K-Mart will keep pulling the trigger and the Clutch (ironic isn't it?

). Yeah, the Pistons did catch me by surprise, and I thought it would be a rebounding fest between Yao and Big Ben, but only 15 boards combined for them? Should've been 15 boards each.
Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:08 am
That 12-0 run certainly hurt. Tough luck, but at least Martin's streak continues.
Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:27 am
I never saw a lead again after that 12-0 run. I came within at least 3, but the Pistons were the better team. Well, here's to hoping K-Mart goes some more games with 30+ points.
Fri Jul 09, 2010 1:35 am
Hope you can keep K-Mart streak alive!

3-game Recap
[52-10] Houston Rockets 107-118 Washington Wizards [26-35]

This game was all offense with little signs of defense.
The Rockets found themselves in an unusual situation after this game, and that's losing back-to-back games for the first time this season. Both teams had an inablility to get defensive rebounds, and a lot of possessions ended with second chance points. However, despite the loss Kevin Martin scored 39 points, and has now tied Moses Malone's record.

The Rockets continue to struggle against under .500 teams. The Nets gave the Rockets a run for their money, but in the end defense helped the Rockets pull the W.

Kevin Martin is now 2 games past the 30+ point franchise record.
Last time these two teams faced off, it was a thriller. This game was no different. In the second half, the Nuggets rallied and picked apart at the Rockets' 10 point lead. However, clutch defense by the Rockets was able to shut down the Nuggets as the Rockets are now 6 wins away from their first ever 60-win season.

The Rockets are now 54-11, and one of two teams to clinch a playoff berth, the other being the Phoenix Suns. Kevin Martin has now gone 15 games with 30+ points and leads the league in scoring with 29.5 PPG. Kobe Bryant is second with 27.7 PPG, so he has a pretty comfortable lead.

Some tougher games than expected from the sounds of things, but congrats on breaking Moses Malone's record and keeping the streak alive.

In the Wizards game I wanted to give Mike Miller a fuckin' haircut because he got more offensive rebounds than he should be allowed.

Thanks Thierry.

and the streak continues

keep it going as long as possible; gotta leave no doubts about it, ya know?

Yeah, try to keep it going until the end of the regular season, maybe even in the playoffs.

2-game Recap
[54-11] Houston Rockets 103-100 Memphis Grizzlies [29-39]

Zach Randolph dominated the Rockets with 21 points and 15 boards.
The first two times these two teams faced off this season, the Grizzlies were seen with their heads down. This time was different, even though the Rockets still won. With OJ Mayo carrying the Grizzlies with 43 points, the Rockets had a tough time trying to settle them down. The second half proved to be a challenge, with the Rockets losing their lead and the Grizzlies just dominating. However, Kevin Martin showed why he broke Moses Malone's record. His clutch came through and gave the Rockets the lead, and the Rockets stole a W from the Grizzlies.

[55-11] Houston Rockets 94-89 Boston Celtics [41-26]

When not even Shane Battier can stop you, you know it's your night.
The Rockets had another close game. With the Celtics dominating the second half, the Rockets just looked worn out. Even Kevin Martin looked like he gave up, only scoring 30 points. However bad turnovers and shot selection was what caused the Celtics to blow a 6 point lead with a few minutes left, and in the end, the Rockets managed to steal yet another W.

Zach looks frightening... exciting duel between Mayo v. Martin... keep the streak alive man (you nearly choked v. the Celts!)
Tue Jul 13, 2010 8:25 am
Clutch, that's why I took that picture of Zach

. I guess the near choke is a sign of things to come unfortunately.
AnnouncementFor everybody's convenience, I've added a list of transactions in the very first post of this thread. For those of you reading this dynasty, you'll want to know who's in what team, as I'm sure this isn't the only dynasty you read

