Exactly what happened to me with the Grizz, despite its 2K10

Yeah, for every shot I'd miss, they'd make. For every shot I'd make, they'd make.

I still have to check out 2K myself, hopefully when both Live 11 and 2K11 come out, I'll buy both to really see for myself which one's better. I think the reason I kept missing was because in tense moments like against the 6ers, I always get the ball to Yao or K-Mart, and I just don't realize someone like AB, Ariza, or Scola, maybe even someone from the bench, might have the rhythm to help us out of a double-digit deficit.

Sounds like what happens in the fourth quarter every game in NBA Live 2003. In Superstar, you could be 20 points up and your defensive players completely die and none of your shots connect and you miss multiple dunks in a row and all that crap. All of a sudden, the CPU will intercept like six straight passes and somehow get super speed and rocket up for the dunk and I wouldn't put it past a CPU-player Shaq to put up a three. (
shocked silence) With about a minute left in the game, you'll find that your 20 point lead has just evaporated and you go into double overtime. Then scores rocket toward 200 points apiece while only playing 9 min. quarters. Live 2003 is my favorite game to date, but those quirks sometimes make it almost unbearable. Good thing my computer is physically durable and can withstand kicks from a soccer player...

Well, on the offensive end, Philadelphia was beatable with just little defensive effort. But, like you said, my defensive players died. It kinda had to do with the sliders, if I bump my shooting sliders up by 5, I make every 7/10, and if I bump them down from the original, I make every 1/10. So my problem with Live isn't entirely the CPU, it is my sliders, I can't seem to find the right ones. Every time I'm ok with a slider combination, I either start missing a lot, or some other bull crap happens. And I understand you kicking your computer, I kick mine every time it freezes.

3-game Recap
For this three-game stretch the Rockets went 2-1.
[19-3]Houston Rockets 111-103 Toronto Raptors [13-12]
The Rockets had a frustrating start and were down by 14 at the end of the 1st. However, the Big 3 made a run and got back in the game in the 3rd quarter. K-Mart, AB, and Yao finished with 34, 28, and 18 respectively. Hedo scored 35, and Bosh had 30 points and 18 rebounds!

[20-4] Houston Rockets 101-84 Denver Nuggets [11-14]
I will be hated by badreligionau if he sees this, but with Chauncey Billups out, Melo had nobody to share the scoring load with. The Nuggets had a good first quarter, but the Rockets had the lead for the rest of the game after the second. It's nice to finally see the Rockets on the right end of a blowout. Melo went for 30 (literally pampered by the refs, as every time he drew an inch of contact, the refs called a foul), while the Big 3 had another good night. With Denver's lack of an experienced PG, (playing Ty Lawson), the Nuggets lose a mile above sea level.

-That's probably why our cpu's freeze.
-NBA Live 2003 does not have any sliders, which kind of ticks me off. The only sliders it has for gameplay (not player ratings)are how often fouls are called.
-Do you get those 150+ point games playing 8/9min. quarters? Cause I can't score less than that in 2003 otherwise I will have the ball stolen and somehow the opposing team has two more points before I can do anything else.

Actually, the most I've ever scored playing 9 minute quarters was 130 points. And that's with both me and the CPU using the least amount of shotclock on every posession.

Red Nation News Article
Jazz trying to build a noise making team in the West?
The Jazz have made two trades in this month of December. The first, involved Paul Millsap going to Charlotte in exchange for Tyrus Thomas and Gerald Henderson. The next trade shocked the NBA. The Jazz traded Carlos Boozer to Minnesota for Al Jefferson! This is likely to mess up the Jazz front-court rotation, as they can either put Memo at PF and Big Al at C, or Tyrus at PF, Al at C, and Memo coming off the bench. This is significant because as the Jazz is in the West, they could end up playing the Rockets in the playoffs. The media interviewed some of the Rockets. Donte Greene said "I think both teams get a good deal, but the Jazz lose a loyal player in Carlos Boozer who's familiar with the plays, but I guess when you bring in a younster like Tyrus, you don't have enough room for a guy like Boozer." Starting PG Aaron Brooks said, "This is likely to ruin Boozer's championship desires, as he's going to the worst team in the league. Al is a tough guy to go up against, just ask Yao. It's gonna be hard for me Kyle, and Kevin to score in the paint when we face the Jazz, because they have two great defensive players patrolling it." As the Jazz are long-time rivals with the Rockets, we hope this isn't a factor in the Rockets' run for a championship.

