IRL, K-Mart doesn't play any defense, but in this dynasty, Shane Battier's hard nosed defense has rubbed off on him.

that's why i like/respect 'virtual' K-Mart much more ;)

If K-Mart sticks around with the Rockets long IRL, Shane Battier will definitely be able to teach him a thing or two about defense.

15-0, eh? Try 66-0 (58-game seasons and best-of-3 playoffs sweep. No sims, default sliders).

One more story, then it's a 2-game Recap on Saturday, probably with another trade or two. :)

Greene Finds 2K11!!!!!!

Willie Lewis got in his car, as his client Rodrigue Beaubois had previously told him he knew who had shot Donte Greene. Beaubois was coincidentally in Houston that day, and both had agreed to meet at Starbucks. After a half hour of driving, Lewis finally arrived at Starbucks. He saw Roddy's dark blue Mercedez Benz, and knew he was already waiting for him.

Lewis entered, looked around, and found Beaubois sitting in a table-for-two by himself. "What's up Roddy," Lewis greeted him. "Please tell me it wasn't you, please," Lewis pleaded him. "Ah, this cappuccino is just great, I strongly recommend you try it Willie," Roddy told him, ignoring the grim look on Lewis' face. "Dammit, Roddy, pay attention. Was it you who shot Donte Greene?" Lewis asked again.

"Chill out, man, it wasn't me," laughed Beaubois. "Oh, whew. From the way you talked to me on the phone, it made me think you were confessing," Lewis sighed in relief. "Then who was it?" Lewis asked again.

"A friend of mine, I haven't known him a long time though. He said something about having an ex, and something about her owing him money, don't know what that was about, but he's long disappeared, haven't seen him since before his crime." Roddy told Lewis. "Why don't you report him?" asked Lewis. "There's no proof, and besides, he'll come after me if I do; I'm the only one he's told." Roddy said.

"Well Greene was a former client of mine. I'm worried the shooter may strike again. What was his name?" asked Lewis. "He is well-known, you'll be shocked once you find out who it was,"....

Meanwhile, at the Rockets' practice, Donte Greene's phone rang. "Hello," Greene answered. "Hey," Greene smiled, it was his girlfriend. She was asking him for help with her PC. "Be right there," he told her, she sounded a little too scared for something as little as a computer problem. He pondered at the way she had talked, and left the gym.

He drove to her house, it was just 20 minutes away from the gym. When he arrived he muttered to himself, "Oh no." The front door was knocked off its hinges, and a lot of things were scattered on the floor; as if there had been a struggle. Greene's phone rang again. "Who's this?" asked Greene. All he heard, was the sound of cruel laughter, and the scream of a woman in the background. "Who the hell is this?" Greene yelled with a frightened tone in his voice. The caller hung up, and Greene, dazed, bolted to the door to inform authorities. He stepped on something.

It was a picture of him sitting next to his girlfriend. But on the picture, the kidnapper had shot a bullet through Greene's chest. He picked it up, then noticed something next to it, his copy of NBA 2K11. Wondering how it got there, "What the hell's this sick world comin' to?" he asked himself.

Meanwhile, in the Rockets practice gym, Adelman had his players playing a scrimmage. Kyle Lowry drew a charging foul from a stampeding Brad Halstead. Both men were knocked to the floor. Halstead, frustrated at the call, got to his feet, looked down at Lowry, and was about to walk back to play defense, when he noticed the serious look in Shane Battier's face.

Halstead, intimidated, turned around, offered Lowry a hand, and helped him to his feet. Batter gave him a nod and a thumbs up, and both players walked back down the court to play defense...

Please excuse the title of the story; I couldn't find a creative title for it, so I just went with the random.

I'd suggest PSMILE was a spambot. I've deleted that account and the post.

Good to see Halstead coming around. As for the Greene situation, seems I may be wrong but I'll wait and see what the reveal is.

Umm... If you'd been reading the past few stories, you'd know that the criminal is NOT LeBron James. If you're gonna hate on him, hate him somewhere else, but not in my dynasty thread. K thx. :)

Anyways, I was thinking of maybe turning this into some sort of contest in guessing the criminal, but seeing as I don't have any prizes to offer, I can't do it. :(

2-Game Recap

[29-6] Houston Rockets 91-99 Los Angeles Clippers [23-16]

Image
After a back-door pass from Kaman, Eric Gordon finishes with a slam, crushing the Rockets' hopes of winning the game.

