Ok, got your forms. Badreligion, you are on the waiting list for the 2012 draft, but if/when I get there, I would be stunned if one of the ten people in front of you aren't inactive.

On another note, are there any decent draft classes out yet?

DIARY OF LIAM WASHBURN

October 10, 2010
It's finally happened! Years of hard work have finally paid off and now I am officially an NBA GM. At age 27, I am the youngest GM ever. I have my work cut out for me though. The Raptors are a terrible team, and have a multitude of bad contracts. Our coach blows, we're the only team in Canada, and few players want to play here. Pretty psyched though. Unfortunately, 'Saur Losers isn't.

Liam Washburn to Replace Colangelo As Raptors GM
By Ken Chalmers.

October 10, 2010 - People ask me, "Ken, why do you hate the Raptors so much?" As a Toronto citizen and the Raptors Talk gig being the only one available, the Raptors are my team of choice by default. Doesn't stop me from booing them 41 times a year. Today's "resignation" of Bryan Colangelo and hiring of 27 year old WNBA executive Liam Washburn epitomizes why.

Washburn served as general manager from the Houston Comets from 2006 up until they folded in 2008. After letting that franchise die, he served as an assistant GM to Rick Sund for the Atlanta Hawks. He reportedly spearheaded the Joe Johnson contract negotiations. Yeah... People are heralding this move as a genius one, comparing Washburn to Sam Presti. However, Washburn, like the Raptors franchise, is a total joke.

Image
Bryan Colangelo is out. Liam Washburn is in.

To be fair, Colangelo wasn't exactly doing the best job. Under him, the Craps only enjoyed one winning season, and has built a team that looks to be the worst in the conference, if not the league. However, I would trust him, a 2-time Executive of the Year, to rebuild this team more than an under-qualified 27 year old who's only failed at everything he's done. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go and buy a rope.

U mad?

In the coming days, I'll be watching pre-season games, and pondering which free agents to sign (I think Salim Stoudamire would be a good fit off the bench...). Also not looking forward to giving the contracts a second look.

It "allegedly". Not proven. And they were not WNBA players, they were players trying out for a spot in the team. Sadly, they didn't make the cut as they look more like cheerleaders than have actual basketball skill.

If this whole GM thing doesn't work out, perhaps I'll have something to fall back on...

October 18, 2010
After a week of heavy partying, its time to get to work. Looks like I'll have it cut out for me, as this roster is fucking terrible. I'd almost rather have the Pistons or Wolves. Almost. Right now, this appears to be the opening roster:

C | Andrea Bargnani | 7'0", 250 lbs | Italy | Age 25 (C)
F | Amir Johnson | 6'11, 210 lbs (lol) | Westchester HS | Age 23
F | Linas Kleiza | 6'8", 245 lbs | Lithuania | Age 25
G | DeMar DeRozan | 6'7", 220 lbs | Southern California | Age 20
G | Jarrett Jack | 6'3, 197 lbs | Georgia Tech | Age 27 (C)

6 | Leandro Barbosa | 6'3", 202 lbs | Brazil | Age 27
7 | Jose Calderon | 6'3", 210 lbs | Spain | Age 29
8 | Sonny Weems | 6'6", 205 lbs | Arkansas | Age 24
9 | Reggie Evans | 6'8", 245 lbs | Iowa | Age 30
10 | Ed Davis | 6'10", 225 lbs | North Carolina | Age 21 (R)
11 | Julian Wright | 6'8", 225 lbs | Kansas | Age 23
12 | David Andersen | 6'11, 245 lbs | Australia | Age 30

IR1 | Ronald Dupree | 6'7", 210 lbs | LSU | Age 29
IR2 | Marcus Banks | 6'2", 220 lbs | UNLV | Age 28
IR3 | Joey Dorsey | 6'8", 268 lbs | Memphis | Age 26

Pretty bad. Before I make any moves, I'll give them a couple months to gel and hopefully pad their trade value. Maybe there's even a couple diamonds in the rough! (I think that DeRozan kid's a rich man's James White in the making!) May need to cut Dorsey so I can get my man Salim Stoudamire on this team...

Assuming Barbosa's smart and accepts his player option, and I keep DeMar, I should have about 10 mil of cap to work with next summer, CBA pending, but for the purposes of every backup PG in the league not dropping 20+ on us, I'd like to dump Calderon. Also would like to clear room in the backcourt for Kyrie Irving...

Psyched for our opener against the Knicks. I bet Julian $100 that New York would win. Guess he's banking on his towel waving to put the Craps over the top... Anyway, that's all for today. Only 4 stages left to go on the final level of Bloons Tower Defense 4!

Don't cut Dorsey! He's the only Raptors big who understands help defense and boxing out. Cut Banks if anyone (I'd suggest Dupree, but you're evidently kind of in love with him).

Looking pretty sexy on that book cover there.

This has been up for two days and it's almost already reached the second page; I'm lagging behind already. Best of luck with this, I'm sure it'll be entertaining as all hell like your previous ones. It'd be nice to see myself in the league as well ;)
