Funny how you don't really care about Halstead.
Andrew wrote:Clutch wrote:Andrew wrote:Halstead's beginning to look like a lost cause.

Beginning to?
Touche. Still, before he was sent down to the D-League there at least seemed to be a chance that the humbling process might have an effect.

There still is a chance, I'm going to put Halstead to play sooner or later, we'll see how he pans out.
Thierry. wrote:Cigarettes + Big Mac's. Hennessey in locker rooms in the horizon, like Ron Ron?
Apparently Halstead is not watching himself, which is the reason for his sub-par performances.
And sub-par self.Waferstick wrote:I look good in commentating the D-League games.

I'm glad you like your character. I'll try to develop you as an anti-Halstead character.

2-game Recap
[20-3] Houston Rockets 99-87 Atlanta Hawks [10-15]

Donte Greene has just been excellent the past few games.
With Josh Smith injured, the Hawks didn't have any defensive threats, other than Shaq, who went quiet the whole game. The Rockets started out dominating the Hawks, but in the 2nd quarter the Hawks started to chuck and make threes, putting the Rockets back on their heels. In the 3rd quarter, the Rockets went hot, and the Hawks went cold, regaining the lead that seemed impossible to gain in the first half. "You can't let them get a big lead in the 3rd, or it'll cost you. Without Josh, we had no defense," said Jamal Crawford, who has moved up to the starting point guard of the Hawks.
"We found a way to stop them from scoring, and without Josh Smith to shut down the perimeter, the game got easy for us in the 3rd," said Kevin Martin.

Props to Lamrock for the nickname idea.
[21-3] Houston Rockets 89-88 New Jersey Nets [15-12]

Not even Brook Lopez, the performer of the game, saw this dunk coming.
After a horrible season by the Nets last year, they are surprisingly above .500. The Rockets saw both sides of the Nets this game. The first half, the Rockets and the Nets were pretty even, with the scoring picking up in the 2nd. In the third though, the Nets were just chucking and jacking up shot after shot, and missing shot after shot. "It appeared like they didn't wanna win," said the eventual hero of the game Scola,"they were playing without huevos." In the 4th though, due to some hot shooting by Courtney Lee and Nate Robinson, the Nets regained the lead, and it appeared as if the Rockets would lose.
Up 88-85, Kevin Martin stole a bad pass and scored an easy lay-up at the other end to get closer at 88-87. In the defensive end, the Rockets forced a miss from Courtney Lee. Adelman did not call a timeout. Kevin Martin brought the ball up court, aware that the shotclock was still on. He attempted a step-back jumper, but narrowly missed, but Luis Scola, picking up his 10th rebound, was there. He got a layup to go over Josh Boone, with 4.6 seconds left. After a Nets timeout, Brook Lopez tried a layup over Yao, but narrowly missed, as the Rockets barely held on to pick up the win.

Dan Williams (right) is the next Yao Ming, standing at 7"6".

Scola, who doesn't have a big role, scores the game-winner, which is likely to get him the ball more often from now on.

That game from the Nets is so close... Scola is sure a hero in that game. Good to see the Rockets still have the streak going on.

I was thinking of dishing it back out to Martin again, but you never turn down a clear look right under the basket right?

Shaqlanta! Nice game-winner from Scola. Don't hear much about him in this story.

Hey, that's an even better nickname! I'll edit the post, and give you props.
Scola doesn't have a very big role in this dynasty, but at times he can explode for double-digits.

Great play by Scola but a close call with Lopez getting that layup attempt at the other end. Great win.

When K-Mart missed, I thought it was all over, thankfully, Scola is a great rebounder, and was the savior.

Yeah, basically what Andrew said, you just need to re-type your password and voila. I had to put a dot after my name since my name without a dot is already taken.

2-game Recap
[22-3] Houston Rockets 94-89 New York Knicks [12-14]

Brendan Haywood is splitting minutes with Al Harrington at the Big Apple.
The Rockets took a huge bite of the Big Apple. They started the first quarter on a high note, scoring 31 points. Once the game shifted to the second half, it was all New York. The Knicks played excellent defense, holding the Rockets to 12 points. The Knicks regained the lead in the fourth, a nice run sparked by David Lee, who was the eventual performer of the game. With a few seconds left, the Rockets were up 92-89, after some very epic bucket-trading. Kevin Martin was once again given the chance to put the game out of reach, but he narrowly missed his shot. Aaron Brooks somehow sneaked into the paint to grab the offensive board, and layed it up and in to put the Rockets up by 5 and seal the game.
"We were close. We did what was right, and that's limit their third quarter scoring. We didn't let them get out to a big lead in the third, but we just didn't take advantage of what we worked for," said Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni.

This was the game-sealing layup.
[23-3] Houston Rockets 100-92 Milwaukee Bucks [14-12]

The Rockets' dominance on the glass was the huge difference maker in this game.
When you are rebounding and getting second chance opportunities (10+), it's a lock for a win. That's exactly what the Rockets did this game. The 43-28 edge in rebounding helped the Rockets towards a 16-point lead in the third, and afterwards, the Bucks seemed helpless. They would eventually narrow it down to 8, but this game was just too easy for the Rockets' liking.
Both star big men had huge games, Yao Ming with 20 points and 14 boards, and Andrew Bogut with 19 points and 13 boards. Michael Redd was the star of the first for the Bucks, but disappeared afterwards, finishing with 20 points. The Rockets get 4 days of rest, including Christmas Day, before they head to Los Angeles to face their Western Conference rival, the Lakers, whom are surprisingly under .500.

Yeah, I've been on the road for quite a while now. The game is just trying to keep me from playing at home, where I'm 11-0.

What's funny is I was literally half asleep while playing both games, I didn't know what I was doing in a lot of my possessions.

Not only the big 3, but the bench still scores 30+ ppg.

I always use the bench, which us why all the crappy bench players on my teams are traded
