triple double for Green too, I see.
Thu Nov 04, 2010 10:26 pm
It's like Marv says in his in game commentary, "Green isn't great at anything, but he's pretty good at most things."
Also, I changed the fatigue settings from 50% to 75% to try and make the CPU make more rotations.

More bad news for Nuggets

Denver have suffered another injury blow as guard JR Smith hyper-extended his knee in their win in Boston.
Smith joins Carmelo Anthony on the injury list at Denver. Both are not expected to return for at least a month.
Youngsters Arron Afflalo and Ty Lawson will have to step up to keep Denver's playoff hopes alive.

nice OT win

surprised Hickson wasn't more a factor for them... Nuggets are hurtin' bad
