So? I'm sure Kwame Brown played a slightly-above-average game once. Is he a good player too?

You're a dumbass. You don't become a starting small forward on a championship team if you're not a good player. He's got his faults but he was superb defensively. Don't let your ignorance get in the way of acknowledging he's a good player.

Axelgomez, you misunderstood me. Nevermind though, I'm not in the mood to lose braincells atm.

Reading various comments around the web, I think it's time we make a distinction within the Lakers' fanbase. Sane folk with obvious signs of intelligence that love the Lakers can be Laker fans, the fanboys who are calling the Celtics shit and spouting other assorted gibberish (and usually the word "hater" way too liberally) can be lakerz fanz.

Yes he's a good player, just for the time he played an above average game  . And just like Jackal said, if you suck, you are not a starter on the Lakers.

Usually I don't go this far, but only reason Kobe was able to play at higher level than from 2008 Finals was because of Artest's presence. He was a threat on both ends of the floor, giving Ray and Pierce, even Celtics' frontcourt trouble time to time, making them less effective. Besides, we all saw how he gave Kobe(whom some claim the best ever) tough times in last year's playoffs. How can any idiot say he sucks. His numbers have dipped of course that's because of being on the Lakers. Nobody should take away what he can do as a player. Discussing his value as a player is dumb as fuck as he was vital to the success of Lakers this season.

I guess it goes same for any team fans. However, it's true that the fans of Kobe(especially Sit and Sir Jackal) made me hate the Lakers despite of me being a fan of the Lakers and Kobe before this year's playoffs. God damn, I just can't stand their biased views, and if you are suggesting that we lynch those annoying Lakers fans, I'm all for it. And if you could include Sauru in that list of fans we should work on, the world of NLSC could become a better place for generations to come.

Absolutely, there are fanz within every fan base (I wouldn't deem Sit or Jackal to be amongst their number, though) and they're the ones who annoy everyone, even the fans of their favourite team. The Lakers' success just allows lakerz fanz to be a bit more obnoxious than other fanboys; I'm sure there were plenty of bullz fanz back in the 90s, indeed I suggest a fair amount of bullz fans have since become lakerz fanz.

I use "fan/s" when referring to those Lakers followers who have braincells.
"Fanboys" when referring to those cockroaches who come out of the woodwork. They may not have the braincells or a functioning head but they sure are persistent to show their stupidity.

Was a good series and Game 7 went down to the wire. Kobe looked like he was going to shoot us out of contention and Pau wasn't shooting too well either - so thank you to Ron Artest for playing two of his best games of the postseason in Games 6 and 7. He did his thing and made up for missing those two free throws near the end of Game 5. (Not to mention great defense on Pierce for most of the series!)

It was a very great Game 7. I loved how it was a defensive grind-out instead of a blowout win from either of the teams - it doesn't matter if it's lowscoring, it was still an exciting game. It was probably all the more enjoyable as I was the only Lakers fan in this Irish pub and I was screaming my head off when:

1. Artest hit that three pointer.
2. Sasha hit his two free throws.

And as the buzzer sounded, I was high fiving my buddy from the Bay area who was jumping on the bandwagon because he likes the Warriors, hates the Lakers but doesn't give a shit about Boston. And the whole pub was pretty much silent.

Jackal, I'm with you re: Jax. I hope he comes back but that is all pending his health. However, I'm pretty sure he wil be back. Here's to a threepeat!

Andrew, this was by far a hard-fought Finals win and I agree that the Lakers have a good chance to repeat next season but it's going to be an even tougher task next season. I'm eagerly awaiting the Summer to see if the team is going to upgrade the starting PG position. Fisher is great but I think it's nearly time he took a backup role but that requires the team to find a suitable starter.

And to all the people who said that Artest wasn't going to be a good fit. He may have his 'issues' but tell me that Trevor Ariza would have been able to step up like he did when Kobe/Pau were struggling. :)

Gone 7/18 from the floor including 2/7 from three? With five rebounds? I'm sure he could have got close. Game three last year? 2/7 from three (spot on), 5/13 from the floor (close enough, basically the same percentage), seven rebounds (better).