Carlos Boozer

Paul Millsap

Tyrus Thomas | Gerald Henderson | Al Jefferson

That's what I thought too, but it's just a video game. Anyways, I'll need to watch out against the Jazz now, Big Al is a player I hate going up against.

Yes, especially the Boozer-Al trade.
z02 wrote:very crap trades...
If you're the Bobcats, yes that was a dumb move, but there's the trade logic in this game.
Andrew wrote:The overzealous trade logic strikes again.
Yes, not also that, but I can name numerous All-Stars who've gotten injured in this dynasty: Roy Hibbert(2) (he's a star in this dynasty), Chauncey Billups, Deron Williams, Mike Bibby, and others.

2-game Recap
[21-4] Houston Rockets 100-92 Dallas Mavericks [16-10]

Dirk scored 38, and Jared just couldn't defend this game.
The Rockets came back down to Earth to face the Mavs. This was a close game, and the Mavs showed improvement since the last time these teams faced off. Caron Butler scored 26, going 3/4 from behind the arc. Dirk scored 38. But it was the big 3 who did it all. K-Mart and AB had 20 points a piece, and Yao had 16 and grabbed 13 boards to secure a last win in Dallas.
SPOTG-

Yao Ming
16 points | 13 rebounds | 2 ast
Top Scorers-
Rockets: Kevin Martin and Aaron Brooks- 20
Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki- 38
Board Crashers-
Rockets: Yao Ming- 13
Mavericks: Brendan Haywood- 13
Assists-
Rockets: Aaron Brooks- 7
Mavericks: Jason Kidd- 14

Trevor Ariza is struggling to find a rhythm with the Rockets, and went 4/13 from the field.
Box Scores-
32 22 21 25 100
17 26 24 25 92
[22-4] Houston Rockets 97-90 Oklahoma City Thunder [8-17]

Ariza had a better game, despite scoring 9 points, he went 4/8 from the field.
The Rockets headed back home to meet some very suspiciously biased referees. OKC went a franchise high 38/44 from the FT line, and Kevin Durant had half of those attempts and had a career high, without a miss, 22/22 from the FT line. Donte Greene scored 20 points and went 3/5 from the 3 pt line. Despite the biaseness of the refs, the Rockets picked up the W, despite struggling all night to gain the lead.
SPOTG-

Yao Ming
14 points | 11 rebounds | 3 ast | 2 blk
Top Scorers-
Rockets: Kevin Martin- 26
Thunder: Kevin Durant- 29
Board Crahsers-
Rockets: Yao Ming- 11
Tunder: Etan Thomas- 14
Assists-
Rockets: Aaron Brooks- 7
Thunder: Russell Westbrook- 7

Bud and Shane Battier were victims of Durant's regime of FT's.

Superb wins. Does Chuck Hayes have his free throw ritual?
Sat May 29, 2010 4:24 am
Which one, the one where he "fakes" his free throw? Yeah.
Sat May 29, 2010 10:35 am
Couple of nice wins there. Durant going 22/22 from the free throw line probably isn't that unfeasible!
Sat May 29, 2010 11:08 am
22/22 on the free throw line? That was sorta like my game with the Nets. They gave Devin Harris three straight foul calls in a row. THREE IN A ROW.

True, especially since the referees were leniant towards not just Durant, but to Westbrook too. He went 12/12 from the line too.

Yeah, it was like that to me too, but it stopped in the 4th because I kept going for steals and they would blow past me and draw the foul in the paint.
Sat May 29, 2010 2:07 pm
Actually a correction on Durant's career free throw record, he shot 24/26 against the Clippers in the 08/09 season, though 22/22 would be a career best in terms of makes without a miss (and one shy of Dominique Wilkins' all-time record). He shot 18/18 against the Kings this year though, so again it's not much of a stretch (for once).
