Good luck with this, Pacers are an interesting team this year. Looking to make any moves for a PF?

Intriguing team choice. Good luck sticking with it though. Pacers have a decent dynasty hook, but are just a total bummer.

Good team choice. (Y) I'll be following, as long as Collison becomes an All-Star.

I had no idea there was this much love for Collison around here, but hey, I'll try my best to get him a spot on the West.

Thanks guys. (Y) My main reason for choosing them was because they have quite a few expiring contracts, along with a solid core in Granger, Collison, and Hibbert to build around.

I was pretty interested in getting Yi this season because I like his game, he's affordable, and would probably be easy to trade for, but then I realized he's an upcoming free agent. That changed my whole plan, so this season will probably be about relieving some cap room (not exactly just for him), while still keeping some young talent on the roster. And aside from possibly getting Yi, there's two upcoming free agents I would really like to acquire, but I won't spoil anything with names yet.

Pacers Acquire Darren Collison & James Posey In Five-Player, Four-Team Deal
• Wednesday August 11, 2010: Indianapolis, IN

INDIANA (AP) -- Today, the Indiana Pacers were involved in one of this offseason's most dynamic, multiple-team trades. The other participants in this deal included the New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets, and New Jersey Nets. The Pacers, being the only team to receive two players in the trade, will net young point guard Darren Collison and veteran forward James Posey from the Hornets. Indiana will ship versatile power forward Troy Murphy to the Nets, who will send three-point specialist Courtney Lee to Houston. Lastly, New Orleans will bring in defensive-minded swingman Trevor Ariza from the Rockets.

If you didn't quite catch all of that, this is how the deal breaks down for each team involved:

Indiana Pacers Receive: Darren Collison (80) & James Posey (70) - From New Orleans
New Orleans Hornets Receive: Trevor Ariza (79) - From Houston
New Jersey Nets Receive: Troy Murphy (72) - From Indiana
Houston Rockets Receive: Courtney Lee (68) - From New Jersey

Thanks for checking in guys. (Y) About McRoberts, I know he's an explosive player and could probably help the team in a lot of ways, but his rating (55) drew me away from giving him any playing time. The only scenario I see him getting a lot of minutes in is if Hansbrough goes down with an injury, and then in that case I'll probably start him.

With Plenty Of New Faces To Mesh, Indiana Looks To Turn Around Basketball Franchise
• Friday October 8, 2010: Indianapolis, IN

Indiana (AP) -- Since the days of Reggie Miller, the city of Indiana hasn't seen much glory relating to their professional hoops team. The Pacers have seen good days, and then bad, but nothing great. A few playoff appearances, Danny Granger, and the word "rebuilding" pretty much summarize the past few years for this organization. The squad finished last season with a poor record of 32-50. They claimed the tenth spot in the Eastern Conference standings, and placed second last in the Central Division. Winning just nine games on the road, they relied solely on their home crowd to finish with a decent amount of wins. All-Star Danny Granger played a career-low 62 games due to injury, leading to another under par season for the team. This upcoming season season should be slightly different for Indiana, as they've finally picked up the one thing they needed most: a solid point guard. Darren Collison played great for the New Orleans Hornets last season, which was his first year in the league. He had an over-achieving stat line, consisting of 12.4 PPG (.477 FG%; .400 3PT%), 5.7 APG, and .851 FT% while he filled the shoes of the injured Chris Paul. Center Roy Hibbert is developing and gaining valuable experience with each season he plays, while youngsters Paul George, Tyler Hansbrough, Brandon Rush, and Josh McRoberts give the team a huge upside. Veterans Dahntay Jones, T.J. Ford, James Posey, Jeff Foster, and Mike Dunleavy will surely teach them well. And then of course there's Danny Granger. The Pacers will open their season in exactly one month from now in Philadelphia, where they'll take on Andre Iguodala, Evan Turner, and the 76ers. For the time being, it'll be a lot of practice and getting familiar with each other for coach Jim O'Brien's team.

Granger's Off Night & Pacer's Dismal Finish Add Up To Season-Opening Loss
• Friday November 12, 2010: Wachovia Center - Philadelphia, PA

Image

INDIANA (AP) -- It was a battle of two teams on the rise in the East, but not on top of their conference by any means, as the Philadelphia 76ers dismantled the Indiana Pacers in front of their home crowd. Indiana was able to stick around in the first half, but their sloppy second half play is what put them out of reach of being victorious. In Evan Turner's second NBA game, he looked as if he could be a Brandon Roy type of player for the rest of his career. He finished the night with 23 points (10-22 FG; 2-6 3PT), and 4 rebounds. Danny Granger and Andre Iguodala were matched up against each other for the first time since their stint together with Team USA in Turkey. Iggy was dominant, scoring 22 points on 8-14 shooting, with some sweet dunks in the mix. Other standouts of the 76ers' cast included Lou Williams, who had 10 points, 5 assists, and 6 steals. Spencer Hawes also contributed 8 points and grabbed a monster 16 rebounds. As for the Pacers, you can check out how each of their players did below. Next on their calendar, they'll be returning home to play the 1-3 Atlanta Hawks. That marks their first match of a three-game home stand.

takes it strong to the hole and slams it over 7-2 center Roy Hibbert.

Tough loss. Hibbert had a huge game (7 blocks!) but sadly you're the Pacers.

I like your recapping style. Clean and concise.

Gotta agree with Lamrock, recap style is excellent. (Y) A tough loss there, even though Hibbert was great defensively and offensively.

Tough loss man, but Hibbert's development seems to have worked. 19-11-7, that's solid.

Thanks for the feedback everyone; it's good to see a lot more followers this time around. (Y) Something I didn't notice about Hibbert is that he's got a really nice midrange jump shot he can knock down with some regularity (or maybe I was just getting lucky). Either way, it adds some versatility to his game. The blocks came naturally, but I had no idea he finished the game with seven. I thought he might've had three. Anyway, I'll have the next recap (a home game versus the Hawks) posted sometime tomorrow.
