The job application drought continues -- month #6 now.

I applied as a programmer trainee in a well-known firm and passed the written exam and first interview last Saturday. I was contacted yesterday to come over the following day to take another exam and if things go well -- the final interview.
So what happened was, the second exam is the same exam as the first one -- the only difference is the second one is done on a website. So I answered the second exam with mostly the same ones I answered on the first exam, and the personnel told me that I failed the second exam and probably my application for the post seems doomed now.
What I don't understand is, why take the same exam twice, and why is it the computerized exam seems to weigh even more than the written exam even if the questions are identical.
