Stuart Scott: "last time they drafted this high, 1997, turned out pretty good: Tim Duncan"

Drafting first and drafting twentieth are quite different, Stuart.

Stephen A. Smith must be rolling in his grave.

One of the Bjelica "highlights" had him rebounding a free throw and handing the ball to the point guard. I'm hoping he's had better moments.

Cool to see Warren and Griffin reunite. Turrible decision by Warren to stay in school. Surprised Stanley Robinson is probably going undrafted.

Good potential, rough around the edges, boom-or-bust player really. He's a good pick at 13 though.

I was happy with Detroit's draft. Monroe is a good second prize to Cousins I suppose and Terrico White has the most athleticism the Pistons have seen since Ronald Dupree was riding on Larry Brown's injured reserve.

I can deal. However I don't know how T'Wolves fans can deal with David Kahn shitting himself every June, he's just awful. Pritchard did a good job with his job being non-existent after this draft. Clippers getting Bledsoe is a very good acquisition, Thunder stock piling talent makes me jealous of their incredible farm system, Larry Bird drafted two high upside bust possible players, which is rare since he usually sticks with guys who are already at or near their cieling, and did I mention the Clippers had a damn good draft?

Teams got some good players in the second round: Ebanks is a nice pick-up for the Lakers, Alabi is a good gamble for Dallas, Whiteside is a risk in round one, but a no-risk guy in round two, and I think Varnado will be a good rotation big man in the NBA for a long time due to his defensive awareness and ability.

Terribly boring Draft. Even with alcohol (N) The NBA really needs to pull its head in. It was interesting when Stephen A. Smith went on his rant about the Knicks, it was funny seeing Dick Vitale go red crying about seniors going to low. They chose the dullest ESPN cast possible.

No Stephen A. Smith (N)
No Dick Vitale (N)
No Fran random international lover (N)

Only guy I would keep would be Jay Bilas, because everybody loves good length & exception wingspan. But even he was subdued because how can you be excitable next to grumps & chump.

Between this & the terrible playoffs (outside of Suns-Lakers series), it's getting harder & harder to be an NBA fan. And this is coming from somebody who absolutely loves the NBA Draft, or did.

Am I overreacting, yes. Arrgghhh.

Fran was there. But it was hard to tell him, Rick Bucher and Andy Katz apart.

I just found it boring because this arms race between DX, Chad Ford and Woj from Yahoo basically ruined any surprise aspect in the lottery. Even as the draft was going on they were announcing the picks on Twitter minutes before they were actually announced on TV. Jay Bilas is a spaz and shouldn't be part of this, I thought every guy's weakness was going to be turnovers for a while.

Kirk Hinrich trade was the highlight trade of the day, what a disappointment.

Watched the first 15 picks live, hoping to see some trades. Last year it was VC and Crawford, now the blockbusters were Mo-Pete + 11 for 21 and 26 (or was it 18?) and Ryan Gomes and rights to Babbitt for Webster. The Hinrich deal was already out before the draft.

Plus most of the picks were already public before the draft, only Udoh was a bigger surprise. Though it was on RealGM Draft Night before the announcement. The biggest shock of the night was Pritchard's firing, don't get that at all.

The Heat at least got 3 players to fill their roster a bit and making history in the process.

That wasn't a surprise, I called it at the time. Monroe was the pick there but word out was he had a bad workout so the closest athletic big to follow Monroe is Udoh. Pick made sense, even if a little bit of a stretch at that spot.

Don't forget that he loves young players, with an NBA ready body, and want them to be more aggressive.

I just hope that the Mavs draft pick will be any good.
