It's not the free throw line, but it's fairly close for outside of a dunk contest. So you know what, by all means leave it in five-on-five gameplay. Just don't make it too easy to perform, ie without any kind of a run-up and with too many defenders in the way and it's all good.

you know back in my younger and crazier days, i was at the park one night in pittsburgh and this bunch of guys showed up and wanted to play a game of 33 i thought oh why not, so i am guarding the shortest point guard type of the group maybe 6' 4, 6' 5 he gives me the wickedest crossover i ever seen goes hard for the center leaving me totally wrong footed takes off one step inside the free throw line and dunks it.

turn out these guys were all diaper dandys in town for some turnament, not your average park rats lol. needless to say it was late about 1 am i was exhausted and it was time to go i was totally out of my league.
