Tell me that you traded him for Melo!

Nice to see the new jerseys integrating with your dynasty

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS
Why do the Clippers, one of the hottest surprise teams of the season shake up their successful starting lineup? Because Kevin Durant brings a whole new presence that the Clippers have yet to experience. He is a superstar, the go to guy, the one that can finally lead the Clippers deep into the playoffs.

With the departure of Kaman, the Clippers now have an entirely new organization, from the players to the staff to the front office since the Clippers made their own playoff run in 2006. Kaman is leaving a big void in the Clippers front court, meaning third year player DeAndre Jordan and rookie, but Euro league all-star, Sofoklis Schorsanitis will have to step up to help rookie Blake Griffin down low for the rest of the season. The Clippers hope that the Durant-Blake-Gordon trio will be a long lasting dynasty in the making.

Assist. GM KidJusitn:
I would like to thank Chris, Ryan, and Randy for their time here. It was very hard to part with Chris as he as been the longest tenured Clipper and a well liked individual on and off the court. He will surely be missed a lot here, but we all hope the best for him in his new environment.

Let's just hope the league doesn't bother us again with this trade...

*Morris Peterson is expected to be moved again (either waived or traded for a draft pick) so that he can get playing time with another team.

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
After coming off a thrilling round one playoff series against the 2-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers, the Thunder have struggled greatly this season winning only 2 games so far. They lose out on superstar Kevin Durant but immediately replace him with another superstar in Carmelo Anthony. Anthony is the type of experienced closer this young Thunder team needs to lead them to success. At 26, Carmelo can still grow with the young team, so he is an investment for the present and the future.

They also picked up the high volume scorer and shooter J.R. Smith. Smith can easily score points virtually anywhere on the court, he can either come in and start while the Thunder's defensive specialist Thabo Sefolosha is recovering from an injury or come of the bench and become an instant 6th man candidate if the Thunder chose to start 2nd year player James Harden.

Despite the loss of Kevin Durant, the Thunder are expected to score more offensively with the additions of Carmelo and Smith.

*Oklahoma City also received the Detroit Pistons 2011 unprotected second round pick via LA Clippers

DENVER NUGGETS
The Nuggets, who drafted Anthony in 2003, agreed to trade him after he showed high disinterest in the franchise and they felt it was time for them to sever ties and start new. They did not want to deal with a player not committed to the organization and would not sign a contract extension. The Nuggets finally get a center to build around since Marcus Camby was trade to these very same Clippers. Kaman is much younger than Camby of course and has a much more polished offensive game. Finding quality at the center position is very hard for any team nowadays, and the Nuggets have got theirs and for a decent contract as well. Nene is either expected to come off the bench, but eventually play along side Kaman, as the organization starts to grow weary of Kenyon Martin, who may find his days in Denver numbered.

They are now in a position to stay competitive now and for the next year behind veterans Chancey Billups and Kaman, but at the same time begin their rebuilding process. They finally rid themselves of J.R. Smith who was showing to be more of a burden than a benefit on and off the court. Also, in two years Billups and Kaman's contracts will expire giving the Nuggets more than $26M in free cap space.

*Denver also received either the LA Clippers 2011 unprotected 1st round pick

Fantastic trade!!!

My Ratings will be

LA Clippers:A(My only hesitation is the gap Kaman leaves and how Sofo will step up)
Thunder:A+ Fantastic trade for them.Melo will cover the place Durantula left and Smith would be a fantastic Starter!
Nuggets:B(time to rebuild ,though getting a star with Kaman but not anything better than Melo)

George7, Thanks! i knew i could trick the AI into certain trades...but I tried to make it as balanced as possible. i did my research

in the real world, durant would not be traded, but in my dynasty..it makes sense.

OH! and i should note that OKC REALLY wanted a SF because of the Thabo injury...Durant was playing SG, which made Melo even more appealing to them. I think that was a factor in all of this.

also it was good i had a 2 day gap inbetween my detroit game and my nj game....because this "3-team" trade was actually 2 2-team trades that fit inetween that time to make it seem like 1 trade all together...so none of this was dbf edited! its a legit trade... http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=5689196

the only part i did on my own was move draft picks because i thought it would be more fair to the teams and i knew the AI usually wont take draft picks this early

right now DJ will start based on NBA experience and he's a bigger body...but it will be a fight in practice between the two to see who will be the starter for the rest of the season...but yea losing Kaman is hard for this team...i just hope last years scoring champion (Durant) with this years current scoring leader (Gordon) will make up for it on the perimeter.

i think Denver will be alright...Kaman is coming of an all-star season plus Ryan Gomes and Randy Foye instantly become starters for that team.