After a disappointing loss to Philadelphia at home, the Rockets headed to Los Angeles to turn their luck around. They failed, miserably. After a good first quarter start, the Rockets were starting to lose their grip on this game with every minute passing by. You don't hear this often, but our defense had an off-night. The Clippers shot 53% from the field for the game, while the Rockets shot a mediocre 43%. If you think that's bad, Baron Davis dropped another 39 points, while rookie sensation Amory Miller had 10 assists.

The Rockets were up by 1 at halftime. The Clippers regained the lead in the third, after a slow shooting start for the Rockets. The Rockets would not regain the lead. Trailing by 9, Kevin Martin hit a 3-pointer (he was 3/6 on the night) to cut the deficit to 6, and with three minutes left, the Rockets were indeed alive. However, Eric Gordon received a back-door pass from Chris Kaman, and got an easy baseline dunk, and that sealed the game as the Rockets have accumulated their second losing streak of the season.

Rookie Watch: Gregory Costa had a sub-par game. However, Brad Halstead had a solid statline of 8 points, 2 assists and a block. Though his stats don't show it, he contested shots like crazy, and gave Travis Outlaw and Drew Gooden a bunch of problems, as he was put in at PF.

Charles Barkley's analysis: "I think Amory Miller could be a white Michael Jordan, that's not a turrible prediction."

[29-7] Houston Rockets 111-96 Indiana Pacers [24-13]

Image
Ray Allen is showing signs of decline, he scored 10 points, but took too many shots to get there.

Though the score 111-96 doesn't exactly describe much massacre, but for the Big 3, it was. The Big 3 combined for 73 points (Kevin Martin with 30, Aaron Brooks with 23, and Yao with 20), while Shane Battier was able to chip in with 11. The game itself though wasn't easy. The Rockets started very slow, but went on an 11-0 run late in the first quarter, and were up by 8 going into the second. In the second quarter, Indiana brought out their best. Troy Murphy was hitting jumpers like there was no tomorrow, and the Pacers' big men were patrolling the paint well. Thanks to the horrendous bench play, the Pacers wittled down the Rockets' lead to 6 at halftime.

The second half was a completely different story though. The starters came out, and they were ON FIRE!!! Aaron Brooks was scoring threes at will, while Yao Ming was dominating on the low post. Kevin Martin was also helping along, and in the fourth quarter, he really set the tone, maintaining the Rockets' double-digit lead. After many, many games of having to bail his team out, Kevin Martin finally got some great help from his fellow stars, and they blew out the Pacers, claiming the season series.

Hopefully in the next few games, the Big 3 can continue to give some more 20+ point performances. :P

Yeah, they are somewhat small. It's some sort of new human evolution in this dynasty!

Yeah, my defense was just giving them easy layups all game.

Thanks. I sure hope I don't face the Clippers in the playoffs, they're sure to give me a lot of fits.

I did another trade, but I think some of you may disagree with it. :|
RedNation News Article

Celtics Acquire Two Young Guards

The deal was finalized Friday at midnight. It was between the Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors. In this deal, the Boston Celtics send Shelden Williams to Toronto while they receive DeMar Derozan and Marcus Williams. The deal may seem lopsided, but the explanation as to why this trade went through is below.

All season, the Raptors have had to deal with playing Reggie Evans at the Center position. With the arrival of Shelden Williams, they are getting a developing Center who's most well-known for his shot blocking abilities. It is confirmed that the Raptors were after Kendrick Perkins, but the Celtics refused to trade their Center of the future. Now, Boston gets the better end of the deal. They receive two young and upcoming guards, Marcus Williams and DeMar DeRozan. Both of these players weren't seeing many minutes in Toronto, as they had a jam of guards. The Celtics receive great backups for their guards Rajon Rondo and Larry Hughes, after having to play underachieving players in Jermaine Taylor and rookie Walt Ross.

Celtics Trade Grade - A

Raptors Trade Grade - C+

The trade deadline is nearing, so expect more teams to make moves. We will keep you posted on the rumors, and the actual trade. Questions, comments, concerns? Post them below!