. So far I've only added the trades, but soon afterwards, I will add Free Agent signings.
Tue Jul 13, 2010 9:51 am
Sounds like a fun scoring duel between Martin and Mayo. Close call in Boston, nice work capitalising on their late game collapse.
Tue Jul 13, 2010 10:00 am
Yeah it was a hard game. Though I think the reason I win so many games is the end of game logic of the CPU. The Celtics were down by 3 with a few seconds left, and Paul Pierce gets the ball to Kendrick Perkins whom is fouled and only makes 1/2. So really, in the last minute of play, as long as I'm up by 3, it's a guaranteed win.
And with the K-Mart-Mayo duel, I actually slowed him down in the 4th, he had 41 points after the 3rd quarter, so what does that tell you about my defense?
Tue Jul 13, 2010 10:01 am
Yeah, that's a pretty good defensive effort in the fourth. Nicely done.
Tue Jul 13, 2010 10:06 am
Don't think I've posted in this dynasty yet, but great job with it. The presentation is superb. You need to lose more though.

Thanks bro, welcome to my dynasty then.

Yeah, everyone says "finally, a loss!" everytime I lose, but like I said, with the end of game logic for the CPU, it's hard to blow leads. However in the games I did lose, I gave myself a challenge on purpose.
Tue Jul 13, 2010 11:46 pm
Shootout between Mayo and Martin, great having the 2W's, even though Rajon Rondo played very well.

3-game Recap
[56-11] Houston Rockets 94-83 New York Knicks [37-32]

Aaron Brooks is showing some great end-of-season energy.
The Rockets blew an 18 point lead this game, but what's important is how the Rockets had this much of a lead on a team that gave them trouble at home. Danilo Gallinari and T-Mac's poor shooting left the Knicks helpless. However, Al Harrington and David Lee's scoring and offensive boards helped them pound away this deficit. The Rockets held on after this rally, and are closer to their first 60-win season.
Note: K-Mart was close to losing his 30+ point streak, but when running the clock out of the game, he hit a 3 at the buzzer, and that bumped him up to 30 points.

[57-11] Houston Rockets 95-103 Chicago Bulls [42-27]

Another poster for Yao's collection.
The Rockets went to OT against the Bulls, despite the Bulls' poor shot selection throughout the whole game (Brad Miller shooting 3's is poor shot selection right?). In OT, the Rockets choked, who choked them? Luol Deng he was hot all night with 33 points. What about K-Mart? He had 26 points, ending streak at 18 games. Post-Game Interview-
RedNation Inteviewer: "Kevin, you go for more than 30 points every night, and tonight, not even in OT, you couldn't get past 30, what happened out there?"
K-Mart: "We choked. I admittedly choked. I couldn't get any shots to fall, not even open ones. Their offense was just better than ours, and a loss is a loss, can't do much about that."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------With only 12 games left in the season, I'm doing three (3) four-game recaps. Kevin Martin's streak came to an end, but he's still the leader in PPG, with 29.7. That scoring title is in his clutches.

It was a relief when the Grizzlies game ended, Mayo was just annoying.
Rondo played very well, he was the reason the Celtics gave me a lot of trouble.

Wow, 26 boards for Noah.

Sorry to hear the streak came to an end but you had a pretty good run with it. Now that you don't have to focus on it though, there's no potential for it to be a distraction.
Thu Jul 15, 2010 1:25 am
weird to lose the streak in an OT game but as Andrew mentioned, at least the pressure's off and you can focus on just winning games; plus Yao came away with a new poster too

I wish Yao could get 20+ boards every now and then

. It was becoming a challenge to score with K-Mart, as teams were playing good defense on him, but 18 games with 30+ points will help him towards his first scoring title.
Clutch wrote:weird to lose the streak in an OT game but as Andrew mentioned, at least the pressure's off and you can focus on just winning games; plus Yao came away with a new poster too

My focus is to just get a 60-win season, now that I have a playoff spot, and with Phoenix 8-9 games behind me, home court in the playoffs is in the bag.
Brad Miller payed the price for taking ill-advised shots, getting posterized by Yao.