Postby KidJustin on Wed Sep 08, 2010 1:59 am

thats the key! Brook Lopez looks like a good start to experiment in the next game, Love after that would be a good one too, but no real threat

but after that...against Indiana...Hibbert isnt a superstar...but he is playing great at the pacers are still 8-0 right now

Dec 3 will be a big game as the Clippers fly to Denver to face Kaman for the first time

...and i'm not sure how long mo-pete will stay....$6M for a aged vet....not sure if i like it....at least he's on the last year of his contract, if i cant move him
...might re-sign Steve Novak to fill the 13th spot if that move happens

Not a PROPER 3 team trade. He probably traded with one team first then the other team. It basically turned out like a three team trade.

I like the trade personally. You fill a massive gap at sf.

i thought about that...which is why i gave them the OKC 2nd also

u think it would be better to let OKC and Denver just keep their 2nd rounders and I (Clippers) give denver the 1st instead?

Keef, u are correct...i noted that in of my posts...maybe i'll go back and edit the main post to put that in for anyone that misses it...

Houndy66, my thinking exactly  but in real life NBA...a 1st round means guaranteed contract and 2nd round means nonguaranteed

i'll make the adjustment though cuz i think it just sound better

actually i might stick with DJ and Sofo...

i don't want to be too stacked...i already felt that Kaman Griffin Durant Gordon Baron was too much...i originally thought of trading Kaman AND Gordon for Durant because i felt Griffin and Durant would be an epic 1-2 punch with Baron being the vet

...but it was just too hard to part ways with Gordon

I came to settle parting ways with Kaman and deal with the struggles with a hole in the middle

if i got Love though...i'd practically have team USA haha

The official trade details were made available to the fans as they were finding their seats at Staples Center. The arena announcer started introducing the visiting New Jersey Nets and then the Los Angeles Clippers, but the last player introduced was a surprise to some people.

Starting at forward, at 6 foot 9, out of Texas, number 35, welcome your newest Clipper...... KEEEEVVVVIINNNNN DURANT!!!!
Image

The crowd instantly erupted and The New Jersey Nets never had a chance in this one it was over from that point on.

Durant started off with a dish to a wide open Eric Gordon after drawing in multiple defenders. Then the next possession down he hit a jumper for his first of many buckets as a Clipper.

The Clippers dominated the first half, shooting 67% from the field including hitting 7 of 12 3pointers and keeping the Nets to only 39% shooting. They would lead by 30 at the half behind 4 players (Durant, Griffin, Gordon, Young) in double figures for the Clippers.

The Clippers may have felt to relaxed coming out for the third as the Nets went on a 7-0 run as the Clippers kept missing easy inside shots. Eric Gordon would put a stop to it by scoring 7 straight points to put the lead back to 30. Devin Harris did his best to get the Nets back in the game by scoring a game high 28 points, but the Clippers Trio combined for 75 points which ended up with the Clippers winning by 46 points.

Post Game Press Conference with new Clipper, Kevin Durant
Image

Question: How do you like your new team? Have you ever played with talent like Blake and Eric Gordon?
Kevin Durant: The team is great, we are young and very very talented. I've known both of those guys since before the NBA and have stayed quite close with them. Most recently I've had the chance to play with Eric for Team USA Basketball. So I know how he plays already and what I need to do to fit in and lead the Clippers.

Q: Fit in? Don't you feel like you're the superstar and are the new face of this struggling franchise?
KD: Struggling? The Clippers are 11 and 0 right now, and I only played in one game. Eric and Blake are currently the face of this franchise. Since LeBron got injured, Eric has been the leading scorer of the entire league; he is having a great year. Blake is also showing why he was a number one pick by averaging a double-double. I hope to continue to fit in with their chemistry and us 3 will all be the faces of this successful franchise.

Q: How would you compare you 3 (You-Blake-Eric) to the Miami Big 3 (LeBron-Wade-Bosh)? to the Celtics' (Garnett-Allen-Pierce)?
KD: I'll let you know after we play them.

Q: Going back to playing on the same team as Gordon in Team USA, how was it?
KD: It was a great experience. And I can obviously see how well it helped his game this NBA season. I was the leading scorer of that team after group play, but I was a starter and it was expected of me. Gordon on the other had really had to work for it. He wasn't expected to make the team but he did. He wasn't expected to play much, but he was one of the first off the bench. After group play, he was our second leading scorer on the team, and he did it coming off the bench. Now that is real talent and I can't wait to play the rest of the season with him on my team. We will be great teammates, along with Blake and the rest of the squad.

Q: UCLA point guards, Westbrook or Baron?
KD: Haha, no comment...

Q: Predictions on how far the Clippers will go now that you are here? Championship?
KD: Haha, don't we all hope for that?...

Q: If the Clippers are matched up against the Lakers in the playoffs, do you think you can beat them?
KD: :D
