What do you think happens? hello lottery: and hope there's another Lebronesque talent soon.

Wait, every team with cap space.. they were teams from the east right?
Fri Jul 09, 2010 11:56 am
The Thunder have cap space too.

No, the extension doesn't take effect until next year.

Apparently the proceeds of The Decision will be going to good causes, which is admirable. Still an egotistical move of course, as Bill Simmons put it:

Totally fine with LBJ switching teams. But doing that to Cleveland via a one-hour TV show was absolutely brutal. An unprecedented Eff You.
Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:17 pm
I don't like the idea of D-Wade playing second fiddle to LBJ on his own team, but hey if they win that's all that matters. I was hoping James was going to Chicago to keep the East more competitive overall. Oh well... looks like you might need a new avatar Andrew

lebron just guarenteed himself asshole status for the rest of his career, good for him
Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:20 pm
So I'm watching the local news right now and they have some nice footage of people shouting profanities at LeBron's house.

The main theme of the show right now is "King's Betrayal".
Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:22 pm
Don't they watch TV? He's in Conncecitut.

I thought he did that when he announced he would be in the dunk contest and went back on it a year later.
I actually like LeBron James, but from all reports, what he did was a dick move. I still haven't seen the press conference yet.

Already taken care of.

I'm not a huge Lebron and Cavaliers fan but this sucks. Reggie Miller was right when he said "three championships in Miami is equal to one championship in Cleveland." He or (they) will be defined by the championships they don't win rather than those that they can win.
Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:32 pm
Miami Heat games will now be 3 straight hours of freethrow shooting.
Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:36 pm
the only reason to have a press conference is to say i am gonna stay. telling the world you are bolting like that after it was clear as shit you already knew you were bolting is just wrong

Chris Broussard is comparing the Heat to the 2008 Celtics, noting that no one expected Rajon Rondo or Kendrick Perkins to step up. The thing is, the Heat don't have a Rajon Rondo or Kendrick Perkins; the Celtics on the other hand had a roster in place, made those trades for KG and Allen then signed Posey. The Heat seem to be immediately becoming a popular pick for the 2011 championship, but I think we've got to see who else they can bring in before they can fairly be called the favourites.

I agree with this. Mike Brown and Anderson Varejao is just a pain to watch.
Well the Cavs could just bring back Darius Miles and Ricky Davis.

I blame Boston for all of this. Getting their Big Three years ago which gave Riley, Wade, Bosh, & LeBron the idea.

LeBron playing the point - oh shite.

imo he's most comfortable playing the point since that was his role in H.S. or when he learned to play ball for that matter.

Last time I saw jersey burnings was when the Celtics lost out the #1 pick and were burning mock Tim Duncan jerseys.
There's also the burning of Durant/Oden jerseys but I forgot which fans were doing it when their team were out of the top two picks.
Bill Simmons wrote:Multiple teams -- that's right, multiple -- believe Wade went through the free-agency process partly to spy on Miami's competitors for Pat Riley
Wow. Talk about team loyalty. It might be considered a dick move by the other teams but I can appreciate what Wade did, in a sinister kind of way.
