huh? to make a jumpshot? guess you haven't played the previos versions of live.
you gotta look at the animation of the player when taking a shot. i suggest you try the practice mode and just jump around with the ball. Look carefully. Just jump but don't release the ball. You must've seen the peak of the jump by now by just jumping around with the ball.

practice...that's all ya need. nothin more.

Peace 'ya all!

I STILL CAN'T MAKE A CONSISTANT JUMPER ON SUPERSTAR LEVEL AND I'VE PLAYED ALL THE NBA LIVE GAMES. 2003 IS BY FAR THE HARDEST TO EVEN MAKE A EASY WIDE OPEN SHOT. I'VE TRIED TO PLAY ON CPU AND USER ON MY PC. WILL SOME ONE PLEASE HELP BEFORE I LOOSE MY F...... MIND.

Try switching shot control to CPU, and download a decent roster patch.

Go To practice mode and practice practice practice. Also if you notice some players have a different release point at times during superstar play (taller vs. shorter players). It might just be me though. I run with the sonics and for example, when I control R.Lewis (sharpshooter), I release towards the peak of my jump. When I have D.Mason shoot, his jump shot feels different than R. Lewis. I tend to release a little earlier with D.Mason. It might be confusing but practice with your team and get a feel on each player on your team to see where their release point is....hope this helps.

Just keep practicing :o
Even real NBA players miss wide-open shots

Releasing at the peak of the jump should not be taken too literally. Different players and situations require different points of release, in my opinion. I found it is easier to make jump shots in this version than any previous ones due to the inflated default FG rating. Try a patch that adjust for shooting percentage. As for jump shot, I suggest you press and release the button like when you are shooting a real basketball. It is all about the feel and rhythm. If you are on a roll, you can make every jump shots in the quarter (2 or 3 pts), contested or not. I think that emotional engine (pressure sensitivity) of the PS2 controller has something to do with it. Does the PC version have this too?
