He's the fourth option (sometimes 5th when Joakim is playing well) and normally gets his points off offensive rebounds or clean rolls to the basket since i cant seem to hit a damn jumpshot with him...

Lamrock wrote:Great month Valor! Finally living up to your stacked roster's potential. Keep it up. (Y)

I know, I know, my team is too stacked. Shouldn't have made that Smith trade huh :? Oh well, at least i'm not as stacked as the Lakers, Kings, Rockets, or Wizards still

Ed Davis averaging a double-double and Wall only 11 ppg, that sucks.

8 straight wins, keep it up! (Y)

looks like Ed Davis may be on his way to RotY; also love that 3 of the top 5 PGs are ol' school veterans (Y)

    02/06/11
    Lakers Trade: Luke Walton
    Warriors Trade: Shaquille O'Neal

everytime i read it, it's just sooo not right :?

Ed Davis is basically "The Man" in New York since they have no one aside from TMac and a bunch of D-Leaguers while John Wall actually has competition for minutes with the Wolves
I'm pretty happy with the win streak but aside from two wins, they are all against non-playoff teams so I'll have to wait until a real challenge comes along to see how my squad is doing exactly (Y)

I'd say he's the favorite to win it, hands down (Y)

Well actually, their ratings are around the same now. You gotta remember this is 2011, Shaq is longggg past his prime and well into the decline age  but i know what you mean since we've all witnessed the O'Neal domination era.....

quick side note: the Lakers now have 3 guys (Gasol, Bynum, Shaq) in the top 5 for field goal percentage

Vintage Iverson helps Philly take down Bulls in double-overtime

Image

Chicago, IL - Brad Miller knocked down a three to sent the game to overtime.

Dwyane Wade's fadeaway extended Chicago's life yet again as the game went into the second overtime.

But alas for the Bulls, a veteran move by The Answer finally sealed the win for the Philadelphia Sixers.

The former NBA MVP and four time scoring champion managed to draw a sixth foul from Chicago's Joakim Noah on a three point attempt with the game tied and 0.4 seconds remaining on the clock, then went to the line and calmly sank the game winning free throws.

All three of them.

Iverson finished with 41 points, making it the 80th time he has scored 40 or more in his 14 year career, he also added 9 assists to lift the 76ers to a 111-108 victory in double overtime.

"He was amazing out there tonight" said Chicago's Dwyane Wade, who finished with 35 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in the loss "We've all watched him do those amazing things growing up, and now we have experienced it in person. He's a phenomenal player"

Iverson had some help, too.

Elton Brand came alive and dropped 19 points along with 16 rebounds, Andre Iguodala struggled and finished with just 13 points but played some great defense on Luol Deng and limited him to just 8 points while Louis Williams had 13 and 9. Samuel Dalembert also grabbed 16 rebounds.

"My team and I fought hard and played with our hearts to get this win" said Iverson "I'm blessed to have this god given ability and it's just a great feeling to be out there playing like that. I'll definitely remember this game "

Chicago battled hard against the Sixers. Derrick Rose had 22 points and 6 assists before picking up his sixth foul with 1:09 remaining in the second overtime. Noah yet again tied his career high in rebounds with 21 and had 11 points before he picked up the costly foul on Iverson while Josh Smith had 5 rejections to add to his double double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bulls struggled from the start but managed to tied the game at 43 all from a hail mary shot by Kyle Korver from the half court line at the end of the first half, and managed to take the lead going into the fourth.

Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers came back aggresively and had a 3 point lead with 2.1 remaining when Brad Miller hit a three point shot over Elton Brand to tie the game with 0.8 seconds left on the clock and sent it to overtime.

Philly remined strong in overtime and it took a tough turnaround fadeaway from Dwyane Wade with 4.9 seconds to send it to the second extra period, where both teams fought back and fourth until the very end when Iverson sealed the deal at the line.

"This will go down as one of the most epic games in league history" said Bulls coach Byron Scott "It was unfortunate that Joakim fouled him (Iverson) in that situation, and no doubt he's killing himself over it right now, but he (Iverson) is just too good, even the greatest defenders would have fallen for it"

The Bulls are now 47-25 for the season and still retains the first seed in the East while the Sixers also retain their position at the third seed with a record of 43-30, 2 games behind Orlando and three games ahead of the Boston Celtics.

You got owned by Iverson?! Ouch. Sounds like a fun, albeit heartbreaking game. At 47-25, the team's still looking good though. Looking forward to the playoffs

He's been doing this for the last 13 years in the NBA, that's how he got that MVP, finals appearance, scoring titles...etc

Trade Wade for Boozer in the off-season, both will land in their respective teams.

Anyway, catch those Lakers and get the best record in the league. (Y)

I'll get sacked if i do that
as for catching the Lakers, they're on a 11 game winning streak with 8 games left, most of their opponents are non-playoff teams. I'm against a few playoff ones (Bobcats x2, Wizards, Celtics, Philly) and only 2 non-playoff teams...hard to do but i'll give it a shot (Y)

Gibson to miss rest of season with ankle injury
April 7th, 2011

Image
Bulls forward Taj Gibson will miss the rest of the regular season after suffering
a severe ankle sprain in the Bulls' game against the Indiana Pacers last night.

The 6'9" sophomore forward landed awkwardly on Pacers forward Tyler Hansbrough's
foot following a rebound and immediately fell down in pain. Gibson was helped off
the court and was evaluated by the Bulls medical staff and did not return.

Gibson will get a second opinion on his injury this Friday, but early indications is
that he will miss the rest of the regular season and most of the playoffs.

For the season, the forward is averaging 1.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game
over 76 games for the Chicago Bulls, after a solid rookie campaign, Gibson was
reduced to a bench role following the acquisition of Josh Smith and has played just
under 16 minutes per game.

well i'll have to reach deep and either use Kwame Brown or Sean May to fill that void, and probably have to go with a 8, 9 player rotation in the playoffs now instead of letting my guys rest more, but yes, nothing too major (Y) April Recap, Regular Season Summary Article, Playoff Previews coming soon!
