November 7, 2010 - I thought the Raptors were supposed to suck at defense. Perhaps they still do, but they held our Mavs to a season low 38% shooting from the field. However, despite Andrea Bargnani's huge game, the Raptors leading throughout the first half, and Jason Terry having the worst shooting night ever, we still managed to eke out a 91-86 win. U mad?

The Raptors led throughout much of the first half, with the Mavs not being able to buy a bucket. Their turnovers and inability to shoot the three ball (a turrible 1-18 for the game) kept us in it. A late run, thanks to hustlin' Haywood knotted the game going into the fourth. The final period saw us finally get into a rhythm on offense, and we led by as much as 11 late in the game. With three minutes left, the Raptors took a timeout and made a late run to steal the game. It would fall short however, as Jason Terry would sink a pair of free throws to put us up 5 with six seconds left. Dirk Nowitzki has been hobbled with a knee injury (hence our worst start since 2006-07), and was thoroughly outplayed by Bargnani, who had 28 points, 9 boards and 5 blocks.

Undefeated Spurs Easily Dispatch Raptors

November 9, 2010 - Don't let the score fool you, this game was never even remotely close. The undefeated Spurs jumped out to an early lead in the first, which swelled to 17 points by halftime. Leandro Barbosa's hot shooting got the Raptors within relative striking distance late in the game, but a Manu Ginobili three sealed the deal. The Spurs improve to 6-0, and are now one of just two undefeated teams remaining (the other being the Heat). The Raptors fall to 2-5.

Rose, Bulls Hand Raptors Third Straight Loss

November 11, 2010 - At home, and up 17 against the Bulls, the Raptors should have won, right? Following an offensive onslaught by Derrick Rose and an off game for Leandro Barbosa, the Craps fell apart in the second half yet again. The Bulls' victory wasn't free, however. Backup point guard C.J. "Disaster" Watson" suffered a severe ankle sprain, and will be out of action for a couple weeks. The loss is the third straight for the Raptors.

Bargnani Leads Raptors Past Surprising Clippers

November 13, 2010 - After their third straight bad season, not much was expected of the Clippers this year. However, with former #1 pick Blake Griffin in tow, LA's other team has stunned the world, starting the season with a 6-3 record. Some have called it a fluke. Following the Clippers' home loss to the Raptors, those people appear to be right. Andrea Bargnani exploded for 21 points, 13 rebounds and a season high five blocks, as Toronto held off the Clip Show to end their three game skid. Griffin had a solid game however, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 boards.

Wow the Heat own. The Raptors don't though. My man Dirk played so bad and you still could not win. The only good thing is that Bargnani is already playing quite well. Maybe some coaching sessions to improve his post game / defense and he will turn into an All-Star.

Raptors, Grizzlies Reportedly In Trade Talks About Thabeet
November 14, 2010 - The Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors are reportedly having trade talks regarding former #2 draft pick Hasheem Thabeet. Thabeet, 23, was played sparingly in his rookie season, averaging just 3.1 points in 11 minutes per game. With the emergence of fellow Center Marc Gasol, Thabeet's role on the team has been questioned. The Tanzanian's playing time has increased only slightly, to 12.8 minutes per game, and he averages 1.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

The Raptors are said to be offering young power forward Amir Johnson and recently acquired Aussie Center David Andersen in the deal. The trade would not be legal in the CBA, and another player with a million dollars in salary must be sent to the Raptors for it to work. Johnson, 25, was extended to a 5 year deal in the off-season after a solid 2009-10 campaign, but with his role compromised by Boris Diaw, has only averaged 4.7 points and 4 rebounds a game. He would likely be expected to take over for the aging, expiring Zach Randolph next season. Andersen was acquired in a salary dump from the Rockets, and has yet to play this season.

66 in my rosters. Amir's a 72 IIRC, Andersen's a 60, but obviously he has by far the biggest upside in the deal.

What's so interesting about Andersen going to Toronto? Watching him play in Houston was frustrating since he couldn't play any defense at that size.
