LeBron Leaning Towards Miami HeatLeBron James has decided to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami, according to multiple sources that spoke with Newsday.
"Multiple sources are telling Newsday that LeBron James has decided to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami," wrote Hahn on his original Tweet, posted shortly after midnight Eastern. "The new Big Three is here."
RealGM Note: The headline on Newsday's sport page reads 'Sources: LeBron leaning towards choosing Heat.'
The news of the 10-11 NBA salary cap being at $58.044M creates additional cap room for James, Wade and Bosh to get closer to a maximum contract.
James is scheduled to announce his final decision live on ESPN at 9:00 PM EST on Thursday.
James met with the Knicks, Nets, Heat, Clippers, Cavaliers and Bulls in that order last week.
The Heat only have Michael Beasley ($4.962M) and Mario Chalmers ($854k) under contract for the 10-11 season.
Wade and Bosh stated their intention to sign with the Heat on Wednesday morning.

Only a sociopath would be happy about this rumor.
Thu Jul 08, 2010 3:39 pm
We need to organize some kind of cage fight between King Dee and TheDee to settle this.
And have this guy referee it:
Thu Jul 08, 2010 3:56 pm
And have the Dee Brown as commentators. That's right, there are lots of Dee Brown.

What about those of us who want to get the coming CBA bloodbath over with as quick as possible?
Thu Jul 08, 2010 5:57 pm
Isn't there already a LeBron James thread?
Thu Jul 08, 2010 6:07 pm
Yes, but all reasonable people realize that a massive rumor or big signing is important enough to get a new thread, especially on a forum with only say 30 regular posters.
Thu Jul 08, 2010 7:23 pm
We should have just created a sub forum for Lebron.
Thu Jul 08, 2010 8:41 pm
Maybe create a new thread for star players.E.g LeBron thread,Wade thread...
Thu Jul 08, 2010 8:46 pm
Why bother? None of them are worthy enough to have an hour of TV prime time like LeBron, much less a thread.
Thu Jul 08, 2010 9:11 pm
Lebron will announce his decision in the first 10 minutes of the TV Show~

I'm surprised the Heat is back in the discussion, as a primary contender. If this happens, I would be damn excited to see how Wade/Bosh combo would work out, whether it'll be like what we predicted so far, or not.

We actually tried it before with Kobe, it was well-intentioned but ultimately a bad idea.
Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:26 pm
so we'll have wade (3) bosh (4) Lebron (6)
I swear if people start saying shit like 4-6-3 like in baseball for double plays ill be very annoyed
Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:38 pm
nothing official yet, I think Lebron wants to see the reaction to this rumor. He will probably change his mind and choose to remain a Cav or go to NY
Moreover, 3 big salaries in Miami means less $ for bench players. 3 guys even as good as those 3 will never make a full team.
I read that there will be only 3.8M$ left to hire 8 players : 475k$ per players !!! who will accept such salary (not Mike Miller, not brendan haywood, not Shaq)

Let's say IF LeBron has decided to go to the Heat, then this TV special is a remarkably stupid move. Straightaway, just by even doing the show, he's labelled himself as the most important cog in the machine. He probably is, but if the team is going to work, then there needs to be some semblance of equality between the Large 3.
The Celtics Big 3 worked because all 3 guys had humility and were prepared to make on-court sacrifices to win games. When KG and Allen joined Boston, they insisted that Paul Pierce would be the team captain, because he'd been there the longest. Would LeBron James do the same?
Anyway, as a Bulls' fan, that's the straw that I'm clutching at.

I'd actually prefer, if LeBron stays in Cleveland or goes to Chicago or NY. I don't think LeBron would make an hour long special to announce that he is following Bosh and Wade.
And if he does go, everybody other then Heat fans would just want the Heat to lose. Cause that would be a 70+ win team fur sure.
And Chalmers has to change his number or be traded if LeBron comes, so he could wear 6. Can't go back to 23 in Miami.

I've heard that number thrown around for years and still no one got to it. I don't think the Heat can reach that even with LeBron if they don't have other decent players.
The 72 win Bulls team were good offensively and defensively. They had four players in their starting five that can play defense (Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Harper). The Heat offense is granted, if LeBron does end up with them, but can't say the same defensively, even Wade has his usual brain farts that he forgets to play defense and lets his man go past him and I doubt Chris Bosh is a defensive monster down in the post. Mario Chalmers isn't even comparable to Ron Harper.

agreed. to reach 70 you need to be better on defensive than offense but have enough fire power to score when needed. i dont think this team is good enough to win that many or if it is even worth doing so?

Exactly. Lebron is overrated on the defensive end and not even close to what Pip was able to do, Chris Bosh is the Rupaul of big man and nothing in the eyes of Dennis Rodman in terms of defense, Wade is good but as you said, brain farts and as much as i love him, no where near what Jordan can do on D. Chalmers is a bench player and shouldn't even be mentioned

The once in a lifetime miracle just occured
Fri Jul 09, 2010 2:50 am
Yeah, you're probably right. If the supporting cast are good defenders and they get a better PG though, they could finish with the league's best record.
But my point was I wouldn't like it to happen.
