Re: The "How is your Dynasty/Franchise going" Thread

I remember Dallas offered me Sasha Vujacic for T-Mac 2.0

Even in the form MacKenzie is in now, that trade situation is still laughable to me.

Considering Yao is still playing in my dynasty, yours could still have a lot of life in it yet if that's your mind-set ;)

Yeah, that could be so. (Y)

Played yesterday, the damn Celtics offered me a very disrespectful trade: Trevor Ariza for Kevin Martin. Previously, I had traded Ariza to the Celtics for Ray Allen, which was basically a rip-off, but no way I'm gonna let them rip me off. :scold:

Yeah, some of the CPU offers and counteroffers are downright insulting.

Just look at my playoff contest in my franchise. There are rosters there. Look at them. It's funny.

Cleveland wins wrote:Yep, notibale trades, we also made another trade which invovled trading Ben Gordon, Charlie V and Greg Oden to phoenix for Robin Lopez whom i wanted to develop, and Jason Richardson who is now part of our big three which includes, Brandon roy and lamarcus Aldridge, you could say we have a big four with Brandon Jennings. Jason Richardson is our starting shooting gaurd with Brandon Roy coming off the bench. We also have Jose Calderon and Hedu from toronto, i forgot how we got them. I think one of the players involved in a trade for Turky and Jose was Andre Miller, i need another three poiint shooting point gaurd, which i got in Calderon.

Nice. I once traded Martell Webster and a second-round pick for Kevin Durant.

That was a nice trade for Durant, Webster progresses fast and Durant is a great young star.

No, I meant I got Durant and gave away Webster and the pick.

   This game sucks. I sent Eddy + Duhon for Billups + Birdman. It was awful.

What's the worst trade you've ever made? Like, when you gave up a lot and got very little in return?

Back when I was getting into the NBA again (a couple of years ago), I traded Michael Redd for Antoine Walker... it makes me laugh every time I think of it... I ripped myself off big time

By the numbers, I gave up a fair bit to get Boozer, Korver and Mike James on my roster in my 06 Dynasty. It was addition by subtraction though, it cleaned up my rotation and netted me players that have been far more productive. In terms of the results they definitely weren't bad trades, but on paper at least they favoured the CPU teams.

Once I made so many good trades, my lineup was:
C: Tyson Chandler (82)
PF: Dirk Nowitzki (93)
SF: LeBron James (97)
SG: Jason Richardson (90)
PG: Steve Nash (93)
bench: Baron Davis (87), Shawn Marion (86), Stephen Jackson (86), Lamar Odom (85) and a few scrubs. Because I was blowing out teams like the Lakers, I traded away Nowitzki, Davis, and Jackson all to the Raptors for Anthony Morrow (73) and Walter Herrmann (77). After the trade I was still blowing out teams like the Celtics and the Lakers. :D

What about the worst trade? That's what what badreligionau was asking there, after all. ;)

Exactly; we all love to talk about our great trades but has anyone ever made one so completely horrendous? Most of my trades tend to work out for me no matter how lop-sided they look because I tend to know what I need at the time, but Michael Redd for Antoine Walker is terrible really.

Had a Live 2004 dynasty with Detroit where I traded Sheed and Prince for Kirilenko so I could start Darko. Sucked with AK in the game and it turned out turrible.

bordering horrendous, once traded Deron Williams for Shane Battier which met with a fair amount of (expected) flak

I think most of my bad trades haven't necessarily been awful deals on paper, but they've been wildly unrealistic and ultimately killed the interest I had in the Dynasty/Franchise. Having thought on it a little longer though, I do recall a particularly bad one: a Utah Jazz franchise in NBA Live 2002 where I was really going for something different. I traded away Stockton for Mike Bibby (yes, really!), brought Pippen in from the Blazers and for some reason had Karl Malone coming off the bench. It was an experiment that didn't work out, suffice to say.

In my first dynasty on this board (kings 05) I actually traded Kevin Martin for Stacey Augmon. Given what Martin turned out to be and how old Augmon was at that time, that definitely was a horrible trade.

Uh? I know the great Martin was Kenyon, not Kevin.

Kevin Martin's become a much more significant player in the league since then. That's what hova-'s talking about.

Kenyon was a beast in NBA Live 06. I picked up both the MVP and MIP with him in a dynasty.

So, now he's the better K-Mart?

badreligionau wrote:Kenyon was a beast in NBA Live 06. I picked up both the MVP and MIP with him in a dynasty.

Got him once in my dynasty, too, but only after trading away (now-retired) C- Webb (that was Live 08). Good trade or bad trade?

I'd say so, yeah.

I meant: was K-Mart for C-Webb a good trade or a bad one?

Bad trade, seeing as Webber retired.

lol, do you even watch the NBA anymore? Hard to decide which K-Mart's better, but Kevin Martin is a beast, and don't even get me started on his jumpshot. :headbang:
